People who pride themselves on being pragmatic and rational also potentially pride themselves on entertaining new arguements that appeal to their pragmatism and rationality.

Marriage is more than that. There are many pragmatic reasons for getting married, and a few very pragmatic reasons for a wedding. To be married: Tax breaks. Paperwork. Financial dependency. Governmental recognition of relationship regarding wills, etc. The wedding: ceremony and symbols mean something. There is a reason people have change of command ceremonies and inauguration ceremonies in government. It is a formalization of something and literally the exact opposite of casual. Holding a weddin…

I know guys' opinions here aren't generally encouraged. However, as a man, with many male friends, platonic cuddle makeout buddy is just not really a thing... It's definitely something a large portion of men will want to escalate to more.

1000% that is what I am suggesting. Parenting is hard, and he is trying, from the sound of things, he is trying REALLY HARD. The LAST thing you should do is swoop in and undermine his efforts. His ways are just as valid as yours, so long as they are sincere and come from a place of love, which it sounds like they do. Let him be a dad. Honestly... if the crying is REALLY getting to you, I would do two things. Talk with him BEFORE HAND about some soothing techniques. "Babe, when baby cries, I do X…

That's exactly what I needed when my kids were young and I was a new dad. I was doing everything I could think of to bond with them, and it felt like they hated me and I felt like a terrible father who could do nothing right! Luckily, my wife swooped in and took the baby, told me I was doing it wrong and confirmed those fears I had! So now I let her do all that and just don't try anymore. I guess I'll check back in when they can catch a baseball. /s, BTW.

The men in your life are supposed to lift you up and become the best version of yourself. Provide and be a captain. This man sounds like he is only dragging you down, and will only continue to drag you down through life. RP is not incompatable with women who want careers. But this man seems to be.

I know. I am a Naval officer. It is difficult on many. However, the military officer corps is a great place to start for high quality men and women with an incredible work ethic and sense of duty and service. The job is hard, but their dedication to their commitments, as a general rule, is second to none.

Because it guarantees specialness of the male. Rarely are men overtly given attention and validation. There is very little in life, as a man, to make you feel special. Innocence in your partner is intrinsically loomed to being special, since they perpetually experience new things with you.

Because division of labor for many things makes the most sense. Even in a 2 person household, it doesn't always make sense to double the number of loads of laundry, but to consolidate them and do them together.

It's not about a crime against a person. It's more about a crime against society. The thought process is similar to outlawing gambling. It protects society from becoming something the majority of the local citizens don't want. I. E. Living in Vegas et al. What do you mean by blame? That is the crux of things. Simping is degrading and screams of a lack of self respect. I wouldn't do it. Being a slut is nasty, but it makes money. If I had a pussy and could slut it around, I might do it, might not. Some women do it just fine. But what is blame? It is a situation two adults enter into willingly. On either side, the only person maybe to blame is the party that is lying, and the only one who COULD place blame is the party being lied to. So, in that reg…

On what grounds is it worth fighting for? You are making a lot of sweeping generalization there. Incidentally, you have condoms. You can pull out. You can do anal. You can bang mouths. There are lots of ways to have sex with no babies involved. So, I don't even really agree with your base premise. Then, on top of that, I also disagree with your concept of it being "worth fighting for." What, exactly, does it gain us? As an individual? As a species?

Yes, yelling at people from your car is dumb. Agreed. The likelihood that it is going to get you a candle light dinner is zero. But to call this harassment, it say that it is actually meaningfully damaging to someone? Nope. The whole point you're basing your premise on is that it is a dumb, flippant remark. I agree.

This is retarded. Women literally stay with men who beat them. That is a common scenario. They love them/are attached to them so much that they get regularly beaten and refuse to leave. Women are faster to get over a breakup because you aren't that special, and they can easily replace you. That doesn't mean love doesn't make a fool of them while they are in the throes of it though. Men take longer to get over a breakup because they CAN'T replace women as easily. Simple as that.

