“Lived experience” is hardly relevant. People have preferences. Just because you are “nice” doesn’t mean much. There is more to personality. I also still find this point useless to the discussion of toxic masculinity.

Well for me, as someone who advocates for equality, movies like those are toxic for men and women. In that respect I agree. However, I disagree that women independently are encouraging it. I think society as a whole is. We shouldn’t glorify rape and abuse, and many feminist agree with this. Just because a guy believes he is nice and no one will sleep with him doesn’t mean that’s a direct cause of women liking “bad boys.” There’s no proof of that. And trump talking about sexual assault was widely…

I’m sorry...I don’t follow that logic. Women aren’t encouraging toxic masculinity. And most agree it’s men that have toxic masculinity, but it’s not just because men equal bad, rather there is a cycle of, some would call, abuse. Really it comes down to gender roles and the enforcement. Phrases like, “be a man,” or “you are acting like a girl” causes men (and some women) to hold their emotions inside which isn’t healthy.

Well actually feminist talk about toxic masculinity, and how it directly effects men! It’s a huge topic in the feminist movement! So in fact we do talk about the rights of men.
