I was raped and reported it within 12 hrs to police. They tested his DNA in the rape kit, took photos of my bruises and injuries, there were witnesses to the lead up, CCTV of him groping me, and his denial that he did anything (i.e. he didn't claim it was consensual, he claimed he didn't do anything sexual - clearly contradicted by the rape kit). Police have done nothing, no arrest, not even submitting a request to make the arrest. It's been years now. They have told me to think about my career …

Sexual objectification is viewing someone ONLY as a sexual object, of course it has mesning. Men suffer from being objectified too, i.e. not being seen as a person but only for their services offered like money, bodyguard, choremaid etc. It cuts both ways...

What if someone is so incapacitated they don't know where they are, what's happening, losing consciousness etc?

Final comment; I was raped. There's cctv and witnesses (who knew the rapist) and DNA evidence and photos of my injuries and incriminating text messages from the rapist to the witnesses. Police took over 11 months to even take witness statements. They still haven't arrested the rapist. They don't give a shit and don't think sexual violence is a big deal. Im not sure what your experience is, but being raped wrecked my life. The police being "too busy" to give a shit has made the trauma worse. Perp…

If police charge the wrong man, it's not necessarily the woman who has made the false allegation. Charges are laid by the state (where I am anyway). I'm arguing against the tenet your title relies on which states that women lying about rape is more common than genuine allegations. As discussed above your DNA figures aren't even proof of that. My main point is that misrepresenting stats to talk about a real issue isn't helpful to anyone, including to male victims of rape. Looking at your post his…

So a woman is raped, the police bring in the wrong guy, and he's absolved of the crime from dna evidence. You understand that a rape still occurred right? That's not a false claim of rape, it's shoddy police work. Again... What's your aim with this whole thread??

How else can you quantify false accusations without proving they're false??
/r/MensRights28/06/24 05:46 AM

How can DNA prove anything other than whether they caught the right man? It doesn't mean that a rape didn't occur??

Why are you cherrypicking though? Why not acknowledge the other studies as well? Focusing on always talking about false allegations negatively impacts men who come forward too, in reality real rape is common and horrific for men and women. I don't know what your agenda here.

OP should feel bad for misrepresenting that then?

The FBI figures linked at 8% are from representative samples, 90s but still more recent that the '85 OP is claiming

I haven't found any data thats anywhere close to replicating those numbers, most report in that 8-10% mark of reported incidents, and this article does talk about the reasons for false accusations (which are mostly teenagers): https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-45565684

It could be argued that if two people have unprotected sex, they are both consenting to the consequences if one gets pregnant. Even though with protection accidents can still happen, that's not what happens most of the time. I don't necessarily agree with this argument, as I'm not educated enough yet to come to a valid opinion. I do agree with your point in the last paragraph. I think education around fatherhood and how much of a joy it can be as well as a stress (especially portrayed in the med…

To an extent I agree, however Men do not need "discipline" to look after their children - they need society to take their fatherhood, and their humanity, seriously. I think while this has good intentions, unfortunately many men (and some women) still do leave voluntarily and I think you've tried to undermine that point with the 'stealing sperm' argument. There's still the problem of fathers just leaving and not even meeting their children... what do you suggest is done about that?
/r/MensRights25/05/15 07:13 PM

I agree definitely with that last statement, but want to add that it might have something to do with how few single fathers there are compared to single mothers. I think the perception should be that single parents need help, and those trying to avoid responsibility for their offspring need discipline (not necessarily jail time).

(I think you've replied to the wrong comment) My sperm donor Wait are they supposed to pay child support?
/r/MensRights25/05/15 09:33 AM

I agree that that's not he right way to deal with it, but I'd like to point out that if a woman can't afford to look after her children then she's not treated to a luxury condo like the photo says. She has her kids taken off her, and either fined or put in prison for neglect. So I think the picture is just as bad as a lot of the feminist 'facts-out-of-the-ass-ographics".

Oh my gosh that thread is awful. I think people need to rethink what rape means.

Thank you, I have no idea how that scene can be interpreted to be anything other than rape. Oh well, maybe I'm just offending poor souls who practise this behaviour regularly and don't like me calling them rapists.

I don't remember her saying yes, I remember her saying she wants to please her new husband, but not necessarily wanting to have sex with him.

Sansa consented to the sex. That's her willingness. At no point did she say "no" or struggle. She may not have liked him, but she agreed to the sex. Her cries were probably because it hurt losing her virginity. Consent isn't the lack of 'no', consent is a clear 'yes'. Sansa did NOT consent.

Ummm a lot of female genital mutilation is removal of the clitoris. That removes one entire venue for orgasm and many women can't orgasm from penetration alone. Please cite more evidence of negative sexual impact for male circumcision than there is for female because I'm highly skeptical of that. Also with female circumcision they often sew the vaginal opening closed so the future husband can see whether she's a virgin. When that rips open it can lead to a huge variety of complications.

Also the difference between female and male genital mutilation is huge. A large majority of women couldn't orgasm if they were circumcised, but circumcised men can.

No I didn't say his substance was less valuable, just people who hold opposing views will see this substance as being of a lesser quality because of the poor style.

I don't mind the points he's making, but reading that article in a stupid voice and being really childish just makes him look immature and annoying. I see the double standard, but he's making anyone who agrees with him seem like a dickhead just because he's being so irritating.

Female here too, and I'm a sub because I love to see the other perspective from what I see of feminists on tumblr etc, and it keeps me with a balanced view (I believe anyway).

If that guy was hot it might, generally it's typically girls that society deem attractive who get cat-called. Women wouldn't cat call a man though in a group, more likely just check him out from a distance.

I'm very confused, I completely agree with you but it seems like my original comment wasn't worded very well. I meant to say that this sub picks to pieces 'feminists' who attack Men's Rights for no reason (and rightly so). But if we put down women who are actually pushing for equality, and who label themselves feminists, I don't think that's a move in the direction of equality. Is that clearer?
/r/MensRights27/01/14 05:26 AM
2

It's not... but if you look at my comment in context, the guy above me said You can't be too anti-feminist Which is what my comment is in response to, I fully agree with OP.
/r/MensRights27/01/14 05:21 AM

If you want equality, but put them down, isn't that exactly why this sub picks them to pieces most of the time? Equality isn't 'Us vs Them', it's about accepting our differences as different but equal.

These people call themselves feminsts but are in reality just bitches who are misrepresenting an entire movement of sane people who just want people no matter what gender to be treated equally.

I think another issue I have with this (beside the very valid point you make) is that we're trying to make kids grow up too fast.
