I've had a similar experience. I think men expect women to prioritize a "chance at love," and they want women to display the actions associated with commitment seeking or being in a relationship without having to prioritize the woman; hence all the coy "warnings" up front that they won't be "getting attached" etc. But, if the woman displays the same coolness or indifference towards him being committed it takes the fun out of it & they want to indicate they're worthy of investment from this woman…

Your feelings are totally valid, but you can't expect someone who is comfortable risking their own health to suddenly be on top of it for your sake. Many women have experienced this sort of thing & ultimately learn to cover the sexual health base up front. Sis, don't try to change him, replace him <3 Wishing you safe & satisfying sexy times ahead.

THANK YOU so much for sharing this🤗! Unfortunately I related to a few incidence you shared and it's such a valuable message to women to trust their instincts and not to let red flags slide. I needed to hear it, and I'm working on trusting my gut more.

There seems to be a consensus that a guy divulging this shows a lack of consideration for his date, but how should a woman approach "plate-spinning"/ dating multiple people which is FDS approved? Should we avoid being clear with men that we are seeing other people? When should we bring up that a commitment from them is necessary for us not to. TBH a post on this would be appreciated. I'm a little lost, pardon me if I'm touching on something that's covered in the handbook, I haven't finished read…

Girl!! If you don't hashtag this somehow, put it on a shirt & sell it imma be so upset. I would absolutely by that merch. We need to normalize the healthy bodily processes of women. I'm not saying that periods need to be announced, but so many girls and young women deal with period shame, rather than appreciating their healthy body. Its sick that we have a culture that produces men so faint and squeamish about periods, who are often voracious consumers of gory movies.

Thiiiiiiiis smh. You are not alone girl. I haven't finished reading the FDS handbook yet, but if anyone knows of any other useful resources that touch on cultivating assertiveness for women it would be much appreciated.

Wow, this gave me some renewed hope there are guys who won't be scorekeeping or undermining a women's contribution just b/c she isn't putting 50% towards bills. Women contribute in a myriad of ways, with many of the most valuable being intangible contributions.

I'm certainly not against women being homemakers if that's what they want, but remarks like what's shown in the meme are how some men grow up expecting to have all their creature comforts tended to by a woman while they offer little besides "being the man" which for them just means showing up. Any ideas what one could actually respond to his mother if such a cringe worthy thing was said?

I have it, but haven't gotten started reading it yet. I'd say yes based on the premise, knowledgeable woman author, practical tools, and great reviews alone if that helps :)

You're exactly right, the fastest way to build addiction is an inconsistent reward as Shan Boodram, the clinical sexologist & author of "The Game of Desire," says. This understanding is why she recommends assigning unique ringtones to your gentleman callers, so you're never wondering "Could that be him?!" before getting to you're phone. You're clear as soon as it rings and you don't get that 'gambling rush'.

Girl, you gotta check these songs out: "I owe you nothing" by Seynabo Sey, and her song "Shores" as well as "Woman" by Andreya Triana and "Holy" by Jamila Woods. Hope you like them :)

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
