Lol I don't recall what the original topic was, and I'm too burnt out from dealing with real life stuff to bother to remind myself. But I do know that this whole "blame women as some monolith" online trope that this sub seems incapable of escaping as a topic of conversation, to me, seems like a great way for algorithms to continue to push divisive narratives that increase those companies profits, while simultaneously increasing the likelihood that the people that subscribe to those views, feel m…

Lmao. I'm still factually correct with my reply to the above person's comment. His side note was inaccurate. And that makes it distracting without being efficient. I was correcting HIM. I was not however, trying to correct you. If you had made the comment I was replying to, you would have a point. But me stepping in, to point out that all the evidence the above commenter used to support the original claim, happens to be inaccurate, isn't actually the same thing. It's me saying "hey your evidence…

I believe the more recent stats do suggest there is a change in the tide...which makes sense given that previously what allowed the numbers to be so skewed in men's favor was that they were less inherently tied the consequences of it (they didn't have to worry about pregnancy, being left destitute and such bc of it and being unable to work to support themselves). Hormonal birth control changed that. However, higher testosterone and more delayed frontal lobe development in men, suggests that shor…

Not the same. Cheating actually is gendered, bc statistically men have higher rates of cheating than women. It's something that can be to some extent quantified, as opposed to the subjective perspectives that a man and a woman may differ on (which you can't quantify as easily). Whether your actual point is valid or not, I'm not interested in getting into lol. Simply suggesting that you may want to use another example to share your argument, since the cheating example doesn't really work.

I’m a millennial woman, and in real life and on my Reddit, I don’t see any of my fellow millennial women complaining about age gap relationships, or having any negative view of younger women as “competition.” I see most younger women as being in a completely different phase of their life than me, one that I’ve already experienced. And that’s what I see the other millennial women viewing it as too. Are you sure this perception of yours isn’t just a social media feedback loop you’re getting bc the…

Sees daily in real life happening in real time? Or “sees daily” as in on social media and Reddit where the algorithm is constantly working to gain and maintain your attention, and the image that can ultimately portray may actually be molded by what your particular brain seems to put attention into (therefore creating more and more results that seem to suggest it’s a consistent reality/norm in real life…but it may not be).

Yeah well it should, esp if you have children with the person. Having children as a woman in relationship without that legal protection, leaves you incredibly vulnerable financially, medically, and physically. Nature did not evenly distribute the burdens of pregnancy and childbirth, and we still don’t have many legal protections for women who birth children outside of marriage (shout-out to Utah for being one of the only states to require that both parents share childbirth medical expenses at th…

It’s called trauma bonding and it’s literally the same chemical response in the brain as stockholms syndrome. Might want to look into it.

You’re missing a crucial detail (one you yourself mention) so blatantly that it’s almost painful for me to read. You literally say that she had a honeymoon period with him and then after that it slowly increased in abuse. So he trauma bonded her to him (that’s a real thing, look it up), and you can’t see how that warped her perspective and experience, and hope that this initially perfect person he gave her and still gave her small glimpses of would come back? Have you ever experienced a woman be…

I read that other thread and with all due respect Dude, your thought process in that one sounded like you’re struggling with the ability to put cohesive thoughts together. Most people don’t stay with their first, but since most of them are NOT the ones falling into this category (meaning they did have sexual experience at an age that it was still the norm), because they have higher hormones and more life to live for a longer part of that connection. We technically don’t really know how a world that is vastly different socially from even a generation ago, will cope with an increase in individuals with very little sexual experience at an older age. But it’s definite…

This was certainly previously true, but there seems to be an indication that the younger generations are growing up more isolated and less sexually engaged than Gen X and older Millennials. So I wonder if that will impact those in their 30s who aren’t experienced, and mean there’s a larger portion of individuals who either have no, or very limited, sexual and romantic relationship experience in their dating pool, effectively bringing up that “normal” age of what seems unusual to something more w…

No, you’re missing my point completely. I wasn’t referring to how my personal worth felt, nor how gay men felt. I was trying to give you a more equivalent comparison to how being a woman on a dating site might feel and what she is likely to value and how that sexual attention will likely feel.