If I'm not good enough for her to fuck, then she can walk. I'm open to fill whatever needs she has. I'll fuck like a hurricane, whenever she wants it. If that ain't enough, then I need to get better. If she needs more than the best I can give, then she can walk. And vise versa

Why would anyone want to date you? What makes you better than anyone else? Because in your heart of hearts, you know that you HAVE to be better than someone else in order to have someone else love you. You have to be better than anyone else that girl can get. Bettering yourself is the key to getting women. Then, once you're that, you have to find someone worth it for you. Now who's good enough for you? Are they worth all the effort that you put in? Probably not. Most people aren't. Focus on you.…

Yeah. I think we're on the same page. I can easily see the arguement that the guy on deployment would be unhappy with his long-term relationship, since the spouse wasn't there. And not just a sex thing, but a general lack of intimacy. Even if everything else about the relationship was great, the lack of intimacy could redefine the relationship as "unhappy." It IS a thing people do. You're right. But it is also a thing that many people actively DON'T do. It's hard, sometimes, but it IS possible to stifle that impulse control. /r/PurplePillDebate04/12/19 04:23 AM

Then I think you might be being a bit extreme. The way you are phrasing things makes it seems like it is primarily subconscious and that it is inevitable. I think it is neither. Quite simply, if women want to be treated like men, then sure, let's give it a go. They won't like it. Conversely, however, women that have their femininity in tact can easily stop find men who will value that and treat them like women.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/19 10:46 AM

I can get on board with that. I'm basically off the mindset that if you want to play with the boys, don't expect special treatment. If you are going to inject yourself into male dominated spaces, don't expect to be treated like a lady.

I generally agree with what you're saying, but I don't understand what you mean by defective men. If a woman wants to do a job, she will be judged on her performance. If that is lacking, OH well. Fair enough. I even asked for clarification in the post I sent. I couldn't tell which side she was asking for. Regardless, they really are kinda two sides of the same coin. I thought my analogy works well in both ways.

Lol. I mean, I like eating! Sometimes granola is fine. It makes me feel good about myself, that I didn't pick the candy. But eventually, you have to eat what you like and realize the metaphor has gone to far. I'm sure your granola is delicious ;)

No specific ideal. I mean, to each their own. But I would generalize as sexy, freak, who is loyal, will be a good wife and mom to our kids. Gets my jokes, laughs with me, calls me on my bullshit, but is there as a partner. Good feminine energy. And sexy.
/r/RedPillWomen11/03/19 04:01 AM

I mean, it isn't a prefect analogy. Basically, candy = sluts, granola = boring women, steak = lady in streets/freak in the sheets i.e. top tier women, good for the long term.

I know all the things you are saying, man. I don't think it invalidates my initial point. TRP is amoral. I wasn't saying that trying to make a point. I was saying it because it was literally the slogan for the sub. Just giving the definition.
/r/RedPillWomen11/03/19 03:05 AM
-1

Eh, I think that is kinda advanced TRP. I agree with those sentiments, etc. But it only talks about outcome independence because that independence is attractive to women. TRP is, by definition, an amoral sexual strategy for men. It is not MGTOW. I think the outcome independence, fulfilling nature and being better is the natural end-game of TRP, because men like that are who women want to bang. But, again, by definition, TRP is a sexual strategy for men, NOT a life enrichment program. It just so …
/r/RedPillWomen11/03/19 02:11 AM

I think the justice done to TRP is done as a secondary part to the main goal of TRP. If being a worse dude were the key to getting laid, TRP would espouse that. It just so happens, lifting, embracing your masculinity, and being a BAMF are what get you women. Kinda like the best way yo trick or treat is to have a great costume and be really happy at the door.
/r/RedPillWomen11/03/19 01:49 AM

Do you want to understand TRP for men, or TRPW? From a man's perspective: Men like to have sex. Lots of it. If you are a young man, looking for sex consumes a huge percentage of your brain activity. TRP is a set of guidelines to help you have more sex. Nothing more. Eventually, most guys get bored with that. And, frankly, most men want something more in life than notches on their bedposts. Most men, IMO, actually DO want companionship and the love of a woman. (TRP is not really geared towards th…

You are characterizing things so broadly that you can literally make them mean anything. Your original premise, that gender doesn't matter in a long term partner, is asinine. The traits you mention are genderless, but they are NOT the only traits that matter. All of those things are nice, but I also want a sexy woman with tits and a vagina. Long term, I want that. Your last statement is correct. BUT, them being above others doesn't mean you have to treat them like it.

That is asinine. Normal people doesn't mean you don't want anything from them. Imagine it like it were a guy celebrity, and you wanted his autograph. Do you fawn over him like some junior high school bitch, or treat him like any other guy?

Because it gets you women. Treating sports like complex systems, instead of games. Let's you analyze them differently and win more often. It might make them less fun, but you win more. If your goal is to fuck women, realizing that most of them are less interesting than your guy friends will help you reach that goal. If your goal changes afterwards, that isn't the tactics fault.

