If she has dentures she wouldn't use toothpaste she would use denture paste or soap

I'm confused. Are you saying that you wanted her to brush her false teeth?

Forget the GLP1 and look at her getting HRT. It's more than likely menopause

I no longer get moaned at for going for a run. it is glorious. I used to get up, go out for a long run with my running friends at the weekend, followed by coffee, and be back and showered before she even woke up. Yet somehow I was spending too much time at the gym or running, even though she was asleep in bed whilst I was doing those things.

The best psychiatrist in the world, a shit load of drugs and a willingness by her to engage with them. Oh and maybe a gym membership

Because she's a control freak. I know how she works. If she had somebody else I would shake his hand and wish him luck. It might stop the regular calls to me.

I find it much better just to not let her know anything about my personal life. She can imagine anything she wants then and it drives her crazy

You are separated, You are heading to divorce. What has whatever she does with her life now got to do with you ? You don't have the right to tell her not to enter a relationship and she doesn't have the right to tell you not to enter a relationship. If she gets into a relationship and you are pissed about it then that's a you problem, not her problem. Concentrate on bettering yourself and let her do whatever she does as a free person. You have the chance to build a new life, let the past go and …

I have a king size bed and it's a good job because 2 years post divorce the cat distribution system delivered two male rescue kittens to me. They take up more room than my ex wife ever did.

Come on over and have a read of the stories in r/bpdlovedones and see if they resonate with you. Some of us put up with this behaviour for years before we left them. Others are still struggling through it. This behaviour is abusive and will not get better. You may learn to understand it, but she will never change.

I've had a friend have his photo posted on one of those groups. A whole load of women came out claiming to have dated him with wild stories about abuse and cheating, the comments were crazy. His ex wife saw it and told him. She then posted on the group with the truth and the fact that not one of the commentators could have dated him in the last few years as he was living out of the area for most of that period with the military. It didn't make a difference, the comment got buried . These groups …

I tell them the truth - Marriage is an outdated custom that is of no benefit to either party. Live together, share your life together, buy property together. but why tie yourself together legally only for some blood sucking legal parasite to make money from the end of your relationship.

The old advice of "Before you marry the daughter make sure to look at the mother" is very very very good advice. A lot of people think it is talking about how the mother looks, because that is how your future wife will look in a couple of decades time. It's not. It's telling you to look at how the mother behaves, how she treats her husband or partner, how she resolves conflict and how overbearing she is. The chances are high that your wife too will turn into that person (but would be brave to po…

I no longer have to walk on egg shells. I don't get that sinking feeling when I hear her stomping around upstairs in the morning. And I no longer have to come home from work wondering which version of her I am going to get when I open the door. I am allowed to do things for me and quite often I do them right, nobody is following me around telling me that I'm doing everything wrong or telling me to do something else. I no longer get screamed at and I don't have to constantly watch for the mood sw…

I wish whoever her next victim is the best of luck He will need it. If I found out that she was dating, I would shake the guys hand.

If the kids were younger I'd say give the kids money to get her a gift and card. Or help them choose something. But you don't need to do that as your kids can get their own gifts.

The problem is that there is no "Left" in America. Compared to the rest of the world the "Left" are right of centre. Seriously give your head a wobble and stop falling for the "Left" and "Right" rhetoric, It's designed to split people and it's working.

In her eyes neither of us did anything wrong other than the fact that I ended it without warning. In reality she was abusive with very little to no insight into her behaviour. Even now she can't see that she has ever done anything wrong, even when the teenage kids call out her screaming and abuse she simply says "No I never" or "No I didn't" and that is the end of the matter and she won't discuss it further. In her mind she said that she never did (insert event or behaviour) and therefore she ne…

I have said many times that when it comes to peri-menopause HRT should be free. So many women go batshit crazy at this time in their life. The men in their life never know what they are coming home to, and the mood in the house can change with the wind, at a moments notice and with no warning. There are a whole lot of "Karen" videos online where it is patently obvious that the raging woman is in the midst of menopause and not in control of their emotions.

But when you are doing as requested but just putting it in the dishwasher is met with anger and yelling because it's wrong, then it was always going to escalate from the beginning. Sometimes you can never do right unless you get divorced and then you are doing right for yourself.

Coming home and not bracing myself for the onslaught of anger or the list of things that I had to do was weird at first. In fact just enjoying being at home and not looking for excuses to stay out of the house was weird at first. It took me a year to realise that I don't have to keep checking that everything is ok, that I don't have to jump up and do something immediately when I notice it needs doing, that I am allowed to sit and relax or watch a program on TV without feeling guilty for not doin…

The feeling of not having to work about what I was coming home to. Would I be screamed at, told to do something before even getting my coat off, or would I be ignored. That realisation that it was safe to open the door and not worry about what Lay inside was a huge weight that was lifted from me.

You will always be the bad guy in somebody else's story. Likewise you will always be the good guy in yours. It's always worth remembering that when others that wronged you behave like their life hasn't changed and everything that occurred was justified. Acknowledge the emotions and then let them go. you can't change the past, you can only change the present. Focus on where you are now and where you are going. The past is done and each day is a new chapter. Shitty people that never practice self …

Give yourself time. It took me 2 years before I could sit down and watch a full series on TV or even plan to sit down and watch one episode of a programme that I used to love. It's often the smallest things that are surprisingly hard. Give yourself time and you will get there .

I'm just on the other side of 50 and my 2nd divorce completed 12 months ago. The first I got married far to young (Military marriage) the 2nd she turned into her abusive mother (That's the short version) My kids are much more happy now that we are separated. They have a safe, calm place to come to whenever they wish and when they are with me they see me happy and not walking on eggshells. You have a choice, you can be miserable until the end of your days or you can walk away and find your peace.…

I tried to hold on for far too long. I too was facing anger and shouting and attacks from morning until night. I would come home and not know what I was coming home to. Would it be angry or a sullen sulking wife or an indifferent but happy wife, I never knew. Every day she would scream at me and argue And be hostile at some point. I just never knew when it would come and it left me tiptoeing around on eggshells. I am now 2 years divorced and have my peace. I should have divorced years earlier. A…

I was done having kids. It made total sense. It's a minor procedure and it's a lot less complicated than female sterilisation which is a fairly major procedure

I am also ex military. At 43 I was unfit and overweight (238 pounds) by 50 I had run over twelve marathons, seven 50Km races, 2 50 mile races and 3 100K (62 miles) races. I was never going to be at the front of any of them, I was doing it for me. Why not go out there and give it a go. The way I see it divorce is a time to start over and find out what and who we really are. We should push ourselves and try new things even if we are never going to be THE best at those things we will certainly be b…