This isn’t technically the case. Not if you look at the complexities involved in attraction. I’d imagine that part of the reason why a lot of women are opting out of dating at all is that a lot of what they have historically been attracted to aren’t good men, and they would rather be alone than be with someone who isn’t a good man. But unfortunately, that doesn’t mean she will be attracted to the good men she comes across. And that attraction doesn’t make those women bad women, but it may speak …

I would feel like it was an indication that he needed to do trauma therapy prior to dating, and that he was being deeply unfair to me by putting those emotions on my plate to solve in that moment. He’d be putting it psychologically on the person he is trying to build something positive with, right before an intimate moment that leaves ME, the smaller female, at the physical disadvantage, where simply my engaging in it is an inherent display of trust in him or a desire to trust in him. The idea t…

I think it depends on the person, and how her physical attractions work (not generally something fully within our control). For me personally, I don’t really enjoy staying friends with people who I would want to be in a relationship with bc it weakens my ability to show up in the ways I want to as a friend if my feelings turn romantic. I know some people can do this, but I’m not one of them. I also have a few friends who think they can do this, but it’s always obvious to me when they are lying t…

I think what you’re missing is that women will be friends with men we find both attractive and unattractive. And the physical attractiveness doesn’t mean we want to be in a relationship with them (I find one of my closest male friends very attractive physically, but we have very different values for long term, and I wouldn’t ruin the friendship for something short term). While what a lot of people in this thread are trying to highlight, is that often, men will only be friends with women they alr…

Lol your vision of equity (or perhaps your presumption of what equity will mean for as I see it), is that women will automatically get paid more than men? That’s how you think what’s equitable would work as I had described it? (Talk about short sighted…) What specifically in my initial comment gave you that impression? Shallow and short sighted? How? I haven’t the faintest idea how that could be your interpretation of anything I said. So explain it to me like I’m 5, please.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/02/25 09:47 PM

I’d argue that women demanded “equitable” treatment - meaning some areas the same as men where appropriate, but some altered to account for the impacts that our sex differences have on our lives (like the time off we may take for having children, and how that will impact everything from our income to our social security payouts), but what we got was “equality” bc people are generally too stunted and selfish to really understand the various details of how sex differences impact our lives. But the…

Lol when did any of us say that?? I sure as shhhh didn’t 😂 I’m attracted to people that take care of their bodies. I put effort into being healthy, into fitness, into nutrition, etc. And since I began that about 10 yea ago, I tend to find myself attracted physically to men who pour into their own health in similar ways. As for the latter, that’s what women say they WANT - meaning in the person they are ALREADY attracted to. It’s not what they are attracted to per se, but part of the treatment th…

It’s only women that birth men into this world. You think there aren’t plenty of mothers, daughters, sisters and wives that care about their male loved one and their best interests being protected? If you want a law to be in place, go rally together, market it to the masses in a way that shows them the validity of the argument, and convince state representatives to help bring it to a vote in your jurisdiction.

Or back to my initial comment of preventing all that with hormonal contraception pills for men
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 04:35 AM

Men do, but it stops with their ejaculation if it goes into another person’s body. Nature didn’t evenly distribute the burdens of pregnancy, and until it does, the legal protection of choice for a baby can’t be “even” either.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/12/24 02:13 AM

So start voting for elected officials who will ensure that a male hormonal contraceptive comes to market. Then you’ll have similar control that women do before making the abortion choice. Then it’s more about two people both choosing to be sexually active and hoping their birth control works as expected…

You say that as if a man who doesn’t want kids can’t get a vasectomy or a man who doesn’t want kids with that woman can’t wear a condom. He has a responsibility to protect the future he wants. You’re making it sound like these men are just meek lil lambs who had no control over themselves. Do not nut in her raw if you don’t want a child. Period. Women have to protect themselves from their potential to get pregnant when they have sex. And that’s why women became more promiscuous to begin with - b…

Lol where did you get “self righteous baby killing fury”? I’m a woman who is pretty romantically traditional, who can’t imagine going through an abortion in the case of rape, and who has only ever wanted to be a mother (I teach at a pre-K…and I can assure you, it’s not for the pay lol). So don’t make assumptions on where I stand with abortions. I care that women get uncompromised medical reproductive care BECAUSE I care about babies. Let’s just make something clear before I address your response. This would be an argument potentially worth having if the medical/reproductive autonomy of women’s body’s wasn’t something men were so willing to sacrifice to the wolves. The moment the threat to the ability, right to have, and access to a D&C medical procedure ends up under scrutiny for women and medical professionals, what men want to happen in pregnancy becomes an almost laughable entitled topic to bother discussing. Because with…
/r/PurplePillDebate21/12/24 03:05 AM

How is it artificially tilting in the favor of women to allow women to be the ones who decide if they move forward with a viable pregnancy. You just said that biological differences mean men carry certain physical weights that women don’t, and the same is true in reverse - with women carrying the weight of the potential to get pregnant, to have to make a decision about it, to have her body changed from it and to have the impact of pregnancy, childbirth and it’s recovery. So why would that biolog…

I think the commenter was referring to you running with another woman and things with your wife escalating negatively since then. He’s likely implying that if you see a clear distinction in behavior from your wife from before you started something that she doesn’t seem too happy about, perhaps you should rethink routining lighting that fire (i.e. find another running buddy or do it solo).

