Feminine energy matched with the physical capabilities of men, create the violence you speak of. If women were physically on par with or superior to men, they would be responsible for more violence.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/03/25 02:58 PM

The emotions and energy that leads to violence is feminine energy. Men who can't control their anger and emotions, and get upset and lose their minds over words or actions of others, are displaying feminine energy.

Emasculation does not exist because of masculinity. Emasculation exists and is created by femininity. Violent crimes committed by men who feel emasculated, occurs because those men actually have more feminine traits than they do masculine. Not because they are masculine and someone made them feel less masculine. I would even say the anger and violence comes from their lack of masculinity being exposed. I don't think societies and cultures created masculinity to control men and build stuff. Mascu…

There will never be an arguement that proves anything other than a (healthy) 2 parent household consisting of the children's biological mother and father, is the better option. Can single mothers be successful? Sure. I'm positive it happens and does work out, for some. Unfortunately, single parent household has detrimental effects on a majority of people living with that dynamic.

Women become more jaded and bitter in their 30s because their options are dwindling and only gets worse as time goes Men are more likely to overcome being jaded and bitter due to entering their prime and having many more options in their 30s

The same doesn't apply because men are entering their marketplace prime in their 30s and into their 40s Woman are moving out of their marketplace prime by mid 30s This is just the reality of dating and starting a family etc, therefore you will find more bitter and jaded women realizing they may not be able to find the partner they really want, and men have more options.

It was a joke, as in, my only duty is to make my partner cum through mutually pleasurable sex. Doing it because ya feel like ya have to when ya really don't want to, is "duty sex" ....i think.

Well, as someone who is almost 40, divorced, few kids, career etc.. there are few things I seek in a partner. Companionship, friendship, and really great sex. I disagree about having a perfectly satisfying relationship with bad sex. I can have friends, roommates, coworkers, etc... my partner is the one person I get to have sex with. So therefore it better be great for both of us. Again, we all have our priorities. Someone looking to start a family and/or get married for the first time might have…

Well I'm not going to disagree with you there haha My personal opinion, and how I operate, I personally would not be ok with duty sex, but I completely understand with what you are saying. I would prefer my partner to match my sexual drive, and finding that match in conjunction with actually liking the person and wanting to spend time with them, makes me want to purse a LTR. Again, the way I operate, creating pleasure creates my pleasure, a large majority of the time (we all like to be spoiled h…

I think that does work both ways. Probably why infidelity is so common. Men will settle for someone they like sexually, but don't want to be around, and women will settle for someone they like, but aren't very attracted to. I find that people get desperate and more times than not just want to be with SOMEBODY.. ANYBODY. So they settle for disappointment. That is the part I don't understand but I guess we all have priorities.

I genuinely and sincerely feel very bad for anyone, man or woman, who is subject to "duty sex". It's my duty, to make you cum as many times as possible, before I do. And then repeat that cycle one or 2 more times before we pass out. Beyond teenage/fresh out of school "love", i don't see how anyone chooses to get in a relationship with someone they don't have incredible sex with. Your partner is the only person you can do that with, it should be very pleasurable for both of you.

The behavior that is often referred to as toxic masculinity, is not due to an excessive concentration of masculinity. That behavior is toxic behavior, that is not associated with masculinity at all. It's toxic and the person's gender has nothing to do with it. They are just a toxic person, with a lack of masculinity or femininity.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/02/25 04:52 AM

Why don't we call it toxic honey, instead of fake honey? Toxic masculinity implies that masculinity can be toxic. It cannot be. There can be fake masculinity, pretend masculinity, performative masculinity. All of those terms would imply what you are witnessing is an imposter of masculinity.

But it implies masculinity can be toxic. It cannot.

The term toxic masculinity is quite often used to equate masculinity to toxicity. False masculinity, pretend masculinity, fake masculinity.. sure. I still don't believe that toxic masculinity exists.. masculinity or femininity cannot be toxic.

Someone else used the term "performative masculinity", which can also be said as "pretend masculinity", and yea that actually does change the idea of the term, to me.

