I find it super helpful to ask what his top “love languages” are… and what the order is for both how he “gives” and “receives” love. It’s an easy way to figure out exactly how he feels most loved. And as a bonus you get to hear how he expresses love back. Ultimately though, I think any act of love that is seeped with rich intention makes people feel loved, regardless of which “language”.

Imagine it’s your best friend‘s birthday next week. You’re so excited to celebrate her. You take the day off to go find her the perfect gift. You go from store to store and finally find the perfect sweater. You know she’ll love it. You spend the evening wrapping it in her favorite color paper. You can’t wait to see the look of excitement on her face when she realizes how perfect of a gift it is.. how you know her so well! But then the day comes and instead of the giddy excitement you expected.. …

I absolutely love to cook and bake and thus, have thought about this a lot. For me, this is a responsibility I expect to take on when I get married (the dream is to be a SAHM). There will be a clear division of labor. But in my mind— the reason we divide & conquer is so we as a family can thrive & achieve our shared goals. This gets a bit blurred when just dating (especially early stage). We may not even be a “we”. It is him. And it is me. And until we make a decision to tie our lives together h…

our age difference has been making me feel out of place sometimes Is it because y'all are in separate life stages (grad school and post grad)? If so, I would try to reframe it - it may be the case that this difference make y'all better together. My best friend is in law school and loves that her boyfriend is not in school. She says it is so refreshing to leave her "bubble" and talk about things outside of school. They each unite at the end of the day and chat about their wildly different days. I…

The only one I can think of is the "Empowered Wife Podcast" by Laura Doyle. Would love to hear if you find any others!

Re: being a liability I doubt your boyfriend is with you because he thinks you're going to have this rocking, high paying dental job. It sounds like he is doing great on his own (car, house, career). Why would a man want a woman who ONLY brings what he already has to the table? That's like trying to make water.. but we both keep bringing a hydrogen. Someone needs to bring the oxygen.. or we are left with just gas. So! My guess is he loves you for how you make him feel, and who you are. In this w…

I love this! Thank you for sharing. It is very inspiring!! Can you please share your favorite channels for recipes your husband loves? & any go-to books or podcasts you liked? I am trying to get in the right headspace, and get a heads start on my cooking skills (I love to bake but I can't just make bread and baked goods for my future family haha!)

“I’ve told him so many times I can’t do this” It sounds like you keep going back & forth with what you say you want & what you do. I think a lot of shame can come from going back on your word & letting yourself down. I feel most confident when I keep the promises I make to myself. Otherwise over time, you can't really trust yourself. It's like a friend that says "I'll see you this Friday!" but she never shows up. The first time may be an honest mistake, but if this happens 3 more times in a row,…

I do identify with those things so can't speak from personal experience. Re: religion - I saw men from many different religions on there. And men without any religious affiliation. Re: politics - The app was made for conservatives. If you said you were a liberal, I'd tell you to definitely avoid the app. These men are NOT going to be okay with dating a liberal. They are using the app to avoid exactly that. However, there may be some that are okay if you're politically indifferent? I have found p…

There are a couple things to consider - You say he is not gentle enough. What is leading you to believe this? Is it just because he does not watch girly movies or write poems? Or is there more to it? I have 3 brothers, all whom would never write poems but they are still kind and will be great dads. Is being gentle a nonnegotiable for you? For me, I don't necessarily want my man to be "gentle" as I equate that with more feminine "softness". You say he is "loyal, caring, and a good man". That chec…

Thanks for sharing your experience!! I too am in tech, and in a subsection that is all men (only woman in the department). I think you're right and I need to devote more of my time to my life outside work. It's been hard this month as I am in between moving states so don't have a church, a place to volunteer, community, etc. My life has literally been work + my moving to-do list, and it has exacerbated how I feel. *Although I fully own there is no excuse and I still should have done my workouts,…

You have to start looking at your job as a means to an end and pretty much devote any time that’s not there to your more important second job of dating. I need to frame this and read it every morning haha! Thank you. Thanks for all your tips and tricks. I so appreciate you writing all this out for me!! I am going to try this week & integrate more of the little joys into my days.

Initially it came from a place of wanting security and insurance. I didn't grow up with much & was raised early on to make sure I had something to stand on. It wasn't until last year that I realized I don't need to keep "running". I put most of my money towards retirement/investments. I have a degree, enough in savings, but at this point I am not pursuing the life I want ( being a wife and mother! ) So I have been trying to keep my focus on that life!! Staying feminine, soft, sweet, and essentia…

I felt so unfulfilled in this strange way, feeling like I was missing out on a huge part of life Gosh I couldn't have said this better!! It's the gap between the life I pray for and the life I am living. I love that you have been able to bridge it and feel fulfilled since moving in. How did you find your hyperfeminine friends? I am planning on joining church groups but am curious if you found luck elsewhere? & yes! Would love to keep in touch & swap ideas. I do my nails weekly, bake to soft musi…

her innocence and inexperience can be assets that appeal to a man Do you think there is an age limit for when this no longer is an asset for a woman? I am 27F, inexperienced, and sometimes feel men don't see innocence and inexperience the same positive way as they do for a someone who is 18-22. I do regret not dating seriously when I was younger and instead pursuing a career for far too long... but at this point am trying to turn that around ASAP & there's unfortunately no getting that time back…

I don't know if these technically qualify as "red pill" (oops!). Most are focused on femininity, how to be a better wife, and traditional values. Below is the list of podcasts I saved (most from browsing past RPW convos). **I've only listened to the first three so far. I cannot speak to how good the other ones are. I can keep you posted if you'd like? The Suzanne Venker Show It's Giving - Podcast (Sarah Fontenot) AngAndMike The Empowered Wife (Laura Doyle) The Classically Abby Podcast Conversati…

Thanks for explaining! It is so helpful to hear a man's perspective. Perhaps "red pill" was the wrong terminology (thanks for clarifying!). I listen to podcasts focused on femininity, how to be a better wife, or one's that talk about general traditional values! I find it helpful to remind myself that I'm not so "crazy" for wanting this life even though my surrounding say otherwise.

Thank you for this. It was very encouraging! You are so right! I don't want my career to be everything... I'd throw it all away today to be a wife and mother if I could. I keep telling myself I just need to hold onto this job for a few more years until I settle down with someone; but in the meantime, I can't keep putting my career first. I do spend my free time cooking and baking.. but clearly that's not enough and I need to take the next step and invest more time into working out, putting on a …

I would keep in mind a lot of people can throw on a smile, hold a conversation, & pretend to be someone else for a few hours. It’s the easiest to seem “perfect” on the first date or two.

The best quote I heard on “getting closure” is that you need to reframe your viewpoint— him not responding IS all the closure you need. It means he’s not your guy. Your guy wouldn’t block you on insta mid convo. There is someone out there for you & this guy just clearly showed you it’s not him. Now he’s just in the way.. & that’s the ultimate closure. It’s easier said than done but I hope this helps to reframe it.

I love this!! Any chance you can share your full routine? I know you mentioned: Skinceuticals C+E feurlic, skinceuticals retinol 2x, Elta MD sunscreen Are there any other products you use?

I went to a hyper liberal school and now work in a left leaning field. Re: discussing your views - I always ask myself if I truly think any good will come from sharing my views. If I think it will stir the pot and cause drama, I keep it to myself. If I feel the person will actually have a conducive, and productive conversation, then I'll share. More often than not, this was not the case in college, but I did find some people. There are still some pros! Being surrounded by so many people with pol…