Women do come to exactly that conclusion. "Men are dogs" is an incredibly common narrative amongst women. Are all men dogs? No. But they have the capacity to be. That, and AWALT, is a heuristic used to help in the dating world. It isn't meant to be literal, just to frame you're interactions and understand the capacity. Taking women off a pedestal and AWALT are the same basic comparison.

no worries. like... the important thing to remember is that your wedding has very little bearing on your actual marriage. If you are honestly on the fence... do this. Elope. with a few very close friends and family, elope. Then, a year later, have a crazy big party where you renew your vows on your anniversary. I would bet, that a year later, you decide not to have the party.

/r/RedPillWives30/08/18 01:48 AM
1

Look, when I got married, I very quickly didn't care anything about spending the day with the guests. I just got married! I wanted to spend the time with my wife! Fuck the guests. Seriously, a giant wedding is for the family, not the couple. You have to understand whether you want to BE married or GET married.
/r/RedPillWives30/08/18 01:46 AM

It's your wedding. You shouldn't remember it only because you spent 40k. You should remember it because it meant something.
/r/RedPillWives30/08/18 01:39 AM

Unless you are literally making enough money for it to not matter... Look. When the day is done, whether you elope or go all out, you are just two married people. I have never known of anyone to get divorced because they had a lackluster wedding. But I've known a few good many to happen over debt. Maybe I'm just a spoil sport but... I mean, for 40k, fly your p parents and best friends to st Simons and live like kings for two weeks. Really fucking DO something with the money.
/r/RedPillWives30/08/18 01:38 AM
5

One night. One. Night. It's absolutely not worth it. Not in the slightest. Ask yourself this: if there was not a wedding, would you pay $40k for your friends and family to have fun? Elope. For God's sake, elope. $40k is a down payment on a house for Christ's sake. Ask ANY man if it's a good idea. They well tell you no. You want to give your husband a great wedding gift? Well, 40 thousand dollars is a great fucking gift.

It is when you say that men are great at it. Hint: they aren't. The number of people, on either side of the Dick divide, who aren't lying cheaters who dodge responsibility is so great that dickering about the finer points of who does it more doesn't matter. You are right, women are lying cheaters that dodge responsibility. The problem is when people go on some tangent, hating women for that. Yea, women are capable of evil things. But the only reason to get upset about that is because one origina…

You are thinking about it too much. Like, sure, women a great liars. Men a great liars too, but different than women. But they aren't super villains, any more than guys are all super noble. It's just that people are all liars.

No, lol, Men won't. Some do, some don't. But shit, black pill and dark triad manifesto bullshit go out of their way to fortify and incentive lying for profit, and guys eat that shit up. Just as important as it is to not put women on a pedestal, it is also just as important not to demonize them. Just because they aren't angels doesn't make them diabolical super villains. Internalize the fact that, for the huge portion of them, they are just boring, average humans.

Lol. All your doing is pedestalizing women in the opposite direction. There isn't anything special about them. They're just people. Much the same as guys. Think of all the guys you know. Now think of how many of them you actually care to have as friends... That same ratio should be even smaller for women you care to date/associate with beyond just for sex.

Jesus, you are a comma fiend. Do you talk like that in real life? It's kinda a self fulfilling prophecy. The likelihood of a woman willing to enter into that relationship is low. Women, as a rule of thumb, don't want harems. They crave the top 20%. This is the cornerstone of hypergamy.

This is an excellent answer. Think about it like this: She is no different now than any of your guy friends would be. You are NOT going to be hooking up. Treat her like you would any of them. "You want to come pick me up and we can go to the mall while I look at clothes?" Nope. No reason to make a thing out of it. Just don't bend over backwards for her.

Everybody kinda nails it. You either are, or you ain't. TRP is, in essence, two parts. One is understanding human nature and how that applies to women. The second is understanding how to make yourself more desirable to the average woman. The biggest takeaway I can give you about trp is that it normalizes women, and takes them off the pedestal, and recommend reading them like any guy. If you look at your behavior with a woman, and then ask yourself if you would do the exact same thing with a guy …

The key word is "negotiable." Your level of attraction to someone is the sum of your perceived parts. It is not just physical. It's everything. BUT, if someone isn't feeling it, then you can't "convince them" to feel it. You can't talk someone into being attracted to you. You can do things to yourself, that they may notice, that make them more attracted to you. But you can't tell them about those things and expect it to work. Attraction isn't something you can haggle. Another way to word it: Att…

So, the fact that everyone interprets TRP differently kinda invalidates your sweeping assertion, doesn't it? If everyone defines/interprets TRP differently, how can it all be abusive? You laid it out shittily. The general tone is a direct refute to the veracity of your argument; namely, that shitty list. People are saying "What about women" and "that's not abuse" because your list sucks. Using it to define abuse is bad. You never made it past defining abuse. There was no reason to get to "TRP do…

Yes, killing babies is bad. Rape is bad. Acid attacks are bad. Knives meeting genitals is bad. You are a far cry from making any kind of convincing argument that because the gender is used, it makes it somehow different. The causes for these things are "fucked up people", and everyone in the world can get behind doing fucked up people. The creation of any group or cause necessitates an "us vs them" mentality. Feminism creates this dichotomy between women and men.