The people who are “cuck,” are they married and building a life with someone who seems to love them and that they seems to love back? In comparison to these “cucks,” are you single and alone? With all due respect, given your post 100 days ago about how the future of partnership is with AI partners, I don’t think you’re exactly the model for how one should judge healthy human romantic relationships… and I’m not saying that to be mean, I’m simply suggesting that perhaps you would be better served …

I was referencing “the generations of men” who “created the system” when I then mentioned men “repeatedly voting” for certain policies. It wasn’t aimed at assuming who you specifically voted for, nor the current post election political climate in the US.

So you’re suggesting that generations of American men created a system that put American women in a super uncomfortable and unsafe position, and rather than stepping up and dealing with it and helping the American women fix it, American men are going overseas to seek out women who have the safety net that American men repeatedly voted for Americans (and American women) not to have? Makes you wonder if they’ve ever met any of the women they are pointing to. I think American men who think this way tend to misunderstand that traditional values doesn’t necessarily correlate with submissive and gentle because life doesn’t generally treat most people or their families with kid gloves. Gentle and submissive, means that that individual’s ability to be gentle and submissive is protected somehow, without life having the opportunity to harden them.

I’m a woman and I’m horny 24/7/365, not just selected parts of my cycle…and my standards are high AF. I’d rather get myself off alone than lower them. Go read my last comment that explains this in more detail. You’re equating “libido” with “spontaneous desire/lack of sexual disgust” which is specifically testosterone driven. “Libido” with “responsive desire” like mine is for the most part, still has a heavy sexual disgust factor. It doesn’t make it any less consuming or intense of a feeling/expe…

No, men just have lower levels of sexual disgust (this has been studied, and has nothing to do with a desire to have sex with a partner, for women this just creates selection parameters meant to remove less desirable mating prospects so she would reproduce with those who are likely to care for her offspring and had opposite immunities to blend with). Also, a big part of what you’re talking about is “arousal” not libido. Women are more likely to experience arousal through “responsive desire,” whi…

If someone feels like they don’t like the thought of having to accept things their partner did things prior to them being in the picture, they can make that clear early on or seek out someone with only their same level of experience. I’ve only seen women who have previously tried sexual things they really didn’t like or felt coerced into by the “exciting but not very protective of her needs” guy, and then felt safe enough to not be pressured into those same things by the “safe guy.” So if the issue is solely focused around “does she let me do xyz with her” then sure, the safe guy may feel like he is losing out somehow on those experiences. But if you love your partner and generally, that particular sexual action isn’t a deal…

Just an FYI, there’s an entire subset of Dominant/submissive dynamics that overlaps with a lot of the “Princess” terminology you’re using. Also, given the casualness of dating these days, I’d be careful about assuming that women who express wanting such treatment want anything other than a man who treats them with kindness and consideration, while simply still taking care of himself. Why is it that opinions like this, seem to suggest that women on a societal level should collectively lower their standards for the benefit of all men, rather than suggesting that for the same betterment of society, that all men become better in order to be the type of men those women are willing to be with? Why is the self sacrifice always the expectation of womanhood? It’s not enough that their bodies create quite literally all of mankind and sacrifice those bodies and most valued (by society)…

Dude, that is some malignant ego driven behavior/thinking that you should probably go to therapy for. And I don’t even mean that in an unkind way, I mean that in a “I hope you can grow from feeling that type of intentional negativity towards those women, and get to a place where you feel simply at peace with who you are now, without that resentment tied to it” type of way. Because that’s a lot of negative energy to hold onto for women you don’t even seem to like.

