Following this post and after reading your feedback I decided to start pushing back on this trend. I don't know if I am being over omptimistic but thd girls started to wave at me when leaving for school, they even accepted to have lunch at my table. I feel so glad Thanks

You know what for some moments of clarity I do see things being brighter.

Will definetly look for that book. Fortunately I have found some new friendships that have been really supporting with me through all this nowhere land trip. I was just telling one of such friends that this feels like being exiled from your own family. Sucks

Yes it all is very frightening to me right now.

You are right. I am oversimplifying it.

I am going through something similar. Married 17 years, two daughters. Just stopped loving me or whatever it was. She was so cold and distant for years. Somehow I am glad this is over, but my heart is torn apart by my sweet daughters... This feeling of loneliness and this need for kindness and tenderness is killing me.

So true. Sometimes I wonder if I was too stern a little bit cold?

I like your words very much. A part of me knows that I wasn't a bad dad, I need to remind me of that every time that dark cloud comes around. I just hope in time they realize how much I gave of myself to them.

I had that life for a couple of years, but it is just not a life anymore. I am moving out of this jail cell.

Yes in my experience this is just the case. We are left with the heavy load and the stigmata of not having been a 'good enough' husband. Plus, society and all is just about empowering divorced women as if we were just criminals of sorts. I tried, God knows I tried. This just wasn't meant to be forever. Hang in there.

I am currently in a position in which I feel there is just an abundance of challenges that I cannot even see them coming. I feel so overwhelmed that sometimes I just want this to stop.

You know what I actually believe she is the narcisist here. I don't get how she goes around so cool with this situation between our daughters and me. It is as if the way they exist is as a part of her inner thoughts and wants. Only that would explain her indifference to this. You are so right. Men are kept up to some impossible standards when all we want is company and care.

But you are a therapist, right? So, you need to get paid.

Thanks for the offer. And you know what else gets me? The expenses, my god. I fear I might end up living in the streets at this pace.

Are you ok? I do not know why they must make them feel scared of the one leaving. So sick.

Thanks so much. They used to be my everything, my day to day life. And now I feel they are estranged. It is just so much to process. Everybody carrying out their own lives and suddenly I am stuck in this void.

That is the correct word. Alienated. It is so painful. How do you deal with it? I am sorry for your situation as well. I feel as if we men are invisible during divorce, everybody always paying attention and giving support to women. That is just wrong. I am currently trying to fight the arrangements of the divorce settlement. And if things do not work out I will definetly escalate things. Thanks

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