Pity and empathy are two different things. Pity is just contempt without a recognition of equality. You see a dog with three legs? Pity. You see a real man fall from greatness? Contempt. Empathy is just a very good mirror and an inability to distance one's self. It is someone imagining your pain as theirs, and trying to share in it. If they pity you, they view you as less than them, and, so, fuck them. If they have contempt for you, they are jealous of what you were/are. Fuck them. If they empat…

BNW usa populated by people who are split out into castes. The governmental controlled eugenics at birth determines who is what: alphas, betas, down till deltas, etc. Your caste determines your job, social station... Everything. There are some people who aren't a part of this government experiment. Indians. One of them starts to hang out with an alpha, who begins to question the social order. Hijinks ensue. There are more FTMs these days actually Not exactly what is being said. There are more people who start with "F" on their birth certificate (according to this survey). /r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 01:38 PM

No. I am not saying that. Again, for the third or fourth time, I'm not arguing about the justice, need for, or morality of inequality of pay. I am using that comparison to illustrate to you that there are contributing factors you are seemingly ignoring.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 01:24 PM

Regardless of the accuracy of that statement, the question at hand is more that feminism doesn't argue for equality, but the advancement of females.

Because they are interrelated, it is easy for people to view the argument of feminism, I.e. feminism is in search of equality between people, it is easy to understand why people would see that as hypocritical: equal pay and remov…

There are the things at play here: pay, female gender roles, male gender roles. The though that equalizing pay and, largely removing female gender roles is NOT equal, when the proponents of equality still perpetuate the male gender roles. That stance can easily be seen as hypocritical. It is literally answering the OP question.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 01:03 PM

Arguing that something exists is and is related is a far cry from its merits. I don't have an issue with any of it. I'm merely explaining, to the OP, why some people do.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 12:59 PM
3

I'm not arguing that they shouldn't be separate. I'm answering OPs question about why people try to delegitimize the feminist call for equality and decry it as hypocritical. Even you just reiterated the fact: even now men are STILL, by a 20% majority, the primary bread winner.

Ugh. For the last time. I am not arguing for or against the morality or the graciousness or the justness of the dynamic of equal pay. I am illustrating the fact that social gender roles are interrelated and interdependent with the dynamic of equal pay. That is all the comparison is for.

Let's say I have a company and I can afford to have two employees, and I have $200 a day I can afford. I can have two women, two men, or a man and a woman. If I have two women or two men, chances are their gender role in their home life is the same. Paying them each $100 means that I am spreading the money, most likely, evenly amognst their needs. If I have a woman and a man, chances are the man, …
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 07:23 AM

I am not arguing merit. I am arguing perception. I am simply framing the argument in such a way that you understand the association between unequal pay and entrenched gender roles. I am not arguing one way or the other. I am framing an example to show you how/why the stereotypes and gender roles exist and are tied to the equal pay question. And no, paying a woman the same amount for a job as a man doesn't take money out of the man's pocket. It would, on average, take it out of his kids' and wife's pocket.

Eh. I wouldn't say that. There is some work being done to divest men from traditional male gender roles. All popular media thumps on the "Dumb Jock", the Meatheads. Most strong male role models in the media are portrayed as weak willed when facing women. Cowboys are all being painted as closet homosexuals. Being a "tough guy" is slowly being seen as udmn, uncivilized, and gauche. Men are slowly being trained that aggression is bad, and passive aggressive conflict resolution is good. But Deadbeat…

Single mothers are given a trophy by society. Oh how hard it is. Single fathers? Just doing their fucking job. I am not arguing, though, that times are not-a-changin'. But things like gender roles don't change overnight. Single mothers are an exception to the traditional family, and, therefore, not really applicable to this discussion. You are right regarding relationship dynamics. People do decide those. And, in the majority of cases, traditional gender roles still win out.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 06:52 AM

There are more SAHDs, certainly. I would argue they are stigmatized MUCH more than women in the workforce. And you are right, men's gender roles are much less stigmatized. Deadbeat Dad laws are still on the books, while there are no such thing as "Unloving Mom" laws. Men are expected to adhere to their breadwinner role, even if their familial role is non-existant. TO think that that shouldn't happen is, generally, an alien concept. The people who even discuss the thought that men shouldn't have …

