It was a mandatory sentence. So any woman would have received the exact same. Governor Polis has already stated that he will grant clemency to reduce the sentence. This is not a Men's Rights issue.
5 dead in a horrific manner. They burned alive pinned in their vehicles. Many other injured. His brakes failed because he was an incompetent operator driving on one of the most dangerous stretches of US highway.
5 dead in a most horrific manner, not because of a mistake, but because of NEGLIGENCE. There are safeguards in place on this portion of the highway that he ignored. There is special signage all along this highway that warns against THIS SPECIFICALLY that he ignored. He was more concerned with not damaging the truck he was driving instead of utilizing the safeguards in place to prevent this exact type of accident.
Governor Polis has already stated that he's going to grant clemency in order to reduce his sentence. This is a non-issue. But this guy was a complete and total moron who ended up causing the deaths of multiple people. These people burned to death while pinned in their cars because he couldn't be bothered to ditch his truck on one of the numerous runaway truck ramps that he passed miles before the accident.
If you’ve ever driven I-70 eastbound into Denver, you’d know why passing those ramps is a serious lapse in judgement. He was more concerned with damaging that truck than he was with preventing exactly the kind of accident those ramps are designed to prevent.
This was a mandatory minimum sentence. A woman would have received the same. This idiot flew by several runaway truck ramps, any of which would have prevented this. You post is disingenuous. Ended up killing 5 people when his several tons of truck ran into Denver rush hour traffic.
