Just to clarify, the men and women this case were not doing equal work so this isn't an immediately obvious case of gender discrimination as implied in the article. The male workers all held tradesmens positions such as carpenters, electricians or general handymen whilst the female workers were in office and clerical positions. I'm not sure I see any discrimination, but rather a statement of fact. Men are typically heavier than women because they have more muscle and less fat than women (muscle is denser than fat), and also have thicker bones on average which adds to the weight difference. At no point did that ask only men to get off the flight, they just gave the factual reason why the plane was overweight.

I would rather have boys but not for the reasons mentioned in the article. My mother was a registered childminder so i grew up in a house full of children being looked after 4 at a time from birth up to around the age of 8 whilst their parents were at work.
