I think Japanese are specifically attracted to a certain "look". Either you have it or you don't. I live in Japan and almost all my tinder hookups have been with Malaysians, Filipino, lndonesians. I get a couple of matches in Japan a week. Case in point, I went to Kuala Lumpur last year and got literally 100 matches in one day. I thought my tinder was broken. Simile in Japan I think. Approaching in Japanese puts you at an immediate disadvantage unless you are literally 100% fluent. Also it removes some of your uniqueness. I have a friend who would approach girls on the street pretending to be lost and ask for directions lol. Seemed to work for him. I'd say this though, there are girls who are really into foreigners and girls who are really NOT into foreigners.

You're just a regular dude. Maybe try not to look intense and have fun. Girls will see if you are a fun guy and they want to be with fun guys not some dude that stands in the corner staring all night. Just be yourself and have fun. Of course you can pick up girls at the club or anywhere else for that matter, but you have to go to them.