I am not arguing that you shouldn't. As an employer, IDGAF what you do with your money. I am saying that men's traditional role as the breadwinner necessitated more money for jobs. Women working were traditionally supplemental income and not the majority of the income for the household. To frame it more crudely: Men could argue - But we WANT to be the breadwinner (i.e. fulfill our gender roles), so we need more money in order to raise our kids and support our homemaker wife. Or, alternatively, w…
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 06:35 AM
9

I mean, men are generally expected to do a lot more around the house now, socially, than in prior generations. Women are more slowly being expected to work vice be homemakers. The gender roles are slowly becoming less entrenched. However, I would posit that the big problem is the fact that reinforcing traditional womens' roles in the nuclear family has become GREATLY stigmatized, while making fun of men for being "unmanly" will take a whole lot longer to go out of fashion.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 06:30 AM
2

Because, as I described in another reply to you, the two are linked. If gender roles were such that men and women both, traditionally, contributed the same amount of money to a household, then I bet there never would have been a wage gap. That is conjecture on my part, but it doesn't invalidate the link between the two.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 06:27 AM
3

Men are stereotypically the breadwinner. I.e. their wages are seen as directly related to the raising and provision for a family. Women are, generally, NOT the primary breadwinner (according to entrenched gender roles), and, therefore, do not NEED to make as much money. The gender roles are tied to the pay structure. I'm not going to play chicken or the egg, but their being linked is true.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 06:26 AM
3

It isn't. But arguing that men must provide equal pay AND destigmatize the housewife social role, while also not stigmatizing the male breadwinner role, all under the guise of equality, is hypocritical.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 06:23 AM

Women's gender roles were destigmatized, men's were not. That is not equal.

I am not arguing that you cannot. I am merely answering the OP's question: gender roles are not equal, which is why many men see the quest for "equality" from feminists as one-sided.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 05:55 AM
1

Right. Which only serves to prove my point and answer the question from the OP.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 05:44 AM
1

gotcha.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 05:34 AM
6

That was the point I was making. You can make this semantic, sure. Men being SAHDs is socially stigmatized. Maybe not in your social circles, but in the majority of them. Hence "norm."
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 05:34 AM
3

Laws don't exist in a vacuum. Regular people still ascribe to social gender roles, regardless of the law.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 05:31 AM
1

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not. I am not arguing for the merit of one either way, incidentally. I am only explaining the rationale behind the "discrepancy" that the OP was asking about.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 05:18 AM
6

Right. And Rosie the Riveter was 60 years ago, so there is no longer a stigma for women to stay at home? Just the fact that the statement "Man Up" is still in our lexicon is evidence that the relationships you are talking about are not the norm.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 05:12 AM
8

Because social gender roles are tied in with the legal rights. They are not the same thing, but they co-exist and are interdependent on one another.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/02/17 04:59 AM

So women overcome the gender role of being the home maker, and are in the workforce making the same amount of pay for the same job. That's great. However, men have not overcome the societal gender role of needing to be the breadwinner for a family, and being a SAHD is socially stigmatized. That is the point. Unequal pay was reinforced by two gender roles: "woman in the kitchen", "man at work". Equal pay coincided with the breaking, generally, of the "woman in the kitchen" gender role. The "man a…

You are right. Men and women should earn exactly the same amount of money for performing the same exact job. In fact, that's the law. Has been for a while. The fact that men are statistically more likely to be the primary breadwinner, doesn't matter. As an employer, why should I care that the man is more likely, than the woman, to need the money to take care of a family? Fuck him! I say that tongue-in-cheek, but I am trying to make a legitimate point through colorful language: perceived pay gaps…

Right. And I think the opposite: adults shouldn't be helped and should be given the agency and opportunity to help themselves. If they then refuse to do so, then that sucks for them. I don't devalue the merit in your approach. I think the world is more interesting with both types of people. Universal income is a joke, because there is not such thing as uniform effort or capability.

Look, TRP is a collection of heuristics and ideas. It is not a blueprint. Trying to use it like one is autistic. Have as much fun as you can for as long as you can have it. Get back with Girl A. But, just remember, women are just people. The likelihood of her cheating on you is not non-zero. Realize that. N=1 is not too high. I mean, consider this: If N=1 is too high, you literally just ruined the life of Girl B.

