Reading: Sidebar, Sex God Method, various OYS's Physical: Gyms are closed so I'm making due with the weights I have at home. I need to get a weight bench and a straight bar for the house. I'm looking forward to when all of this Covid-19 shit is over so I can get back to my routine. I only have 185 lbs of weights so I've increased the reps …

I have these. I'll make sure I'm using them properly. I just hope it's not something that will eventually require medical treatment. I don't want to take a break from lifting but also dont want to keep aggravating it. Can you identify the trigger that leads to this? I didn't take my dependency on weed as serious as I should have. I used to smoke when I woke up, when I was stressed, bored, in a good mood, just before eating, just because. I fooled myself into thinking I had a handle on everything…

29 yrs old, wife is 29, 2 sons - 8 and 6, 5'10,176lbs. Lifts: 5x5s in lbs -BP: 175, DL: 245, SQ:240, OHP: 90, Rows: 125 Reading: Finished TRM, rereading WISNIFG, and will go back to MMSLP afterwards. Physical: Recurring pain in both wrists slowed me down on my BP and OHP this week. Perhaps the weight is too heavy or my form isn't proper. I'll be back at it as soon as I can. Gyms are closed so I'll make due with the weights I have at home. My father also asked me to help him started with exercisi…

29 yrs old, 5'10. 173lbs. Lifts: 5x5s in lbs - BP: 185 DL: 235, SQ:230, OHP: 90 Rows: 120 Reading: Rational Male x2, Models of Attraction Physical: Making some good progress in the gym since my last post. I feel great most of the time, especially on days of lifting. I want to keep this momentum going. I've almost reached the goal that I set for myself of getting to intermediate strength levels according to the Symmetric Strength app. When I reach that goal, I'll switch to another program to add …

29 yrs old, 5'10. 173lbs. Lifts: 5x5s in lbs - BP: 175, DL: 215, SQ:190, OHP: 90 Rows: 115 Reading: Day Bang, Various OYS and top MRP posts, sidebar. Reached this weeks goal of getting to the gym to lift 4 times. I love lifting and get a sense of accomplishment every time I move up to a new weight. I'm still having wrist pain (could be related to lifting or fretting my guitar, but either way it hasn't really gotten better). I'm able to power through though. That is a small win but I see how powe…

I've got this problem as well. The guys I know IRL are blue pill. How does one go about finding a "Morpheus" without talking about Fight Club?

Is this some DHV thing, or do you actually want to play? It's more like wanting to challenge myself to do more than what I've done so far with my life. I enjoy it but I've hamstrung myself by always holding myself to this standard to the point that I don't even try. You're too far in your head about sex as a judgement of yourself. Thanks for pointing this out. Thinking about it, that mentality extends beyond sex. Getting out of my own head and enjoying the moment has always been a struggle. I've…

OYS #4 29, 5'10, 173.5 lbs Lifts: 5x5s in lbs - BP: 175, DL:200, SQ:180, OHP: 80 Rows: 110 Reading: Sidebar, various OYS and top MRP posts. I've created some long and short term goals. Finances: Resisting temptation to waste money is easier the more I do it. I'm getting better with disciplining myself. My bills are paid on time and I'm continuing to work on paying off debt. Thankfully I'm getting a tax return that'll go straight to starting our emergency fund, and towards paying off some more of…

OYS #3 Married 6yrs, both 29, 5'10, 178 lbs. Lifts: 5x5s in lbs- BP: 175, DL:205, SQ:190, OHP: 70 Reading: MAP, Sidebar, various OYS and posts. Mission: Still undefined but I'm starting to developing actual goals for myself. Finances: I'm realizing more and more how much my past fuck ups financially are limiting my ability to do the things I want. My current focus is building my emergency fund and paying off debt. That means I have little wiggle room when it comes to doing anything extracurricul…

OYS #2 -29 YO, 180lbs Lifts: 5x5s - BP: 170, DL:180, SQ:180, OHP: 70 Reading NMMNG again, finished Rational Male. I going to reread MAP. The fact that I havent posted in a month is me half assing things. I'm moving slowly and was dreading getting my ass kicked by the feedback but I probably need it. Finances: Still weak. As stated in my first post, I make a decent amount of it. I should be living better/more financially secure than I am. I have a restraint problem when it comes to spending, and …

My father is as well. I've been reading your posts, and other OYS. Thanks for the pointers. I've been trying to figure out how to maintain my faith while learning a new way of living, so I'm sure I'll find your history useful.

It's hard fighting the urges to do what I've been used to. Reading NMMNG was like reading a breakdown of my life through many of the examples. It helped me to identify a lot of the shit I've buried for years trying to be perfect. Nice guy to the core, like my father before me. I had one ahah moment after another. I can't go back to being that dude. Raised Christian. The son of preachers. I've been heavily involved in church since I can remember. In short, I was raised pretty differently from mos…
