While I agree with this take, unless you count prison I'm pretty sure there were nearly zero men conscripted in the US in recent years. Whining about this now after everyone just had their rights stripped away makes me want to unsubscribe. Or maybe none of you considered you and your girlfriend / wife might want an abortion someday. Back in my psychology days the rule was women attempt (more often) as a cry for help. Men don't. That's why men often choose to use more lethal methods. What I took from that was we should pay more attention to depressed men, since it's far less likely you'll get a cry for help from them.

I'd agree but at the beginning of a court case you basically come up with an outrageous list of damages that you'd never really expect to get awarded. So in some world I can see her lawyer coming up with 7 million because the rapper "damaged her brand" or some bullshit like that. And if you don't show up to challenge the claims then they're assumed to be valid. You see this in the news a lot where someone's sued an absurd amount but ends up getting awarded 5% of that value.

This seems unlikely. When you sue you have to prove damages. There's just no way any judge would approve 7 million in damages for getting groped. We're all legally required to sign up for the draft at age 18. A draft is unlikely to happen again but it's a nice happy birthday from the government to be sure. If there were a draft and you refused to fight you'd go to prison for some number of years. Women are not required to sign up. I'm also not sure why you're not just signed up automatically since the govt knows when you turn 18. Failure to sign up can result in fines and imprisonment.
