I still made the conscious decision to go for it full well knowing what I'm doing so I don't see how anything that happens is anyone's problem but mine. Does a kid break into a car thinking that's just an innocent thing to do? No, they are fully aware they are breaking into someone's car, ruining their property, stealing their items. They just don't care or it's fun. That doesn't mean it's not an informed decision.

Well ok. I'm 100% certain when I was a teenage boy, I wanted sex and went about getting by all means necessary. I wasn't coerced into it and definitely knew what I wanted and I wasn't 18 to legally be an adult which is dumb. I've never seen this law actually work. Every single time, the 18 year old ends up going to jail and the 17 year old is miserable because they miss their boyfriend/girlfriend.

Like using drugs? Anyone of any age is allowed to use drugs. No one forced any one to take anything. They did of their own accord? When a 14 year old smokes pot, someone made them do it? No, they chose to do it. So I don't get that.

Well that's the question. What do you believe? What do you think it should be? Do you feel as if a 16 year old and a 21 year old that are in love should be able to continue their relationship if both are consenting? I mean, my wife was 16 when I met her and I was 21. No one saw any problem with that. There isn't a problem with it. We both loved each other and continued on.

Well the point is, it needs to adapted to situations where if the person wants it, then it's fine. I mean, just because you aren't 18 doesn't mean you can't know what you want or don't have your own voice.

Yeah exactly. It was always a dream of mine to bang some of my school teachers. I've since continued on banging older women well into my 30's. If he's actively trying to visit her, I don't see that as a crime on her part or his part. They're into each other, connected, let it happen.

Well, the law should be changed so that if the person is fully aware of what they are doing, there shouldn't be any issue. It's a terrible law and there needs to be some leniency in it. Can't be dumb shit like oh hey, I'm 17, you're 17 but my birthday is coming up and I turn 18 but oh well, guess we can't have sex now because it's now rape even though we've been together for 2 years. Regardless of the law, there shouldn't be a strict hard line for that kind of thing. If a to person knows where they're doing, it shouldn't be an issue.
