Theres nothing wrong with giving yourself a reward, it maintains involvement. I'd say think of a simple-mid pleasure you like, set your goals, and when you accomplish it, just reward yourself. This doesn't mean you're throwing in the towel it just means you're acknowledging one goal you accomplished. But as I said previously, you should put multiple goals in front of you. This tells you that you still have work to do. The reward isn't an endgame reward, just something to maintain progress. So fo…

Ask what makes you proud. You cant live for others. Set a list of short term goals and long term goals. Think daily, weekly, monthly and annual markers that accomplish 1 major thing you want to achieve. Try to ween yourself off games by allotting time only after youve accomplished a goal, and be sure the time spent on games is a reasonable amount (1hr max). Also have faith in yourself, a defeatist mindset leaves you defeated before you could even start. Also (this is personal but I do it and it …

From a Buddhist perspective, meditation isn't the game changing zen, nirvana thing its portrayed to be by many western outlets. From the perspective of getting you to focus more and be in tune to your inner thoughts and feelings, it definitely helps.

Have to concur with this, im sure theres a way to combat the anxiety or restlessness of waiting, but I assume its implied that if youre using the TRP lifestyle, you naturally create opportunities for yourself

Agreed, not to disrespect OP, but that type of claim needs context or substance.

Felt the same way 4 years ago. At 19 I went to community college, studied my ass off and got into NYU. Im not even the exception. Literally everyone in my major came from Community Colleges as well. All of them have jobs or went to graduate school. I had to take an extra semester due to not having enough credits. No biggie though. Youre young, make a plan and follow it.

Well there you go. You saw the negative influence. If you yourself can identify the influence as negative then isn't that something you wouldn't want in your life? I never said it was negative, you did. I've done this two times already, and yeah it sucks because you lose friends and all humans need connection. But are you completely locked out of making new friends? Will you never make a new friend again? I doubt it. And evaluate where you are now. You're in the middle road of that you've alread…

This has been going on for decades. A book that was mentioned here, Pimp: Story of My Life by Iceberg Slim, had the same situation happen in it. It was real and happened in the 20s/30s. It was probably more racially based, but the option to accuse a male for stat rape based on any reason has been there since the courts first allowed it

How to meditate by Kathleen McDonald is also good. It gives step by step instructions for different types of meditations and explains what each one is meant to achieve. Pretty straightforward imo

From what I've read and seen, although not common like seeing an Ice Cream truck in summer, bitcoins tend to be stolen from the virtual wallets pretty easily. I remember reading that when the bitcoin value was at its most volatile (30 USD one day 500 USD the next) it was all stolen from someone who had about a thousand bitcoins. Be careful if you go that route.

I agree, but if you need social media for livelihood (e.g promoting your business, establishing exposure as a musician, etc.) then there is no real reason to get rid of your usage of it altogether. I would agree if you mean get rid of it in terms of scrolling through pointless facebook posts, instagram fodder, twitter rabble etc. instead of building yourself into something of substantial value, either through hobbies or knowledge. In which case I completely agree.

Yeah i only briefly read into Rollos book. I'll definitely pick it up again and give those terms a good read through. Thanks for letting me know its not an uncommon occurence.

Reading this and your responses made me realize I'm in the same spot. I have to agree with some commentors on this one. When it comes down to you having to evaluate whether you should keep your friends or if there are some that are questionable for keeping, chances are you should just cut ties. I'm also turning 23 in a couple of months lol and realize it's more important to cut off the excess that doesn't relate to your goals and instead strive to find and connect with people who are equally mot…
