A couple years ago I got hooked on body language and facial movements and since have gone through far too many books on the subject. The mac daddy of facial expressions is Dr. Paul Ekman (The show Lie To Me was based off his work) and based on his research I think you are giving incomplete advice. Telling people to "fake a smile" is bad advice. It's like telling someone who has no knowledge of style to "just dress nicely". What they think is nice, probably isn't what the rest of the world thinks…

YEA! Hope we beat Fulham tomorrow. BTW if you don't know about /r/chelseafc you should check it out. But yea, most of the list is pretty bull shit. Tuesdays are my day so all I've done all day is play video games with my girlfriend. Fifa 13 earlier, right now me and my GF are having a Plants vs. Zombies competition to see who's better and she's spent all day trying to convince me to split the cost of a Wii U with and she'll keep it at my place. If I didn't play video games we probably wouldn't b…

God, I fucking hate lists like this. They probably set me back a good year for listening to this type of crap. First, I find that most of the time they tend to be written by someone who is about 6 months in and thinks they've solved everything. If there is anything I've learned in the 5 years since I've found this community, it's that inner game can't be boiled down to a few (or even 144) bullet points. Second, they almost always have the inevitable, "Be yourself" or something along those lines,…

Thank you for linking the dunning-kruger effect. I feel like that is particularly relevant to where I am right now.

Because there are no quick fixes. If they told the truth, very few people would listen to them. The vast majority of the population doesn't want to hear, "Yea it's gunna be tough, your going to get rejected, your ego is going to take a bruising, but eventually it will work." They are in it for the money, and quick fixes sell. If they want money, make sure they have the reputation to back it up, if they don't best to just assume they are full of crap.

Are you kidding? He's totally beta there in the sense that he is seeking the worlds approval. Look at him, every word out of his mouth is trying to convince the reporter that his life style isn't a problem. If he were truly "Alpha" he would be dismissive because he knows he's right. Have you ever met someone who has a lot of money and thinks that makes them cool.Every word out of their mouth is about how much money they have, everything they say is either building them up or putting someone else…

You edited your post since the last time I responded, so I would like to respond to the added material. This time with quotes! : ) If good mid/advanced material comes along, it's lost in the sea of material catering to the beginner. You have your vote, use it. If you can't handle a community where the majority has a different opinion than yours, maybe this isn't the place for you what's going to convince the people who write quality content to stick around? If you are only writing to achieve rec…

You know what, you are 100% right. Noobs should not be allowed to dictate what is important. Noobs are ruining this place, I mean fuck, this subreddit is becoming a Noobocracy. We can not stand for this. I only want to read a subreddit that is controlled by the people, controlled by the majority and not our Noob overlords. For this subreddit, I put forth we establish a democracy, where each redditor, regardless of his or her skills in seduction, is allowed one vote on each post. Then we shall cr…

Seriously, why the fuck does it matter? I'm looking at the front page right now and there are posts from over a day ago that have 0 upvotes, meaning nothing is getting buried by having these "obvious" posts as you call them. I come and check in once every day or two and by checking the first or second page I am able to see almost everything posted since the last time I checked. Also, just because something is obvious to you doesn't mean it is obvious to everyone else. If the number of upvotes is…

One of the best ways I've ever head this phenomenon explained was by David D. The people around you know how to manipulate you (manipulate has bad connotations but it is the best word for the explanation). They know that if they do A you will do B, and when you begin to change they fear that this will not work anymore, so sub consciously or consciously they will do everything in their power to keep you from changing in order to keep the status quo. It all comes down to people fearing change.

Same problem dude, I'm 21 and I still get asked if I'm in highschool regularly. It used to destroy my night when a girl at a bar would ask how old I was. Now I just answer "12, but my fake ID is AMAZING!" and laugh.

Don't apologize bro, confrontation breeds revelation, there's never just one way to do this shit, and hey, every once in while my way isn't best. But yea, I totally see what you're saying, about it being risky. As for me though, jokes like that are part of my personality, it's who I am, so I like using them right away because if she's not gunna laugh, I don't wana waste my time. I actually had that happen last night at a bar, I made some stupid mildly inappropriate joke, she just stared at me, s…

However, If you go out to flirt with ten girls and the third one thinks you're weird and creepy and ugly, so she stabs you in the face with a broken beer bottle, you'll be dead.

There's a significant difference between a couple having a few drinks and one thing leading to another, and being the creepy guy at a party that goes looking for the girl passed out on the bed. Actually, I think you need to consult a lawyer. In California, and every other state I'm pretty sure, in the eyes of the law, there is NO difference in a married couple having a few drinks and getting it on, and a guy taking advantage of a passed out girl. Both are rape. It is illegal to engage in any sex…

"Me: Lol no big deal hope everything is ok. Next day I'm free is saturday" Dude... Wussy statement. You gave up any control you had, by basically ASKING if shes free saturday. That basically says, "Hey I know you just blew me off twice in a row but I'm still gunna give you another chance". You coulda said alot worse, but still that was kinda weak. IMO you should have said something like "That sucks, I'll tell you what, hopefully you can get everything figured out, and maybe I'll hit you up somet…

Man this opening 6 girls in one night is more than I ever have before, drunk or sober. I go out to the bars 3 times a week usually, now that schools started its only about once, but if I approached 2 girls in a night that was insane. This was defiantly a personal victory for me.

The best trick I've ever gotten from this was from a public speaking teacher a few years ago. He was talking about what to do with your hands during a presentation to look natural, but I've found this works in almost every situation. basically the thing to do is let your arms hang at your side, but yea i know that feels awkward, so to get over this touch your thumbtipss to the tips of your middle and ring fingers (kinda like your making the "quiet coyote" hand gesture except with its ears down. …