Why not just actually communicate and enforce your own boundaries with them? I’m not sure why you would feel contempt and judgement for them just because you want different things from one another. Dating for women inherently tends to include far more hypervigilance during that “process” than it does for men. Plus when women have fun with dating they are often on a societal level judged negatively for it in ways men aren’t. Additionally, if they sleep with the person, they have a much higher likelihood of not orgasming from the encounter than a man does. So women not enjoying “the process” of dating in the way you’re suggesting, makes sense if you can actually consider how life and dating …

Serious question - if plenty of the men that are “out of a woman’s league” still show interest in her, how does she actually know those specific men are out of her league and not just incompatible in some way? Where is this imaginary line that men think women ignore? I’d imagine that in the scenarios that you’re referring to, the actual real life experience of that woman is to feel pursued by someone she’s deeply attracted to, but it doesn’t work out how she’d hoped? It technically depends on the court district. The more conservative the court district is politically, the harder it is for fathers to get 50-50. But bc a lot of densely populated areas lean progressive politically, and the total number of custody cases that award 50-50 custody ends up being inherently higher in the overall nation. I’m going to sleep, I don’t care enough about this topic to spend more time going down rabbit holes, much less trying to prove I’m right about my own experiences (which is the only thing I initially referred to). There’s an enormous difference between suggesting all young women steer clear, and pointing out to those young women that ARE in those relationships that there’s an enormous and inherent power imbalance in age gap relationships. There simply is. That’s reality, not malice. Making young women aware of those complexities allows those women to make informed decisions and that means that if they stay in those age gaped relationships, they are hopefully better able to advocate for themselves and prot…

Are there toxic men of all ages? Also, yes. But let’s remember that society only decided to highlight and make movies about the awful stepMOTHERS, rarely ever about the awful stepfathers. Not even one woman over 40 that I know cares enough to be jealous, they are all confident and could not give les of a F***….But…ALL of them have at one point been the teenage girl who older men paid too much attention to and they recognize how vast the life experience difference was and how strong the power imbalance was looking back on it. You do realize that what she was doing wasn’t a manipulation, right? It’s fairly normal for people to tend to “show” their love in the way they like to receive it. If something makes you feel most loved and valued, you tend to unconsciously do similar things for the person you’re with, and women esp tend to show their love in the ways they want to be loved bc that’s simply what feels loving to them personally. If it wasn’t what made YOU feel loved, that’s perfectly okay, but then it’s your respo…

First, I think it depends on what you mean by “safe option.” When most people hear it, they think of it as the backup plan that wasn’t really wanted, so the individual was chosen as accepting a loss, and no one wants to be identified as that to their partner. So if that’s what you’re referring to, I think that both men and women can hear something like that and feel a sense of protection towards the partner being labeled that way, bc they know they want to feel like they were chosen bc they were…

If you care about men’s issues, create a group that works to change those issues, stop getting mad at women for working on their own issues instead of men’s. Feminism isn’t supporting an outlook where men “should” be suspected of being abusers. It’s about the addressing the differences and how the challenges of womanhood are different than that of a man’s. The issue with even this take though (and living in the society we have today in general where we don’t have as much family around or close knit communities), is that watching a kid all day may not entail tons of intellectual stimulation, but you can’t leave the kid to attend to chores all day. You think it’s a blame thing? It’s not, it’s about what gets a woman turned on, and just like you can’t help what turns you on, a woman can’t help what turns her on. And it’s not all about novelty, it’s about effort and seducing her mind and fantasies before expecting access to her body. It’s about exploring her, evolving with her, and actively putting practices into place where you preserve and prioritize time for that part of your lives together. It’s about making sure everything kid and home …

She pulled the videos off her device. I have an entire normal album of my ex (not sexual), and all it would do would remind me of how abusive he was, so I never look at it and it’s in storage. But it’s still mine, and up to me when and if I throw it out.

It’s not sexual favors. You have no idea what she enjoyed and didn’t and why should she be retraumatized and in pain all over again to prove her love to you? How entitled to her body and sacrifice of her body do you think you are? This is appalling...

That’s so so fucked up. …

YESSSS! I LOVE her audiobook! It’s like my favorite subject to learn about combined with her cute Belgium/French accent is happiness for my brain lol. I’ve watched her videos too, and I also keep meaning to listen to her other book, The State of Affairs. Have you listened to that one yet?

Well said. And I love Esther Perel (I just mentioned her in my comment above before reading yours...great minds...). That woman is my idol lol, her books are amazing, so I’ll definitely second that sentiment.

I believe there have been studies that suggest that while men are more likely to end up in a physical affair, women are more likely to leave the relationship emotionally or psychologically first (but separately from them engaging emotionally or physically outside of the partnership with someone else). It’s possible that the statistics of men’s infidelity being higher are also partly due to the fact that the sexual revolution post birth control is still evolving and so that could change over time…
