I can't find the source, but before the 1800s, 25% of men were single fathers because lots of women died in childbirth. It was only in the Victorian age that it was thought unseemly for men to look after children, for example, "Seen, but not heard".

Crown Prosecution Service - when the police collect evidence and feel the case is strong enough, they pass it all on to the CPS to take the perp to court. It's the CPS that fucked up, not the police. I'd guess the CPS is equivalent to the district attorney in USA?

That's silly, in the UK the loser pays the entire bill for both sides, so if that guy was in the UK, he'd not pay anything, but the government would.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/minibus-driver-steven-petterson-cleared-3090734 My point was that UK laws for cyclists are shit, not that she should be excused - her behaviour was horrifying and should have the book thrown at her, but 3 years doesn't surprise me because of lax laws.

To be fair, penalties for drivers injuring/killing pedestrians & cyclists are ridiculously low here in the UK. A few years back, a minibus driver overtook a cyclist too closely despite his array of hi-viz equipment and bright lights. The minibus side mirror hit the back of his head, despite wearing a helmet, he was dead before he hit the pavement. The bus driver got off scot free. He was a male.

I saw the poster at Moto Services, just off J23A of M1 Northbound near the A42/M1 interchange. They have a website address at the bottom of the poster.

Yes, not in self defence.

Just because this is the case for you, it doesn't mean it's the case for everyone.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
