1	When people say the rich marry the rich - are they talking about men who come from money or men who are self made? It was the norm or standard back then, because there were no career women in the upper classes. Two career oriented people are modern, because women could only have careers in modern times. Before WWI, women obviously worked, but they weren't marrying high value/upper crust men.
