It is a modern lesser slur. Not at n-word level obviously, but similar to 'Karen' or 'Slut'.

Skirt is probably cooler than shorts regardless?

Was looking for this comment. I never used "male" and "female" until I joined. Now it's the normal way I speak.

Huh. Never considered that, but the match checks out, assuming the <10% is accurate. Aren't there studies showing the younger generations are massively more likely to identify as gay/lesbian or bi though?

So here I have to disagree. Fighting for a good job, even though it means it's not available for others is not immoral. Attempting to change laws so that you have an unfair advantage, that I would argue is immoral, but simply trying to achieve a better life for yourself isn't. That applies to any gender.

Seemed like this belonged here. It makes a number of good points regarding the "men at the top" fallacy, prisons, and the concept of attractive women/unattractive women vs attractive men/unattractive men. It's also in no way anti-women, bringing up the negatives on the other side. Plus it's a beautiful background.

As of right now "toxic femininity " is not a mainstream term, and I would argue attempting to make it so would be counterproductive. Building males up rather than tearing females down should always be our primary goal. As for benefiting women, a lot of what is considered toxic are behaviors and attitudes that benefit society as a whole, but not the male or the people around him. They can come across as abrasive and controlling (see heriarchal leadership vs web leadership) and often have the resu…

The current theory is that toxic masculinity is things like assuming you're right because you're male, assuming technical knowledge (see "mansplaining"), a tendency to butt in, wanting to solve problems rather than listen. I'm sure there's others. Most of that is either A: gender neutral (both genders assume they're right because of their gender and thinking you know something that you don't is a common character flaw) or B: not really a problem, but it makes people uncomfortable. (Having a puni…

Out of curiosity, what was this supposed to accomplish? Other than being deliberately hurtful, I mean. And if that was your intent, what justification did you give yourself to do so?

I would really prefer not to do so.

Really? I get that from the OP in the story, but reading through the comment threads it appears she has come to accept that what she said was bigoted, though it came from ignorance/misinformation, not maliciousness. The last response from the OP on the first comment thread was something like "oh, I didn't realize I was being bigoted." Unless I'm misreading, I'm on mobile and it's easy to make that mistake. I do agree that the word salad arguments didn't make much sense to me, but they appear to …

Some of the arguments lost me. For instance, I have no understanding of the term "intersectuality." However, most of the comments I saw were very egalitarian and made sense, even if they were framed in ways that feel more like political debates than standard opinions. The only real red flag I saw was the removal of so many posts, and that's due to a sub rule that is logical, even if I can see how it could have unintended consequences.

It very possibly could kill us to understand a womans anger. Men "deserve" fair and equal treatment under the law and by society, same as women. Please, enumerate what injustice you are speaking about, in a western society. Good idea on the book. May I recommend this one? https://www.amazon.com/Women-Vs-Feminism-Liberating-Gender/dp/1787144763 Written by a woman, as requested. :)

... okay. I'll accept that. I still disagree slightly, I have met a couple folks who got out and mentioned their diagnosis, but you're more right than wrong here. I read that as everyone who says they have the diagnosis AT ALL, not... well, what you meant

Sir! Sir! I have great news! The trenches are gone! The war has been over for 100 years, and we won! ...Since I can only assume you're a WW1 general complaining that "shellshock" is just malingering. PTSD exists. It's not nearly as prevalent as self-diagnosed internet commenters would have you believe, but to say it doesn't exist/those suffering are idiots is the height of folly and ignorance, not to mention incredibly disrespectful towards the troops (you know, those brave men and women who vol…

Ah. Apologies. You have nothing to contribute but ad hominem attacks. I wish you a good day.

You literally stated they had a badge (so cop), then someone corrected you that it was a lawyer, and now you're calling them a judge. The only comment is from a public defender. You've been wrong 2/3 posts on who is speaking, and you're still insulting someone who is on your side. There is no judge mentioned, and the public defender is correctly stating that the justice system is biased against men.

Maybe I'm misreading it, but it looks like she sees the sexism inherent in the "justice" system and is calling it for what it is. Pointing out something that exists doesn't mean you agree with it.

Why the insult? The person writing the comment isnt necessarily female, and whoever it was was stating there isn't much equality in the criminal justice system. They're agreeing with you. Using a anti-female slur for a MRA ally isn't a good look at all.

Why do you feel the need to say this? What does it gain you?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
