Trans women get murdered for it rather than convicted for it.

It might be better to ask this in r/asktransgender than here, but ultimately I don’t disagree with most of your claims. That said, I don’t really agree with how you’re framing the science or how you’re articulating trans validity. With the science, it’s less black and white than I believe you’ve presented it as here. Trans people do have neurological structures in the hypothalamus that align with our identified sex, but it’s still not exactly clear what this does or what part of gender identity …

So you think her sending a naked photo of you to a group chat is equivalent to her saying something like "he went down on me for 20 minutes last night" or something to that effect ?

Naked photos is different because you are directly involving others in a sex act.

I mean, you do you. I didn't say you were fundamentally incapable of understanding her perspective though. I just said you were incapable of wholly understanding her perspective. And that goes for any other human who's not you - not just women. The only difference is with men - or anyone else you have some sort of shared experience with - you actually both have a similar experience and so there's overlap in your first hand perspectives. Whereas with a woman, there's less overlap when it comes to…

I am sorry to hear you feel that way (that you’d bow out a relationship if she vents). I’ll be completely honest/blunt that I don’t see that as a realistic expectation because relationships, for everyone, are a source of stress and venting to loved ones is a healthy way to deal with that. However, I also can’t imagine that it’s fun to feel as though you have to leave a relationship if that sort of thing happens once, and so I am sorry to hear how much it’d hurt you if someone did that. Fwiw, may…

How is it victim blaming? I didn't claim that the victims were at fault. If anything I was actually criticising the abuser. My point was that nobody owes anybody else silence if they genuinely need to talk about something. The idea that somebody else owes you silence and shouldn't discuss details of your relationships with outside parties, is an attitude that helps to cover up abuse (in fact, it's pretty notorious for covering up abuse - the idea that victims are betraying their abusers by speak…

I guess I just have a different perspective on it. Many men and women in abusive relationships do not figure out they’re being abused and leave unless they talk about it. Many victims of sexual assault (which by and large, happens within romantic relationships) do not figure out they’ve been assaulted unless they talk about it. Silence kills. That’s obviously the extreme end of things but even more normal level toxic, or just any problem that exists — you have to be able to talk about things. It…

Where did I say that women were “most affected”? You know you don’t have to see yourself as a victim, right?

Yeah. For me the line is she shouldn’t share details about my body or that only relate to me. But in terms of discussing how it’s going, whether she likes or dislikes it etc, she deserves support navigating it.

I’m gonna add that it actually causes women a lot of issues when men don’t confide in their friends. It’s obviously not a black and white thing but on average I would say men struggle a lot more with managing their emotions than women so. And a lot of that is that we put up a front to the outside world and don’t talk about them, but then dump them on one individual woman who we are dating. Women want men to talk more about their emotions so that we have more support from others, and we don’t ina…

If you’re on a few dates, why’s it matter that much? You will probably never meet most of the people they are talking to.

Well it’s not a reasonable expectation if most women do it, is it? And now you know they do so you can talk about it. Men and women have different social norms and just because straight men don’t share things as much, it doesn’t mean straight women are wrong to.

Oh yeah. Sorry I thought you did mean amount.

But they're not. Women are harassed by men sexually much more than men harass women. I think the difference in physical strength is a very valid part of the explanation. How many guys who are 5ft get mugged in alleyways, vs how many guys who are ripped and 7ft? The fight and flight responses depend on how physically vulnerable you are compared to your victim. In most cases, women will respond to men with "flight" or "freeze" because she senses she is weaker than him and has no power over the sit…

If people here had bothered to look outside their own POV then you wouldn't be getting downvoted. Plenty of trans men report becoming more looks-driven when they start testosterone, and trans women become more sensual on estrogen. Plus sex drives change too in accordance to how we'd expect. As for Tinder (since it's been brought up in the replies), my personal take on it is that men are dismissed very readily for small reasons but are not particularly valued either. It being hard for men to use …

Not really. People who hurt others are almost never honest with themselves about their true motivations. Asking them is one of the least reliable things you can do. All you'll be met with is excuses that are designed to throw you off balance. You also seem to be valuing impact over intent. The impact of catcalling is that he objectifies the woman. Whether he consciously intends to do that is kind of irrelevant.

Yeah and he's using the woman to display his own masculinity. I.e, he is objectifying her and turning her into a prop to bolster his own social status.

I agree that men are also objectified, but it's not balanced. Women are objectified sexually by men. Not by other women though. Women don't really seem to objectify each other as much, but when they do they obviously aren't going to be valuing each other based on sex. Men objectify each other for labour because that's how men are useful to other men. The use of men for women is sex and/or romance, as well as labour, and yet we don't typically see women objectifying men that way unless there's so…

Well women are saying they dislike it. This comment also ignores perspectives about the male gaze etc, and so yeah all actors will be disproportionately attractive, but the cameras will focus on the bodies of women more. You aren't saying "I struggle with this as a man too, let's understand each other's problems and address it". You're rolling your eyes and saying, "men are objectified just as much, women aren't really objectified that much, men definitely have it worse" and then implying things…

You know that misogyny is also embedded into the government and the media right? Even moreso than feminism. Men's problems did not begin with feminism at all and it certainly won't end with it. Feminists are actually recycling a lot of the shit that patriarchy originally came up with so sure they are harmful sometimes but the disproportionate focus is biased AF. If they "monopolize gender discussions" then why are you talking about them?? They centre everything around themselves too much. Cool. …

I came to this sub because I was genuinely interested in talking about men's issues with other guys, but tbh you guys are no worse than them. This is a sub "to discuss men's issues" and yet all of your posts are about feminism and you monitor feminists subs? This community isn't advancing men's issues. You're obsessing over the flaws of feminists/women, and it's no different to feminists who obsess over misogynists/men. You've also created a male-only space and sorry but you're not gonna get pro…
