I think the traditional definitions of masculinity, for better or worse, will be around for quite some time. Even animals with no natural predators still select for the fittest and largest males. It is incredibly resource costly for a bear to remain as large as they are. It doesn't need to be 600lbs to catch salmon but there they are.

I lived in rural Nebraska and never seen the wads of cash you mention. I have family that still farms there. Everyone I knew from high school has moved to nearby larger cities and beyond. The main streets are 25% unoccupied. Every last business that made every little widget is gone. There is nothing left in small town America. For the first time in American history more Americans live in cities than small communities. The trend is only growing

Careful doing deadlifts for reps. 4th set of 10@225 and I gave myself exertion headaches. 3 things I did wrong... not enough recovery time between sets, looking at myself in the mirror at the bottom and improper breathing. 4 weeks off from lifting and painful headaches during sexual climax are my penance for improper form. Form is everything. Even at 50% of my max I still hurt myself because I was treating deadlifts like it was some kind of cardio. Form is everything.

I work construction and still do not eat until 3rd break. That is 18 hours of fasting. It feels much better than it sounds. No dragging ass with no energy. Now that we're lifting regularly we need some hobbies that build other facets of ourselves. I golf. It's a mental game that forces you to maintain frame for 3 hours at a time. I also fish and target shoot. It doesn't really matter what you do as long as it betters you and gets you out in the world meeting and interacting with others. I would like to pick up a hobby that is a little more creative in nature but that side of me has never been developed enough to choose anything.
