| 1 | OYS - Where Progress is Made (05/01/19)Thanks for the encouragement Chuck. In your experience is the Oak/sympathy/etc issue really down to a choice not to be down on yourself/circumstances? I’ve never considered out-thinking/choosing my negative thoughts to be a thing. Only out-doing/acting - like physically doing something in response - but that’s not guaranteed. | /r/RPChristians | 02/05/19 12:58 AM |

But take heart; I have overcome the world" - this is what I've been writing every day this week from John 16:33 NO IDEA if that will be helpful or not - but you straight up sound like I do all the time here. | 4 | OYS - Where Progress is Made (04/24/19)She was in good spirits and seems to have accepted the fact that she’s there to stay. Man, Praise God for that. I wouldn't be surprised if she had moments of frustration about this in the future, but from the outside that transition seemed fast. Most of the adults/elderly I've seen go into senior or assisted living are consistently unhappy about it and/or put on a really clear front - so they're "happy" to the people who put them there, but not to everyone else. | 3 | Ideas for Effectively Sharing Your Faith With OthersAwesome post! I love how a lot of it has to do with taking some genuine interest in others. I have to strike up (and take the lead in) casual conversations for work pretty often. I’m in a field with a ridiculous amount of atheist/otherwise introverts. Most of them don’t want to talk, much less about the Bible & God, and every initial encounter comes with their fear of your judgement and sizing you up. When “networking” for work, specifically teaching others the skill, I emphasize that you MUST b… | /r/RPChristians | 15/04/19 03:05 PM |
| 2 | OYS - Where Progress is Made (04/10/19)Just want to say seeing your thoughts on WOTSM is encouraging - I just finished it up a week or two ago and came away with many of the same conclusions (getting good reminders from you too, now). I got this mental image while reading it that, where it describes a woman is all about emotion, energy, and feeling - we're like the sails for that wind. Where she naturally provides positive or negative energy, we provide direction for said energy. This is 100% opinion and heresay - but it seemed to ji… | /r/RPChristians | 10/04/19 06:54 PM |

Awesome to see how God's helping your mom and helping you via your mom. > but need to pray more I feel like I've seen you say this repeatedly. So two things - Why? | 3 | What to do about boundaries being crossed? So, that's what we've been doing - we each accrue an amount each month that's free to spend no questions asked. I didn't ask her to tell me when she makes for-fun purchases, she just has been recently. I do keep tabs on our accounting and kept a closer eye recently due to our past conversation - so for some (not all) things she's spent on and I'm not sure what they're for, I've asked. It's not $10-$20 here or there usually. In the past, these sorts of conversations would come with me cross-ref… | /r/RPChristians | 08/04/19 01:58 AM |
| 1 | OYS - Where Progress is Made (04/03/19)Good job Captain. Thanks. I'll actually accept that compliment in 2 weeks when we go back (we're out of town this weekend) and build the habit, otherwise I was taking her once to the church she was more or less comfortable with. I'm all for being a giver, but are you sure you're not defeating yourself here by giving all the cuddles she needs with no sex in return? | 3 | OYS - Where Progress is Made (04/03/19)I don't have anything major to add, but reading this and seeing the change with your mom and even your son's failure with Spanish was really encouraging. | 1 | FR & Two questions- admitting where you need to grow to your wife, and "STFU" vs "Butthurt".Exaaaaaactly. I have to do this and be conscious of it myself - I would rather be reactionary and defensive. But, she makes good points because she IS your second in command. That’s to be lauded, and useful because her perspective will help you shore up your weak spots. The issue becomes when you stop judging for yourself and you consider her judgement instantly above yours. Even when she’s right and your wrong, you still need to judge for yourself and make mistakes. | /r/RPChristians | 28/03/19 04:04 AM |

| 7 | FR & Two questions- admitting where you need to grow to your wife, and "STFU" vs "Butthurt".The one thing that springs to my mind for you to think about is if her complaints are legitimately valid TO YOU. Caps only for emphasis. Your wife sounds like she isn’t just a whiner and she’s smart and helpful. I’m sure every complaint she has contains SOME validity to it. But what I’m trying to get at is - is there really something wrong? Or is it her opinion that you’re doing something wrong? Second, it’s based on her interest. I’m there for the money. Third - she would probably pitch a fit and disagree, but I run it. The business is literally legally in my name. If we divorced, 100% the court would decide she owes at least half because yay my state and divorce court. | 1 | OYS - Where Progress is Made (03/20/19)One nugget that I got from this book I am reading called SEXY CHRISTIAN spoke of a struggling couple that was having issues and their feelings went dormant. They were challenged to recall how they met. When they did, the very same feelings they experienced in THAT moment rushed back to them. I've done similar things with my wife and experienced similar results. Reminiscing on our first kisses, first time having sex, dates that were amazing, and you get the point. It's powerful! | 2 | I may have messed up (F/R)Two "tactical" things to think about - First I wanted to go on a date Friday since we will both be off and there was no reason for her to blow 30$ on a dinner from a restaurant. That's awesome that you have in your head what you want. Identifying this and vocalizing it is going to be one key to your success. I have no idea how McGee meant it at the end of the day - the way I interpreted it was as reinforcement of the sidebar and related books. My wife (I think) would like to stick to a church that’s in the same ELS-based group she grew up in. That limits our options to 1 unless we drive a distance. Okay, the obvious question here that I want to ask is, have you been born again by trusting in Christ and repenting of your sins? Have you been given the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit?
