I believe in encouraging effort that results in a valuable product. It doesn't matter that your kids are well fed and clothed and you have a steady job - society needs you to do more of what you're doing - for the sake of men and women.

I guess it depends on your definition of "mugged." I've had female friends who have their purse snatched away from them, sure. But the guys I know have been sucker punched, hit with a bat or threatened with a deadly weapon. Frankly, I'd rather just have my purse snatched than the violent beatings thugs often dish out to the men they mug.

You know, I heard about this on the radio this a.m. - they were talking about his latest Twitter post which sounded very ... suspicious. In thinking about it now, if he came out and said, himself, that it wasn't true, that might prevent the DA from pressing charges - and I think that might be Justin's only way of twisting the knife against this woman. Well there are two main points both authors make that resonate with me. ENTP's point that using "patriarchy" in societies that are not "father-oriented" like the U.S. and western europe is dishonest and alarmist. (I agree with ENTP there.) It's essentially the same tactic that Manboobz uses - although with a slightly different audience. Manboobz's cherry-picking of the worst of the MRA sites sends a message. A message that says "Nothing to see here - see? Look at this! They're all like this - just trust me." Except Manboobz runs a sort of circle-jerk with feminists rather than propagating that stuff to people not interested in gender issues.

The comments on that post really got me steamed up. TL;DR: A dozen or so (presumably) women had experiences where someone interrupted them or wouldn't let them speak. They assume that this happened because they are women. I'm a white, straight male and I get interrupted all the TIME. Why do you suppose that is?

You know, I just got into a really, really long drawn out argument for C4M over at Alas - But if I'm honest here, if men had a pill that they could take secretly and couldn't be sabotaged by their partner, I would have a hard time getting as worked up about C4M as I do right now. But until we get that pill - I will still stand for either C4M or a revamping of paternity evaluations for child support.
