While 4 hour wait time sounds about right from my experience, it depends on what you're in for. The ER will take patients in order of severity, and most people tend to go for bullshit reasons because it's free. They clog up the system going to the ER when they likely are better served by going to the clinic or anywhere else. Anyone with real injuries and wounds doesn't wait very long to get treatment.

Anecdotally, I split with my current girlfriend for the first couple of dates. She and some of my more mature and respectable female friends all are high quality enough to split the bill. My girlfridnd even pays for more of our dates than I do. (She also makes significantly more money than I do.) Painting all women with the same brush is stupid. Why? It's a pretty terrible metric for that. The suicide rate for both sexes has been fairly steady for decades and when it does increase both genders increase similarly. Men consistently have committed suicide and triple the rate of women. It's also pretty closely correlated with divorce rate. I can speak for "non-traditional" methods. When I was 12-16 I was in the practice of giving myself frostbite by freezing my hands in ice cold water. (or by simply going outside underdressed) No one would suspect me of anything because I live in Canada and I didn't do it as much during the warmer months, but for years I would just intentionally inflict frostbite on myself as a form of self-harm. You guys are forgetting that the UN is an international organization and that there are many countries that still oppress women. None of this is applicable to North America or Europe, but it is applicable to the Middle East, India, Japan, China etc etc etc. (Especially rural areas) Men's rights and women's rights movements both deserve equal respect and attention and while I understand the frustration of the MRM often being marginalized and ignored, there is nothing wrong with this UN initiative…

What the article author implies: "The writers of this show think abusing men is okay." What the writers actually thought: "Man remember my crazy ex-girlfriend?" "Oh yeah man, mine was always back and forth on whether or not I should give her advice or just listen to her." It's not meant to be malicious, it's just making light of common experiences. (with a bit of hyperbole in the form of bending)

One of the synonyms of "Consent" is "Comply" Compliance without any coercion (Verbal or physical) is implied consent. It doesn't matter if you didn't actually want it if you went along with it. That's not rape, that's you being an idiot. Much like how if I bullied a kid because my friends egged me on to do it I'd be consenting to the act of bullying that kid. It doesn't matter if I didn't actually want to bully him: I still fucking did it.
