2	Are men accepting far less these days or has it always been like this? I think you're setting him up for a good chance at life, especially as you seem thoughtful. The UK has become corrupt, there is a nihilism that has crept into both everyday life, dating and politics. I don't hate all Tories, mostly the corrupt ones - we used to have good ones like Ken Clarke and Rory Stewart. 2	Are men accepting far less these days or has it always been like this? Yeah for sure, however perhaps expanding the funding and role of NHS mental health services and cover some sort of national programme to discuss mental health issues and relationships in schools may help? The first one is an interesting point and one I've thought about before - my parents broke that generational contract by booting us all out when we were 18, they then moved far away because they were bored and wanted a fun retirement. However, teaching young adults the skills to find a healthy relationship if they are from a low-middle income socioeconomic background would go a long way to help mitigating the financial risks in having a family - at least when I was at school we were never taught any basic psychology or educated about the challenges life might throw at us at all. In general, outcomes are going to be better without an abusive male around the house and single women who raise a functioning and healthy family after that experience should be given medals - and there should be educational grants and programmes in place to help children where parents got divorced or broke up because of DV. However, objectively outcomes for the children of single mothers are often worse on things like behaviour and educational attainment. One eventually got fired for her drop in performance and barely gets by in a lower paid role now. One has a boy with oppositional defiance disorder and will probably end up beating her senseless when he's a teenager. One has an alcohol problem.