Just to add some to this. I read the methodology of this study. It relies heavily on the CMNI, Conformity to Masculine Norms Index. I then went and researched the methodology for the composition of this document. Basically, in the early 2000s, a survey was put together and given to white, male, hetero college students. The results of their answers to this survey served as the basis for the creation of the CMNI. This was based on other previous research, and sought to define the relative normalcy…

Dude, you're the one making original posts telling people how it has to be, with your own definitions, etc. I am asking questions, am confused by your argument, and posing different ideas. You keep blowing me off and telling me to go read instead of answering the questions I had about your post. If Aristotle describes that a man must befriend himself first, how can he do that if he has abandoned his sense of self?

I have a feeling this is going to just devolve into another pissing match, but I am legitimately confused by what you are trying to say. u/saint_chalet kinda sums up my confusion: What is wrong is the willingness to sacrifice ourselves for that desire. That is confusing as hell. You keep saying it has a…

Your post is literally there to try and explain things to people. It's pretty silly that you espouse membership/group belonging in a philosophy rooted in being a singular instance of yourself.

Eh, I can see how my second response reads that way. But I fall to understand how ego is not your personal sense of pride. Understanding one's own importance is essential to maintaining a healthy relationship. Of course, one has to have an honest assessment of one's self in order to accurately be prideful. Inflated ego/pride/self importance are useless if they are built upon lies. That is why I originally said "stop lying to yourself" is good advice.

You are simply wrong about men perceiving slutty women negatively. It seems as though you cannot understand nuance. Sure, some men do not find slutty women attractive. No. Men continue to provide many of the same thing that gain them advantage in dating, regardless of their age. I.e. money, power, confidence, and status. At certain points in the night, New Hampshire was literally at 47 votes separating the candidates. In Florida now, 130k. Michigan, still not 100% accounted for, is less than 20k votes. I mean, I know how you feel. I have felt that way in the past. But if anything, this is an election where your votes literally DO matter.

The point is that your value system is a bit off. What you said in your response is that you value the things in your life that your bills represent MORE than you value your time/freedom. What you said in your OP is that you value your time and freedom a lot, and losing them leads to unhappiness. Those two things are at odds. Reevaluate your bills, I.e. Are the things you have worth having. Then get a job that meets your new financial requirements, and enjoy your new found freedom.

What do you define as love? Such an interesting question. I have defined it the same way, however, for years. Love is a bond you have with someone where you are directly affected by what happens to them, on a visceral, emotional level. I.e. they get hurt? you get hurt. They feel happy? You feel happy. That is love. Do I believe in that? Emphatically yes. Why? Because I have experienced it. Intimately. With multiple people.

Sorry for being trite, but you have to develop "game", or how to talk to people via banter, cut chat and innuendo. This is how to, normally, break the ice and get to know new people. Are you funny? Do you have interests? Women are pretty easy, if your not beastly and can be funny. If it is social problems fucking you up, read Carnegie. How to win friends and influence people. How does a seven year old girl view that? If it is confusing to me, I bet it sure as shit is to her. Divorce her mom, stop coming to see her, get a new wife and have new kids. Ignore old's kids and just throw them money. Seems like a pretty easy story for a kid to concoct, especially if egged on by a resentful shrew. What have you done to mitigate that portrait of you?
/r/MarriedRedPill19/07/16 03:02 PM

Right. Teaching responsibility is not the same as buying love. Attaching strings is different than building responsibility. Chores are different than jobs. With a completely reductionist explanation, and the removal of love and mutual affection, one can argue that chores are small jobs in exchange for room and board. But OP doesn't want to be a landlord.
/r/MarriedRedPill19/07/16 02:55 PM

Who cares? She is your kid. Attaching strings is what you do with plates and acquaintances. If you can't afford for her to have it, don't give it to her. Tell her "I can't afford to give you something that you are just going to break, and then me just have to do it again in 6 months." Pretty honest statement. A gift is an act of love, free of repayment. A bribe is a transaction, no love involved. People inherently understand the difference. Don't dangle the keys in front of her and tell her she …

Superficial answer with no meaning. You're sensitive because you hate yourself, according to the op. Then, I ask why you hate yourself, and you say because you're sensitive... Commitment and sex are, at best, tenuously related. Ok, so, I am going to rebut those three points. To start, I am going to reconstruct your title: Needing to take a shit is natural, so I shouldn't be ashamed if I do it in the road. (I know this is hyperbolic, but I use it illustratively). Simple question: Do you have, or want, children? If you don't, or don't, then you are right. Marriage is pretty much not worth it. The thing you are missing, though, is that women and men have different value standards, different goals, and different sexual strategies. Additionally, don't buy cartons. Only buy packs. And don't buy them with anything else. Only buy them as a result of a special trip. Smoke out side only. Eventually transition to not buying them. This is another way to help break the actual habit, as well as limit access.

