I mean I can’t speak for the female mega brain, I’m sure different women have different reasons etc. Just that the assertion that bi necessarily means less masculine isn’t true. I personally have no problem at all with bi men, but I have a varied social circle and went to a liberal uni where I had quite a few bi male friends, and this probably helped to break down some of the stereotypes or preconceived notions around promiscuity etc before I ever dated a bi man, which probably helped. I got to …

Just because someone’s bi doesn’t necessarily mean they have a permanent ‘itch’ for both genders. If you are attracted to blondes, gingers, and brunettes, it doesn’t necessarily mean that once you settle down with a blonde you’ll be spending your life hankering after gingers and brunettes to scratch that itch.

The two bi men I’ve dated have been the most rugged, hyper-masculine, ‘bear’ish men that I’ve dated. In terms of their attitudes, they’ve both been highly masculine in the sense of being self assured, self aware, confident, and supportive. It’s simply not true that bi = less masculine.

Two of my previous partners have been bi, and I myself am bi but only realised this relatively recently. The way I see it, there are 7 billion people in the world, the determinant of whether someone is going to be unfulfilled by me and / or cheat is to do with the compatibility between me and them, not whether they theoretically have 3.5 billion or 7 billion other options. Whether someone is bi or not would never change my opinion of them, but I do really value that the men that have told me the…

Being in a 20 year age gap fwb type situation myself (I know I know not very red pill) I think another big thing is the social approval. We’ve had a great time together, but the more serious stuff just seems impossible - meeting each others parents, going to one of his work dos where everyone is 20-40 years older than me etc just seems impossible. And although some of mine and his friends know, I wouldn’t want everyone in my life to know, and I’m sure similarly for him (especially as the older p…

I’m so sorry you had to go through all that stuff, you absolutely didn’t deserve any of it. It certainly sounds like you’re on the right track in coping and healing, doing a great job, and really insightful. I have the same issue with finding therapy too expensive, and although its obviously not the same, I’ve found writing stuff down really helpful. Sometimes writing anything down, sometimes answering particular prompts. I find it helps me to take more of an observer perspective of my thoughts …

The way I think about this sort of stuff is - sure, I may be like this because of person X, but now that I know that, it’s my responsibility to learn and act to change for the better. Thinking about past influences can be really useful in noticing patterns, but once you spot that pattern, it’s your responsibility to put the effort in to change. I’ve found some of the ‘and’ quotes from dialectical behaviour therapy useful - this is all about the idea that two things can be true at the same time, …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
