Those studies are over 15 and over 50 years old. Who teaches this shit? When I took sociology courses we only used studies that were within 5 years unless literally nothing else existed.

I thought places like hooters got around this by saying that their wait staff was a "performance type roll" and thus certain characteristics were required. Similar to how I could not sue a strip club got refusing me a position as a dancer.

Exactly my thought. While I think that there are serious issues for both genders, things like this is no different than a joke about women being poor drivers. It's not meant as actual discrimination. It's just a joke in good fun.

One of my high school friends used to say that "if a guy proposes he better have at least a $10k ring or it's a flat no." I told her she was shallow and would never get married. The worst part is she came from a poor family so I have no idea where she got the entitlement mentality from.

The problem is that we have to balance how much we question victims with their credibility. A rape accusation will always ruin a man's life to some extent. While I can see that being an issue with other things (XKCD, random pictures, etc.), Explosm water marks their comics so the source is made clear.
