Oh, I totally agree. The emphasis is on mostly. And you are right, that most topics have that. I just think psychology is a bit special in that regard with funny stuff like Freud's psychoanalysis being so important, but also pretty much debunked (still interesting ofc, I mean I really like Lacan) or the simple fact, that it is almost impossible to prove a lot of psychological theories. It's also probably the scientific field, that is easiest to manipulate. The brain ist just still kind of a blac…

You literally say "Porn isn't the problem"

I mean the argument about porn addiction goes a bit deeper. It's not about "normal" porn consume. It's about excess and what it does to the brain (what the kids on the web call pornbrained nowadays) and afaik there are studies that show, that people, that watch a lot of porn need crazier and crazier stuff and kinda get addicted. They still know it's a fantasy, but they need it to be turned on... now the question is imho: Is this really something common or is it some fringe internet shit (see goo…

My professor during university said something really clever once: Men are materially romantic, women only formally. Women love the look of something romantic, not romanticism itself. They like candles and flowers. They dont like running through the rain to see somebody they love or sing underneath a balcony, that's what men do

Hot Take: Psychology (not Psychiatry) is mostly a joke science

Lol, this exactly happened at my (very left leaning) office. One co-worker mentioned, that he sometimes feels bad, because the talks at lunch break can get a bit misandrist and the girls went mad, calling him an incel and wanting him fired. Fortunately our HR is great and the people, who got in problems were the mad girls, lol

I'ts so funny how the oh-so-lefties become rather "your problem"-"pull yourself up by the bootstrap"-libertarians, whend it comes to men's problems to act as if women's problems were and are caused by anything and anyone but women is intellectually dishonest or plain stupid. the patriarchy this, the patriarchy that. i am fully aware that the patriarchy does not 100 % benefit women, but that doesnt mean it wasnt designed to. Lol, suddenly it has a strange chauvinistic vibe

That's the fun part. I never said that. All I said is there are some nuances. And all I got was a dogpile by people, that clearly have some serious issues. You are doing your mission no favour!

I wont discuss this, as there are really crazy people, when it comes to this topic... they are brigading random subs, as soon as this comes up and nuanced opinions are not allowed

I mean, the world once was pretty patriarchic and some places still are. But nowadays, in most western countries, it is an imaginary enemy, that the third wave Feminists need to justify their activism...

The behaviour of the male teen was ofc bad, but why is it misogynistic? AFAIK he didnt kill her because he hates women, but because he got rejected. It's crazy how the stupid culture war stuff gets projected on everything nowadays

Communists anti-male??? How?? Is this some crazy american idea?? I am a proud marxist, that simps for working class men (and women ofc) like all commies should do! I dont like true scotsman arguments, but these people are not real communists. They are neoliberals with che guevara shirts! Edit: thanks for the downvotes, starting to think, that this sub is not really left at all

Lol, that reminds me of a (ofc ironic) conspiracy theory, that this is the way how gay marketing people try to make straight people gay; by showing hot naked men and desexualizing women... ;)

Yes, the answer is tribalism... as usual

Wait? What is wrong with 'Catcher in the Rye'? Did I miss something? Was Salinger cancelled?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
