He also wrote a book, "The 50th Law", with Robert Greene, the author of "48 Laws of Power". If you like the first book you should definitely check it out too.

After Prussia lost to Napoleon they blamed it on officers thinking for themselves on the battlefield. They came up with the Prussian Education System, it was made to instill obidience, and to prepare children for the army. Horace Mann then heavily lobbied for it in U.S. public schools (which were just becoming a thing), and for schooling to be compulsory.
