I feel for you man. This is a tough hand to be dealt. You’ve gotten some great advice here. Now get to work. This is your life, only you can fix it.

You need to figure out what you actually want. You’ve got fuck-around-itis with both work and relationships. Take a look at your pleasure-seeking. People without purpose seek pleasure instead.

With regard to the socializing stuff, I’d get really familiar with why you want to speak in those scenarios. I’ve found that (as a recovering nice guy) there was much ego involved. Don’t confront your issue with her speaking too much before you confront what’s at the root of your introversion/nice guy/beta crap. Sometimes quiet guys are just ego-less and have no need to speak unless asked a question. Nothing wrong with that.

Telling OP what to do (your Interpretation), and to seek counsel from his pastor who likely has no concept of MRP or what OP is trying to accomplish. Might as well sign him for marriage counseling.

I like the Bible verses because they add value. The rest of this reply is moralizing and stupid advice.

Not necessarily. It’s all about intention. If your intention is to increase SMV so that your wife wants you then yes, dancing monkey covert contract. If your intentions are sound (free of validation seeking) then increasing SMV will have these same results which are inarguably beneficial. Bottom line: Do it, but do it for you.

Victim puke done. Now what are you going to do about it?

Apparently, you might be too. If you truly think she’s any bit autistic, what the fuck are you doing with her? You’ve got low standards. If not, stop making dumb jokes to excuse your actions and to avoid the reality. Burning desire doesn’t look like this. Go back to the sidebar and make yourself into a man who has options and then exercise those options as needed.

She’s not that into you. Pay attention to her actions. Disregard the mouth noises. 99.9% chance she’s just like all women, .1% chance she’s autistic and needs your position and feelings to be explained.

The first step is analyzing your motivations (why am I doing this particular thing?). You’re doing that. Now, start tackling each thing you do for validation, one at a time change the “why”. Cleaning the kitchen; so I have a nice kitchen, walking the dog; it’s good for me and the dog, sex with the wife; so I get my rocks off, taking the family out to a nice restaurant; I like to eat at nice restaurants Look with pride at the things you did for you. “It makes me happy” should be the thing you say…

I’m lost, what’s the point of this FR? I was hoping to hear much more about how you had to wrestle with the the fact that your wife fucked other dudes and how you must’ve come to some sort massive epiphany about how you were able to accept that as a man with options. You do have options right? How does this help other dudes? You do know you’re totally in her frame right? She, her, she, her…. This FR oozes of validation seeking towards MRP and your wife. Keep trying but we don’t need your updates…

External course of action is up to YOU. That’s YOUR boundary she crossed. YOU enforce it. Pro tip #1: it’s not a boundary if you don’t enforce it. Pro Tip #2: there’s plenty of pussy in the sea.

Totally agree. OP needs to rise above and see how pathetic all of this is. She likely fucked another loser and OP’s planning to better himself to win her back. Talk about a dancing monkey, LARPing away the years. He’s got a massive ego keeping him from seeing the truth of his own validation-seeking behavior and ultimately severe lack of boundary enforcement. Too little, too late. OP has got a lot of work to do on himself.

This advice is missing my point altogether. Here’s what I was referring to: why you must be willing to nuke your nuclear family

Avoid. Wives of frameless husbands love the “appeal to authority” of bringing in a marriage counselor to set their husband right. Get your head on your shoulders (by sidebar, lift, STFU) and you’ll begin to see why it’s generally a bad idea. The rare instance it could be good for you is if you magically found the one guy in 10,000 who doesn’t subscribe to the popular belief the more communication and chore play solve the marriage issues. You’re in the right place here, get to work. Don’t waste t…

Don’t forget the sidebar. NMMNG has your name in it.

First of all stop with the “we” shit. Strangers on the internet are not your pee-buddies. Stop being a chick. Secondly if you think it’s a good idea to base your life’s motivation on external validation then you’re missing the point. Ask yourself “why?” Seriously, what is making that your motivation? My guess is ego.

You can’t even be honest and tell her that you think she is beautiful for fear of being found out to be MRP LARPing your way through this relationship AND YOUR LIFE. Get a frame. Stop living in everyone else’s.

A lot of good advice here so far. I believe you’ll find a lot of value using your relationship as a training ground but odds are RULE #7 is where you’ll end up. For now, focus on yourself and let go of external factors and ideal outcomes.

