So she's in debt. So what? Does that grant her special immunity? Perhaps she should have acted more responsibly just precisely because of that. I have no sympathy for people who cannot accept responsibility for their actions. She should count herself lucky that she didn't get charged and sentenced (open-and-shut case). This way, at least she isn't barred from having a regular job - which would be the case for most men out there in a similar position.

I think the issue is more leniency towards men, not harsher punishment for women. The ONLY way leniency towards men is going to come about, is first through harsher punishment towards women. After a while, the people will cry out in defence of women, and then the punishments for both sexes can start to be assessed.

Dude, all of those things are good things. If it follows her for the rest of her life, then she will remember to act like a better person for the rest of her life. It's a shame that lesson was so expensive for her - most people learn it for a far smaller cost - but if that is what it takes, then... that's what it takes.
