Why

I went through a bad break up in my mid twenties. Took me awhile to recover. Naturally you try to better yourself and improve yourself, and think maybe you could have done better. Discovered about 8 years later she’s now dating a woman! Definitely a weird whiplash, but I’m now confident I probably wasn’t the problem! lol

Do you have kids?

No, not a jab. Just sucks to be working 60-70 hours a week and barely getting to see your kids, whether it’s state mandated or not.

Working all day and night. How often did you get to see your kids?

My finances would take a huge hit, but man to be able to just spend “fun” money on my hobbies, concerts, etc. without the constant guilt trip and shame sounds like a dream to me at this point.

My long term gf in my 20’s only worked part time at the front desk in the ER and of course she found a new guy EMT there. Now, 10 years later she appears to be a lesbian. So I guess I know I was never the problem 🥴

I supported our family of 4 for several years, 3+. Got laid off and been struggling to find good work for like 3 months or so, how soon it is forgotten my sacrifices and the fact that I put every penny into our home, bills, family, etc. Almost zero spent on hobbies, friends, drinks, etc. in 5 years

For real. Dude is living the dream lol. Don’t be too nice now, if she thinks you’re not good enough because your career doesn’t happen to be blossoming in this shit economy right now, then take her for $5k a month and go relax on a beach somewhere 😎

Fair, I’d offer minimal help, but hope for the best and try not to be a huge dick. His kids mom continuing to spiral out and be an idiot will still have a negative impact on his kids. Hopefully she gets it together

Time will heal, just keep on keeping on. Work on yourself. I felt the same way about my gf from my 20’s and guess what…. She appears to be dating a woman now? So I really don’t think I was the problem or could have done anything different.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
