“Because we were engaged, the doctor comes over to me and she is like, ‘I need you to call his mother. She is the next of kin’” HIS MOTHER IS NEXT OF KIN FIVE CHILDREN I’d rather die than ever be in a situation like this.

That’s true! I didn’t think about that. I’m 23 so I couldn’t imagine waiting 7 years for a man to propose.

The problem isn’t the proposal, it’s being the forever girlfriend. Dating for 7 years before a ring? That’s insane.

Altered Carbon on Netflix. Dystopian but portrays the inevitable result of this line of thinking.

The United States as an “underdeveloped country.” Now that’s a paradigm shift. Women here are absolutely broken and brainwashed into believing this is the safest and best country for us, but we are only as safe as the men around us allow us to be.

I’m going through almost the exact same thing right now. I’m so fucking hurt to find out he has been spending his hour in the bath every day jacking off to Instagram models and porn, and does this instead of having sex with me (a VERY attractive and sexually amped up young woman). He said he would quit doing it and we had a good talk, but I just don’t believe him. I don’t know what to do because we live together. Tough spot. I’m proud of you for sticking by your boundaries.

I would suggest reading some top Christian feminist theologians. I did a piss poor job of explaining, but they are excellent.

You have to understand that the Christianity we see today is patriarchal Christianity and is NOT what Jesus teaches. Feminist theology teaches that the oppression of women is evil and that subjugation of women is NOT in accordance with God’s will. I had the same struggle. I grew up in a Puritanical household and I had a lot of trouble reconciling feminism and Christianity until I realized that men created all of these sexist rules around Christianity—Jesus did not. If anything, Jesus was a champ…

I just wrote a paper about this. I’m in the U.S. and it’s the exact same thing. Domestic abuse has skyrocketed. 53% of women became unemployed compared to 12% of men, per the CDC. We are expected to become the primary caregivers for sick people in our families as well. Women are sequestered at home.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