There is a lot of bullshit here. Sad, sad shit. Thinking women are some special fucking safe that needs some secret conversational pattern to unlock is just an idiotic, misguided "pussy on a pedestal" approach to dating/women. Here's the rub: most people are boring as shit. Talking to them is a literal chore. Women are no exception. Most of them are boring, because mostly everyone is boring. Think of your average person, in terms of being boring/fun. Now, half of all people are MORE boring than …

I think solipsism gets thrown around a lot here. I think women are more generally narcissistic than solipsists. Then again, I subscribe to the school of thought that all people are narcissists at heart, and that selfishness is the underlying motivation behind almost everything people do. As far as dealing with her, that is easy. "Wait, so everyone but you is a fantasy? I'm your fantasy? That makes it really easy to not have to worry about consequences... lets bang."

Probably. The good news is that so are most of your friends. More seriously, finding what makes you happy is something only you can do. It takes a bit of effort. If you aren't happy, there is literally nothing stopping you from changing that.

As a caveat to what most people have mentioned here, with the women potentially being gold-digging or just rude. There is nothing wrong with being a traditionalist. Man pays for dinner, sure. Then, the next morning, she makes you breakfast. A bit of quid pro quo.

Eh, I think each has their place. TRP is great for unplugging. It is a bucket of ice-water to the face. But it is, ultimately shallow and unfulfilling for some people (myself included). The shortcomings of TRP can be seen in the statement AWALT, and the different interpretations of that. It is akin to "trust no-one, because everyone will betray you." That statement has value to a child, because absolutes are easy to grasp, and easy to follow. But trusting no one? Your entire life? Sounds kinda b…

I know people call it "game", but that is honestly the bad taste that TRP leaves in so many people's mouths. At its core, just understand that you have an intrinsic value. If whatever girl you are choosing to spend time with doesn't see it that way, then have something better to do with your time. Think about it like this: Do you have younger siblings? A younger sibling is a great metaphor for a "beta orbiter." I.e. someone who devotes themselves to you, wants to constantly be around, is willing…

Yeah. Honestly you should have simply just told her to leave. When she said she needed to figure things out with the other guy, tell her to "Go take care of it then. I'm not really interested in playing childish games." Pressure flip. Abundance mentality. Win-win.

See, the thing is, I don't disagree with you on a good portion of what you are saying. I do disagree that the advice is completely useless for introverts. But, as I said originally, I don't understand the point of your post if, as you stated, you don't want what these people are striving for in the first place. I.e. if you aren't interested in dating/mating strategies then dating/mating strategies are going to be useless for you. It just seems like a pointless post.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/16 05:12 AM

Again with the semantics. Worthless to you is the same as useless to you. You are equating being crippled with being introverted. That is simply dumb. 50% of the male population (rate of introverts vs. extroverts) are so socially crippled they can't even chat up a girl and say hi? That advice is useless to them? Get the fuck outta here. A better analogy would be fat people on Rascal scooters not walking. And then claiming that workout routines are useless for fat people that ride scooters. Then,…

Your semantics too deep. The words are synonyms. You abjectly disavow any criticism/advice directed at you, and had made up your mind prior to even posting. It isn't useless advice for introverts, as many introverts can still use the advice. If they want the final outcome of sex with other people. You don't want that. So the advice is useless FOR YOU. Consequently, your post was, and I mean this in whichever way you think it means, worthless.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/16 04:23 AM

more pointed: how can something be useless if you don't have a desire to use it? i.e. if you dont care, so it is obviously worthless/has no worth.

You really don't understand that portion of the argument? The question boils down to "when is the fetus a baby" and "how old can a baby be before you are allowed to kill it?" Ergo, they are not morally beholden to the treatment of people who cannot pay them for said treatment. So, if three were no laws in place regarding this subject, doctors would be required…

I guess then we are just going to have to agree to disagree. To offer a point of comparison, however: what if the accusation levied is that someone is a... terrorist. Someone of muslim faith is accused, by a peer, and other people bandwagon on it, of being a terrorist, of having been to terrorist meetings and planning shit. Is it morally right or morally wrong to take action socially against the person being accused? That thought process, thinking that it is morally justified, is exactly what le…

It isn't about assuming they are lying. It is a refusal to act as of what they are saying is true, and requiring more evidence prior to any action. It is an open invitation to provide evidence, but a staunch refusal to levy ANY judgement against the accused.

