I've got nothing to add to this discussion other than please don't spend all those savings trying to transform yourself. I wish I was as resonsible as you were when I was younger but alas, I'm 29 and just now starting to get into saving my dough, all I think about is how much I'll have to work in order to get ready for retirement and here you are almost the same age as me without that huge burden on your shoulders. Good job on being smart enough to save, the social life shit will come naturally …

Uggghhh gross, most of the comments on here make me want to vomit. This question is like when I was given advice by other women on how to get a girl to notice me. Most of it came to stuff like "Just be confident" & "Be yourself" which does jack-all for helping a young man understand women. I'm getting the same vibe from most of the comments here. All I can say is to do what most men should do anyways. -Get healthy: In body and mind, if you have a ton of baggage you'll cause problems for yourself…

Thanks for the detailed feedback, she did show sings that she might act this way now that I look back at it, I chalk it up to my inexperience atm, the more I do this the better I should be able to tell signs and know whether I should move forward or leave.

Don't text much, don't discuss what we're going to do or what she likes, flirt more, be confident and decisive. Got it.

I did something similar to what you suggested last night, I told her about how during our interaction that she wasn't really present, she spent so much time talking about her ex and some of the things she's gone through that she's not aware of the great guy she's got right in front of her. Got a smile out of her for that one but still, wasn't enough to get her to loosen up. I'm not sure if I want to pursue this any further honestly, I'm not very experienced when it comes to the whims of women so…

She texted talking about going out for coffee, but just as friends. I told her that I like her too much to want to be just friends with her, I don't think this is really gonna go anywhere.

First of all you are taking what I said and projecting whatever insecurities you have about yourself on to me and the seddit community. Secondly every bar fight ever does not start off over some jackass mate guarding, if anything this tells me that you don't have much experience frequenting them, else you wouldn't have typed up that laughable statement. Some random guy respectfully approached a couple is not enough for bar fights to start when you're dealing with decent fucking people. I didn't …

Doubt it, my buddy was watching the guy talking to her before I even came on the scene, said she looked bored and the fact that her face lit up when I introduced myself tells me that I was obviously more interesting to her, I'm not bragging cause I definitely don't think I got anything out of this other than a good lesson, I'm just confident that I could've gotten with her if I had been more confident.

That's a really insecure way of handling any man who approaches his girlfriend

You too kind, it was a lot easier than I thought, honestly the fact that I was making it happen made me nervous during the interaction, I figure it's something that takes time and more effort though so it'll get better.

Thank you for the feedback, it's really detailed and positive. Your last point is something I have never given much thought, I had noticed that whenever my friends head out to clubs that we get a lot of attention because we're genuinely goofing around, drinking and having fun on the floor, the women in the venue like to flock around us and it's not something I'm used to yet. I just started on improving my confidence and life so I can't wait to see how far I'l go when I'm really deep into living …

Thanks, honestly when I gave her compliment it just felt right at that moment, like the entire reason I even bothered to turn around and talk to her was because she looked so damn good in her dress. I get what you mean though, compliments should be earned and not given loosely.

Figuring out if the girl is interested is going to take some time for me, escalting and kino are what I think I need to practice, like moving in closer and using touch, I often never know what to do with my hands when meeting new women so I often just don't touch people at all. Next time I'll definitely pay attention more.

I considered asking her for facebook, but I thought it'd be odd for someone to ask for her profile page instead of her number. Idk man. Yeah, a new phone is on my list of things I need to buy soon. Thanks for the feedback dude.

Damn man, I think it's interesting that the religions we were raised under caused us to miss out on a lot of the same things. Over here people tend to follow traditions because it's just the easy thing to do, people don't have to think about their lives because they are told what will make them happy, and so they learn to just accept whatever their society wants to give them, I imagine it's just like that over in India.

I don't blame you at all man. Being honest with yourself is not always easy to do when you don't even know who you are sometimes. I am very bitter and angry about everything that happened to me, it's take me years to admit to myself that what happened was not something I deserved, I felt so guilty about hating the abuse (how the fuck do you get someone to hate themselves for not wanting be around things that hurt them?)

Thank you for your kind words. I've never been comfortable telling other people about my past, my parents don't see what they did to me as abuse, they hardly ever even mention it at all these days. I'm going to get some help soon though, thanks again.

Sexual repression is an awful thing to do to a teenager, I know having never learned how be comfortable with mine, that it fucks up your ability to see women as people and how to be honest with your desires for them.

I don't know about other men so I'll just speak for myself. I was taught that my sexual feelings were wrong from the time I learned about sex. If I was caught looking at porn, I'd be punished (like beaten with a belt sometimes punished), I wasn't allowed to date in high school because "God has someone pre-determined for me, so I have to repress my sexual nature and focus on the things that'll make me into a man of God (Step-dad is a pastor who brainwashed my family into a religious fervor for ye…

Really? Gonna have to give that a go. I've never been to either. What are women like at these things? I'm under the impression that they "let their hair down" and are not so defensive as usual.

I'm black as well and have gotten dances at a club plenty of times. What I do is usually just hit the dance floor, have some fun and if I see a girl I want to dance with, I almost always approach from the front. If not from the front, I go to the side and make sure she see's me making eye contact first, then if the situation allows, I'll butt bump her...yup, a butt bump. Woman won't usually start dancing with you straight off the bat, it's kind of like a mating ritual, you show her what you got …

Thanks for your input :) I'm taking your advice about easing up on the lol, shit annoys me too but whenever I tease her or want to joke I feel like i have to put something that'll convey that it's not meant to be taken seriously. I'm actually in the middle of reading Models again lol it' probably the best book I've read on male/female social dynamics.

My bad for the late response, your knowledge is gold so I'd like to learn more. I ended up not hearing from her all day, but she texted me the next day. This was our exchange. Her: Crap. I thought I replied to this. I'm sorry. I'm working all day today :/ but we should definitely hang out sometime. (I suspect that she may have bowed out of my invite gracefully, or she could have just forgotten, no way to tell.) Me: No worries, I had something more important come up and would've had to cancel pla…

Yeah, I spent a lot of time reading books on why I need to take women off of pedestals. I really embraced that mindset, but then my axienty kicked in...it's so frustrating because I KNOW NOT TO PUT WOMEN ON A PEDESTAL, but here I am, trying to find where I went wrong because of it...I don't know what's even the right question to ask anymore, my only guess is: What would you do if you were in my shoes?

I think I may have explained this badly. I don't know about my co-workers but I know my friend didn't mean it this way, she just honestly believes that I'm sort of smooth talker. I find it a funny for the most part, but I do think it's interesting that she's not the first person to mention it. I'm really interested in discovering this part of my personality that people insist is there. My family called me an extrovert last time I came home, but I swear up and down I'm an introverted person. Than…
