They mean biologically. Don't think modern world. Think half-naked tribes thousands of years ago. In those terms, for a woman, a man is for them, amoungst many things, a utility. They hunt, gather, and protect. Without that resource, they are missing out. If the woman is pregnant, she is in an even more vunerable state. As a result, it benefits them to move on, make a new emotional connection, and get a new man when the last one got torn apart by a smilodon. For the guy, the thinking that it wou…

When your only tool is feminism, everything looks like misogyny. To expand on the idea, when your only tool is an -ism, you're a tool.

Found this Apparently, the anti-gaters are claiming "It... does seem to me that entering under false pretences is enough. AFAIK, panels were disrupted, and they meant for more."

This is a troll post to get a rise first out of /r/TwoX and then out of the brds on /r/SRSWomen under two seperate throw away accounts. Thing is they didn't fall for it because /r/TwoX responded by saying it wasn't rape or coercion and then when it popped up in /r/SRSWomen they called the trolls out on it and downvoted it into the dirt. More conclusive proof is in the form of one of the comments made (and since deleted) by the throwaway account in the TwoX post which is antithetical to the origi…

The author laments the fact that all the women are depicted as negative and attacking a man, even depecting the man as if he deserves it. Sure, he's not perfect and he flat out did wrong (in having his affair) but does that justify attempts to assasinate his character or frame him for murder for things he did not do? Should we not be exploring how women can be just as bad as man have been? Should we never depect women negatively in any media? That's really the sort of message that the author see…

Isn't what bypassing internal oversight and going directly to the legal system something that most feminists are advocating for in the military?

If all that was true, what must people in Hollywood think of Sean Bean? The poor man dies in nearly everything he is in.

I thought this former-judge was a lil shifty given how much she was smiling, even while talking about the bad ruling she made regarding a giving custody to a man who later was convicted of two cases of sexual assault on his daughter's friends. So, for those who are curious, here's the run down on her. JudgeDeAnn Salcido went to UCLA law, was a deputy DA, and was appointed to the bench in 2002 and re-elected to the bench later. That came to an end in 2010 when "She was charged by the commission w…

It's kind of iffy. It was written by a man in 1867 and "originally seen as humorous." (Yes, I checked the wiki.) So it's kind of a parody. Good song though but don't think it qualifies.

That's another thing that bugs me; when people who are big into "expressing themselves" spend long tracts of time dwelling over the same grief over and over instead of calming down and getting over it emotionally so they can deal with it practically.

I'm not really understanding what you're saying. Are you saying I can't determine what woman wants on a case by case basis but have to deal in generalities? Cause that seems like the opposite of what commonly works.

Yeah having all that fury in you and just venting it blindly can be a problem. It's one of the things I do worry about cause when I did let myself express my feelings plainly when I was upset I was prone to dealing so harshly on people that I didn't just yell and call names. I was prone to tearing the object of my fury down emotionally and leaving them in tears. Quiet often what I found to be more constructive was when I was alone just doing a sort of "one man show" for myself. Just imagining Im…

I get everything you said and agree with it. How people respond is a big part of it. However, the problem I was trying to express wasn't that you cant get release or validation from sharing. It's that when you do it over and over again, it becomes empty. For instance, imagine you're going through a rough patch. You go to your friends house and vent and they respond to it properly and you feel great about it. Then you go to a second friends house. Now you have to fill them in on it and then a thi…

Going to be bit pessimistic but Ive normally been someone who normally expresses himself naturally and freely. As time has gone however Ive found three reasons why Ive been less inclinded to share what Im going through emotionally with others. First, it can be unattractive. Sure, some women have the best of intentions and do want you to open up. Key word being "some." Some dont care. Some want you to share but when they want you to, not when you need to. Some want you to say things they will agr…

Sounds like they're upset you're not using the definitions they want you to so they can't use the arguments that are based on their definitions as a result.

