Nor would I wish it upon anyone either. It's a difficult prospect I suppose, trying to apply a measure as to which is worse. I guess it boils down to a question something like: Is it worse to (potentially) permanently be damaged mentally and physically, or be removed from the world entirely? Objectively, I don't know that there is a universal answer to that. Subjectively, I have experienced neither event, and therefore I can't answer. Hope that made sense. Good point about the wording too.

I agree completely. The majority of the people I know hold that opinion, though. Maybe it has to do with me not even believing in a "soul" to be violated. As far as I'm concerned, all I am is a "physical frame", so destroying it is pretty much the worst thing you can do to me. I'm choosing to ignore that the quotes in the article only ever cast females as the victims. Low hanging fruit and all that.

I should note that what I mean is they're not a rapist according to the law. I'm just as certain that some people are guilty and get away with it, as I am that some innocent people are accused and convicted of it.

One question about this overall. Why is "Faced trial" different from "Falsely accused?" If you stand trial for rape, and are found not guilty in a court of law, then weren't you falsely accused by definition? You're innocent until proven guilty, and if you haven't been proven guilty you're not a rapist.

To be fair, the ambiguous wording of the meme made it out to look like the OP tricked the wife into sleeping with him by impersonating his brother, which would certainly be rape. That said, he later clarified in the comments that this was not the case. It's possible that the comment was not there when the accusation was made, or that the accuser didn't see it.
