What perks? Being required to sign up for Selective Service in the U.S, higher chance of homelessness, suicide? Lower average life expectancy? Being told to bottle up depression, to "man up"? Lower chance of attending and graduating from college? You think women don't have any perks?
My parents think when South Asians get their arranged marriage, they'll just figure everything on the wedding night without any prior knowledge or advice. I wonder how my parents even had sex.
My parents are first generation Indian Americans and never once in 30+ years talked about girls, relationships, sex, etc. They expect me to simply accept an arranged marriage set up by them and go with the flow. This actually worked for my younger brother, so they feel further emboldened that their parenting was correct.