I guess I am proposing an argument of terminology. To me, toxic masculinity is like calling water, liquid ice. (Probably a horrible example, but I must admit I'm getting exhausted of debating the topic at the moment, so forgive me). But I use this example to say ice is not liquid, and cannot be a liquid, and if it is, it's no longer ice so why are we referring to it as ice. (I'm sure many people will argue that ice is actually liquid, but let me get this one for now). There was another comment h…

At the risk of admitting I have a reading comprehension problem, haha, I understand and agree with what you've explained. As you described here, I tried to draw a line between toxicity and masculinity, being 2 completely different, incompatible traits. As you explained it though, the terms performative, or even pretend masculinity, give me a different view of the terminology. Perhaps some of my beliefs are skewed by thinking there are many instances where masculinity is viewed as toxicity and th…

The belief that being masculine requires certain specific kinds of toxicity, is purely toxic. There is nothing masculine about it. If you are being toxic, you are not being masculine. Thats it.

🙄 Ok so you would prefer to stick to using the words positive masculine and toxic masculine? I personally wouldn't use the terms "not a real man". I would probably say they aren't a very masculine man, or immature, or toxic. It depends on the behavior. Just as a woman who neglects/abuses their children or spouse, has poor hygiene, is promiscuous, (enter toxic trait here).. most women would label them "not a real woman". I would just say they are not very feminine, or a toxic person I never claim…

Right. And my arguement is that they are wrong in considering it masculine. It's just plain toxic, wrong behavior. Trying to label it as masculine is trying to justify that they can't help but be an a-hole because "im just masculine bro". That behavior, in the presence of true masculinity, would be exposed and shamed very easily. I believe we have come to automatically label a toxic man as toxic masculinity, when he's just a toxic man who does not know or practice masculinity.

I agree with this. I think my whole argument is that there isn't toxic femininity or toxic masculinity. They are just asshole people. The practice of femininity and masculinity is to practice the exact opposite of toxicity.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/25 10:44 PM

I understand what you are explaining. I feel like the beliefs you describe as toxic masculinity are behaviors performed by toxic men under the guise of masculinity. Meaning that while presented as masculinty, it simply is not, and is purely toxic behavior. Men, claiming to be the epitome of masculinty, while displaying toxic behaviors, are not utilizing toxic masculinity, because there is nothing masculine about their behavior other than them being a man. They are just toxic people, who need to …

My argument is that it's Toxic behavior. Masculinity is the opposite of toxicity. Machoism is toxic behavior incorrectly claimed and labeled as masculinity.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/25 10:33 PM

I don't believe it does, but its existence and definition are being argued here and throughout society. My argument is that society's idea of toxic masculinity, is just toxic behavior. The term obviously exists. If I was to see the definition in a dictionary, I'd hope to see: Toxic Masculinity - See: Toxic Behavior
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/25 10:31 PM

I would say no, because if a woman lies the same way, is that toxic masculinity she's using? It's toxic behavior. Maturing and become actually masculine is learning that you are displaying toxic behavior, and not masculine behavior. If a man and a woman display the same exact toxic behavior, is the man using toxic masculinity and the woman is just toxic?

I can agree to that, same would have to go for toxic masculinity as well, no?

There is nothing masculine about enforcing others to fall in line. That behavior can be performed by anyone regardless of gender. Just because a man does it, doesn't make it toxic masculinity. It makes it a toxic man. If a woman displayed the same exact behavior to a group of people, is that toxic masculinty? I don't believe so, she's just a toxic woman. Genders don't dictate toxicity, as the same exact actions can be performed by both genders, and it's just toxic, not toxic masculinity or toxic…

My argument is that masculinity in itself is positive. No need to label it as such. Toxic masculinity, is merely toxic behavior that can be displayed by either gender. You can be a toxic man, but trying to be masculine is trying to not be toxic

Believing it's masculinity, and actually being masculine are 2 different things. Many people carry the delusion of being something they are not.

Not all violence is toxic. A man being capable of violence, and knowing when it's appropriate, is being masculine. Being violent just because you can be, is toxic

I disagree. They are true men. They just lack masculinity.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/02/25 09:33 PM

I disagree. The traits of masculinity counter act toxicity. To display any form of masculinty is to counter toxicity. Toxic masculinity, is just toxic behavior. It has nothing to do with and does not represent masculinity at all.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
