My brother served several tours, killed lots of people, saw half his platoon blown up, etc. It wasn’t till he was battle hardened that he was offered a position guarding the something soldier. Like unknown tomb or something. It was a big deal, but he turned it down because he wanted to do something else. Mountain war fare or something like that.
