There are several replies in this thread about prenups. I think most people do not understand what they can and cannot do. This may vary by state, but I suspect it does not vary in community-property states. I know this because I talked to an attorney about it. If you have assets prior to the marriage, a prenup can protect them in the event of a divorce. A prenup CANNOT change the division of community property, i.e. assets acquired during the marriage. So stop saying that.
