How does say a 2yo toddler affect the ultimatum? If she doesn't get help (or gets help and doesn't improve much), would it still be to end the disastrous relationship, 50/50 custody, move on and rebuild?

I'm in a very similar, but worse situation. On top of your description, my wife has been diagnosed with C-PTSD and can't handle even the slightest bit of disagreement or things not going her way, instead escalating into fits of rage and making vile threats of economic or physical harm to herself or others. She's frequently verbally/emotionally abusive, even in little ways throughout the week. The hardest part of it all is that it's been going on for awhile and has become normalized, so addressin…

The n count isn't a function that determines qualification for deep emotional intimacy and lifelong devotion as well. I'd think n count certainly helps determine qualification for lifelong devotion. Repeated past bad habits help predict a risky future. you should base if she deserves lifelong devotion over parameters that are in the present, not the past. Writing this just from the perspective of what she 'deserves' is pretty telling. What about what he deserves, like not getting into a future s…

"Sometimes you think you have true love, and then you catch the early flight home from.. San Diego and a couple nude people jump out of your bathroom like a goddamn magic show ready to double team your girlfriend... Lol. Your story relates way too closely to the intro scene of Old School.

This is a recurring thought for me as well. Lots of talk around here about how to do your 20-60s, but what is TRP advice for when i'm 60-70+ and still flying solo? No matter how hard I work I won't be able to do all the things I do now or pull attractive women in old age. It's hard to predict if not having kids will be a big mistake for me. I look at past generations (my parents) and notice that their kids (me) are a big part of their older life. Any thoughts appreciated.

They will lie and manipulate with their words to make you their bitch and have all the power and the upper hand of the relationship so that they can get away with doing whatever they want. To be fair, your actions (excusing/ignoring a month of bad behavior) handed this 'power' to her and allowed her to play the manipulation game while she performed a month-long branch swing. I imagine you were scared to lose her, thus avoided poking the nest while she acted 'strange'. Lesson learned, and man you…

The thought I always come back to is what will I do when I'm older, like retirement age. Without a family, kids, will age 65->90 just be a lonely/boring existence? That's literally my only concern about not getting married, and I don't know how to answer the question. Would love if anyone has thoughts on this.

A grandma stopped me in the grocery store awhile back, generally complimented me on appearing to making healthy decisions. Then said "but the young women these days..." and proceeded to motion her arms into a whale shape. I couldn't hold back the laughter.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
