The gap isn't as much as it used to be. At this point women in the 25 - 34 age group are earning 93% of what men of the same age are. In the 80s it was closer to 75%. So yes, if the man makes more then he will pay, and that is more common than the alternative. But it is not uncommon for the woman to be the higher earner, which will result in her paying alimony and/or child support to the man.

the age of consent across the entire U.S. is 18 years of age and states can allow it to be 16 as long as the parties are 16-18. I'm pretty sure that's exactly how it works. That is not how it works. It is completely up to the states. Some have an age of consent that is lower than 18 as long as the other person is close to the same age, but other states just have fixed ages of consent. This reminds me of my grandparents. They divorced before I was born, and both have remarried, but my grandfather still comes to most family events at my grandmother's house. They are civil, and get along fine, even though she really has every right to hate him. I think gender specific grants are a great way to get men and women access to courses normally 1 sided. Yeah...maybe sometimes. But, they also are fucked up in other instances. Source: I'm a single father (full custody) and want to go finish a degree. There are lots of scholarships and grants for single mothers...but it seems that a lot legitimately are for specifically single MOTHERS and not single parents in general.

Well, it is unfair to lump all black American women together. There is I credible diversity here, even within groups that seem closely connected. But, I know what you mean.