It was TOO LONG; therefore I DIDN’T READ it. Try internalizing the sidebar instead of trying to break the “un-tapped silence”. How many dudes do you look up to that talk as much as you do? Maybe follow their lead and STFU. If you’re the alternative, I’ll take the silence any day.
/r/askMRP05/09/24 01:56 AM

Am I dense? What does this mean?
/r/askMRP15/08/24 02:10 AM
2

Clearly you have not internalized the side bar. Ever thought of being your own mental point of origin? or having frame? Who’s the oak? You’re out here blowing in the breeze. What’s worse is that you’re trying to appeal to strangers on the internet like we’re your pals. Stop seeking validation here. Too many words, not enough meaningful action. Lift, STFU, sidebar.
/r/MarriedRedPill13/08/24 04:33 PM

Build yourself into being a man who has higher standards of himself and everyone he allows into his sphere. That comes by first lifting, STFU, internalizing the side bar. There are no cheat codes. In case you still need some tips, I didn’t say “don’t care about other peoples’ emotions” I said “don’t be afraid of peoples’ emotions” big distinction.
/r/askMRP10/08/24 02:08 PM
16

Do yourself a lifelong favor, stop being afraid of other peoples’ emotions. It’s paramount to having frame, not operating in hers, and ultimately results in an honest expression of your life lived the way you’d like to live it.

This is great: "For guys reading along (especially newer guys), nuking isn’t what fixed things, it’s the result of things being fixed." I wish we could still see ImpatientZen's posts, they were good for guys who may be building toward nuking. Please keep posting in MRP for the same reasons. Any other guys who ended up divorcing who you though had relatable posts?

These are good tips. For more on this topic people should read David Goggins' book. Motivation disappears or never comes at all, discipline is your only hope. I'm off to the gym!

Thanks for posting this. I am the guy you’re targeting with this message. I might not be as far along on my MAP as you describe but I can definitely see myself getting more and more frustrated at myself for not being able to DNGAF. As they say, I’m still a validation seeking whore. This helps guys like me.

I get what you're going through. It's hard. The best thing you can do for your relationship and mental state is to stop identifying with the illness. It's something you have but not who you are. Personally, I focus on two things: There will be a cure in the future. There are or were people with the same condition who have accomplished great things. Do YOUR best with what you have. No excuses.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been thinking about this very thing. I see what you're saying. I like it. I think my statement is just the anger phase peeking through. I want to kill that ASAP. It's hiding in the damndest places.

Okay. This helps. I'm going to write this in stone. I see how this approach would move me away from giving any fucks about anyone else. Damn. Thanks.

Thanks for reading. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it important to measure results by observing how your actions and behaviors effect those around you? I can see how this all comes off as validation-seeking (and it probably is), but what else is there to report on? Just my inner thoughts? What am I missing? Thanks again.

I've noticed that the first thing I need in order to be comfortable (not guilty) being an asshole is to do in relation to something I can feel righteous about. Getting barricaded out of my neighborhood by construction crews recently was a pretty good reason where I felt totally vindicated letting people know how they fucked up. I'm sure the reasons will mean less and less to me over time. I definitely want to maintain a reputation of being just, a "just asshole". Not "just an asshole".

Thanks again, I've read everything you linked and am diving deep. Being an asshole has never been easy for me but I am getting better day by day.

This is awesome feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time with a OYS1 poster like me. I've definitely shot myself in the foot by rationalizing all the reasons I have to be mad and stay mad. I have so much anger built up that I could be confused with a black-pilled MGTOW guy. I am not. I definitely see the benefit of where this is all headed. Just enough successes to see the faintest light at the end of the tunnel. Harnessing the anger to make headway. Thanks for the links to being a prop…

Thanks for the constructive feedback. I have been working at the plan you described, just having a hard time not being an idiot and falling back into old ways and seeking results for my efforts (AKA validation). I REALLY need to work on that. DAMN. Divorce prep is half done per the sidebar. Duly noted: Read, Lift (harder), STFU, looking forward to future OYS where I'm not owning more pathetic beta-bitch nonsense. Thanks again

Thanks man, I knew it was pathetic. Just wanted to own it and write it down in stone. Its hard to believe this is what I would actually call progress. You're spot-on with all your comments. I'm going to tattoo them inside my eyelids. The only issue I take is on the front of BF% my lifts do not represent the way I look. I used 10-12% based on photo comparisons, are those inaccurate? Maybe its because I am doing low-weight and higher reps I was doing in my home gym but I am lean and athletic looki…