That is a straw man that dodges the question at hand: namely, is it morally right to judge someone based on unsubstantiated testimony? The question is Not "does it make sense for a business to ride the tide of the consumer climate to ensure survival?". That answer is obvious, and I don't think many are asking that question. The question is in relation to the moral justification of the feelings and motivation behind the blind support of an accusation, with little to no substantiation. I.e. The Tw…

Goddamnit, I wrote a nice long reply, and it fucking disappeared. Morals are, by definition, relating to the principles of 'right and wrong'. There is, of course, no definition of 'right and wrong'. Each person has their own definition, amorphous and rarely subject to reason or logic. Value, on the other hand, is defined as 'relative worth, utility, or importance". So, by necessity, to make a value judgement, one MUST have something to compare it to. I.e., levy logical comparison and thought to …

So judging someone is fine as long as the message is in keeping with the mentality of TRP? I agree. And I said as much: I will judge anyone and everyone, and expect them to do the same to me. But I don't think that is what the OP said. It literally talked about the difference in attacking sometimes ideas vs. Their person, saying semantics matter. When, in fact, they don't. No, my point is I don't care if you judge me. No where did I say "please don't do that." In fact, I went a bit further and called myself out and laughed about it... You are the one saying not to judge people, who then turns right around and does it. I think that's funny. I expect to be judged, and don't care if it happens. Lack of constructive criticism is a completely different sentiment than "too judgemental". Saying someone is being judgemental, and anyone having to care if their criticism/advice is going to sound judgemental, seems like the anti thesis of an open forum such as this. To be fair, that isn't exactly what the data is showing. It is showing the highest outliers between the two sets of data, not the most common. in the name of America's ideals That is the entire point. There is a large faction of the country who thinks that these exact ideals (fairness and SJW-esque) are the ones we are fighting for. Right. But yeah, it could have been real. 12 steps work for a lot of people.

Well, what is your goal here? You want him to love you and drop everything to help you move? Like, I don't really understand the question. You just need to understand that he is goal-driven, and that your relationship with him is of minimal importance in comparison to his goals (unless the goal is maintaining the relationship). Treat all interactions with this in mind. I don't understand how this is an exhausting personality to deal with. It is remarkably simple, because it is consistent. Treat …

No way to know. It is supposed to be real, if it's a12 step program. But, either way, does it matter? It was for her, not for you.

Dr. Hook wrote a song about this a long time ago. Great song. "When you're in love with a beautiful woman" On mobile, no link

Sounds like you never made it clear she was a plate. I.e. That she was not exclusive. You feel bad because you think you have culpability in this. If you think you do, be a man and own it. Tell her she is not exclusive, never has been, and a simple sorry that she got the wrong impression. If you don't think you are culpable, then think long and hard about why you feel bad. You really care about her feelings, beyond a basic level of humanism? I'd that is it, maybe you were more exclusive than you…

12 step programs. One of the steps is to, effectively "right your wrongs", and you basically soul search, figure out everyone in your life you have wronged, and sincerely apologize. It is supposed to be cathartic and humbling.

Ask get if she is going through AA. If not, ignore. If so, say apology accepted, then ignore.

Long term piece of advice: never give negative relationship advice to family or friends. They will not appreciate it, and it will damage your relationship.

Dude, at the end of the day, it is about what YOU want. If you want to fuck an endless stream of plates, play the game and get swoll. If you want to get good at video games, do it (but don't complain about not getting women). Be the man you want to be, do the things you want to do, and fuck anyone who says otherwise. TRP is a shotgun, non-nuanced approach to human interaction, and, mainly, picking up women. It turns out that a lot of what TRP mentions to improve one's status with women actually …

In addition to what everyone else here has said: I moved a lot growing up (13 different schools). The person who befriends you when you first arrive at a new place is rarely ever a person I stayed friends with. YMMV.

Interesting conversation, but I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree.

I don't necessarily disagree with anything you said here. But I also feel like almost all of these circumstances are naturally occurring. The upper echelons are privy to the majority of the resources in an unequal distribution. 20% of men get 80% of the women, etc. I think that is a human condition, and not necessarily something to be fixed. As far as the manufacturing jobs, one could just as easily make the case that they disappeared through increased technology no longer permitting their origi…

I can appreciate the wont to dissociate the philosophies. I went the other way with it, and have seen a great amount of application across multiple disciplines. I think that is because I have abstracted TRP to essentially be what I mentioned before - people are selfish and will use the best means at their disposal to maximise their profit. The sexual, economic, and political analysis stems from there. Of course each of these venues, and, indeed, each situation, has its own huge set of variables.…