So you take what you want from an ideaology that you agree with and disregard the stuff you dont, even if the stuff you dont like is central to the ideaology? Ideaology a la carte? Why not just say you're equalitarian instead so you can be for equal rights but not for some of the stuff on either side you dont agree with?

Sounds like he's frustrated about something in his life and instead of focusing on that issue/those issues, clearly identifying the causes of his frustration, and working to resolve them, he's using anti-feminism (cause he seems to be focused on anti-feminism more then MR issues) as a way to vent. Not saying he needs to join a drum circle, hug a tree, or anything silly but what you are describing doesn't come off as healthy expressions, even of frustration or anger. It's just him throwing temper…

I was asking a specific question to Khaemwaset's comments specifically about her behavior. Later, in my response to them, I clarified that I wasn't going to condone or excuse his behavior (as little as my opinion matters on some internet topic) and thought his behavior was that of a drunken overreaction. If I need to be clearer in my opinions on every matter before I start asking questions, then by all means I will. I thought it best to make sure I had a clear idea of what Khaemwaset was wanting…

Not to me. If I was there I would have told him to shut the hell up, smacked him on the back of the head, and escorted his drunken ass home. He overly (and drunkenly) reacted to a rude and hostile person. She was wrong too for being rude and hostile. This is one of the those situations where everyone is wrong. We can argue about degrees but no one gets excused. But that's just me, and I'm just an ass on the internet.

So, you're explaining it rather then defending it? I can understand that. There is a difference between the two.

I will add this. Im not saying she turned me into a newt, shes a witch, and we have to burn her. Its the internet and we're getting an half intoxicated heresay account of it. So im not saying we have the place, authority, or jurisdiction to judge the lady. I will say she sounded rude and ignorant. Sounds like she made the mistake of not concidering others as you say. She took whatever may have been her issues, bad day, or fear and pulled OP into it. Thats just wrong too. But we cant judge cause …

Because people's perceptions are limited he can only speculate on her internal mental state. However, regardless of her internal emotional or mental state, it does not validate or excuse her threatening a non hostile stranger no more then it would excuse a man yelling at a woman who simply asked for directions. Whether she was having a bad day or was actually just a bitch, her behavior was uncalled for. OP of course shouldnt have yelled in response. Bottom line; sounds like youre trying to give …

So its exceptable for anyone having a bad day or just having gotten up on the wrong side of bed to deal on others without consideration and be justified?

Well, just explaining it, not rationalizing it. However, it should be considered that there probably are ways that men and women are worse/better then each other.

Former target of bullying here as well. Have to say, it was limited to when I was being social at school and learned to avoid it. Can't imagine how it would have been if it had continued and followed me when I tried to avoid it and back home, as you hear in some cases. Sounds like a nightmare.

I think the reasoning behind it is that a lot of feminism theories are based on the presopisition that men are the cause of many problems, either directly or indirectly, and, conversely, that women are the victims of the majority (99.999999999%) of those problems with no direct or indirect hand in it. Basically, it's builds up new gender roles/strawmen where women can do no wrong and then building social efforts and policies around those fallacious arguments. The reason why so many people post s…

I'm going to put my list up but I'm going to up front in saying that this list can apply to any group be they a rights movement or religious group or any group where an ideology comes into play. Yes, that does include the MRM cause I have seen symptoms of it popping up from time to time and I do think MRAs need to be mindful of it. The saying goes "The first step in evading the trap is knowing of it's existence," and I think the worst thing the MRM can do is end up following other groups, even f…

I don't understand why the concept of kink (be it light spankings or heavy BDSM) not being domestic violence is so hard to grasp. It's like the difference between being beaten in an alley and being beaten in the ring while trying to win a championship belt. Yes, both are violent, messy, involve bodily fluids, and are not to everyone's tastes but the important thing is one involves consent, compassion, and safety and one does not. However, no one is saying you have to do it or even watch it. If t…
