I would say in men who have/want families this is 100% the cause. There is also the social "dick measuring" of look at all my cool shit I can buy with my high paying job. I think the fact that men have been conditioned to see themselves as the breadwinner for millenia certainly has an effect. Thankfully more women are making their way into male dominated fields, helping to close the "wage gap". And in my experience a large portion of younger women are working towards these types of jobs. Back when I used Facebook I always silently reported them. I remember one girl going on a tirade about people reporting pictures of her sweet little angle, as she re-upload them. I think it's more that the spouse cheated and lied about it. It's not like when you decide to adopt a kid together. Maybe if she came clean before the birth they could've worked something out, but to trick him into supporting and raising a kid that's not his is fucked up. That being said they're both assholes in this situation. There was a million other ways he could've gone about this without the false hope and buildup.

Idk man, I'm generalizing here. But most guys I know respect women much more than the women I know. Like 99% of the women I know all say girls are way worse. I completely believe that, it's happened to quite a few people I know. It's fucked up that we live in a society where women think it's ok to do that shit, and the courts have a tendency to side with the woman regardless of evidence. I swear it seems like there is a story like this at least once a week on reddit. Plus it only takes away from the real victims. As false accusations become more and more commonplace, people are going to be less likely to believe people who have actually been raped.
