Wait, huh? So women shouldn’t be concerned about being good partners?? I think it is weird to have a superiority complex. Even if I thought your logic was sound, I don’t think women should go around acting like men are below them or just waiting to get with them.

Once, I was baking and my boyfriend (now ex tho) was loving on me and calling me wifey material. Said he wanted to eat my cinnamon rolls for the rest of his life. I loved it haha! I never once thought he was objectifying me or only wanted me for my baking skills or something. I felt it was a form of appreciation.

Nagging isn’t good, but it is the result of when communication doesn’t work
/r/PurplePillDebate08/12/24 05:22 PM

I have only seen my mother nag a few times, and each time it was a result of too much on her plate and not enough support from my dad in that moment. For most examples I have seen of nagging, that is the case. I am sure there are women who nag for absolutely no reason, but I would not put all of nagging into that one category. Additionally, from what I have seen, nagging is often about little household chores because all of those put on a single person can add up. If a man has to be incentivized…

Currently, I see that men activists are not representative of the male population. I have noticed that when men’s issues such as men’s mental health are brought up, there are many other men that are dismissive of the situation. How would you suggest mobilizing men?

I don’t think she was comparing cultures. Women wearing Hijabs or Burkas exist in many different areas of the world- even the west. Sexual assault is a possibility for them anywhere. I live in a culturally diverse area of the US. I know muslim women that have been covered head to toe and still receive unwanted sexual advances.

I think it is entirely situational. My sister in law is a SAHM and homeschools 3 of her 4 kids (the youngest isn’t even one year old yet). Her entire life is those kids. She is pretty isolated and isn’t appreciated enough because a lot of the work she does are constant every day chores. The need for cooking and cleaning never stops with that many kids. She is exhausted, but still happy with her choices. I could never do what she does and admire her very much.

No, but once a guy did accuse me of leading him on. We were classmates and he would always sit by me to chat before class. He was nice and we were friendly to one another, never once flirtatious. It was mostly small talk and I thought it was just nice to have a friend. When he asked me out and I politely turned him down, he told me I led him on because I was so nice. I apologized and he stopped talking to me. He pretends not to know me when we have a class together (we are in the same major). Be…

My sister in law enjoys the traditional lifestyle and has spent the entire day in the kitchen on many occasions. She feels most fulfilled when she is making a high quality dinner for her family and loves hosting for many people. Often, every single thing is made from scratch. The bread is hours of work, the pasta is from scratch, the sauce is from veggies that she slow roasted, etc., and of course there is always dessert. She is an absolute beast in the kitchen haha! It is definitely possible to…

As a small kid, I was jealous that my older brother could just walk around shirtless. Once I started being more sexualized (even as a young teen because I developed pretty early), I became pretty uncomfortable with my body and covered up as much as possible. Now I am much more comfortable, but still prefer to be covered. The only thing is that I wish breastfeeding was more normalized. I hope to be a mom one day, and it just seems so inefficient to have to spend so much time isolated for somethin…

I personally couldn’t ever have sex with someone that I didn’t already love, so this is hard to imagine. That being said, I guess I would just ask him if he has plans for breakfast? If we are at my place I would offer to make him something, but I would feel weird inviting myself into someone else’s kitchen. What is the point of this hypothetical?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/11/24 08:14 PM

My father is the silliest man and the most prevalent male figure in my life. He is so lovable because of this. No one has made me cry laugh like he has. I have seen him get emotional on many occasions, probably more than my mother because they are different in nature. That doesn’t mean he isn’t a man. If you find macho man culture repressive and don’t think it suits you because you are too playful to fit the mold, then don’t participate! It doesn’t make you less of a man and there are plenty of …

Do you have any interests or hobbies that you enjoy? There are usually a ton of different clubs on campus, a couple probably specific to your major! Right now it may be too intimidating, but I would suggest going to a meeting at the beginning of the next semester. You won’t be the only one feeling awkward and out of place, then. It doesn’t hurt to try. It sucks seeing you so sad when there is most likely a community out there for you! I was very lonely at the beginning of college (I know I am a …

Personally, a woman’s top would have to be pretty low cut for me to think that she was looking for any kind of attention. Much more than just some top boob cleavage. Even then, I would suggest that conformity may be a possibility as well. Especially in spaces where dressing like that may be common (clubs, parties, etc.), that seems to just be the social norm. I am sure that there are women who are there to pick up men and dress to invite their advances, but it isn’t a good idea to make that the …

I think something to factor in here is cup size. Cleavage is very easily achieved for those who have large tits, and most of the time, at least in my own personal experience, it isn’t really a conscious thought of showing off. If I wear anything other than a high neckline, it is likely that there will be some cleavage. That is just how life is for me. Sometimes I want to wear a pretty top and feel nice. Cleavage is a product of that, but it isn’t the goal.

But 1) I am sure that porn of old women exists, and that is doing something for someone. 2) People love each other and can be happy together, despite what you have been told by pop culture or bro podcasts or whatever. You’re making male sexuality reaalllyyyyy easy to villainize when you talk about it like that 💀. The 4B movement sounds kinda goofy to me, but the way that in angers a lot of men only makes it goofier. It makes me wonder how many men feel entitled to sex, as that what it seems to be about ? I am uncertain. As far as the man vs bear discussion goes, I thought people took it too personally. When women pick the bear in this hypothetical, they aren’t thinking of you specifically, so it is weird to be offended. Many women have had at least one moment in their lives where they are endangered by o…

Just because I don’t equate society to a market, doesn’t mean I don’t think it exists. You sure got a lot of nonsense from my two sentences. I am a switch, so not exactly a femdom? Idk, lingo is kinda confusing sometimes. My previous relationship consisted of exploring the more dominant side of myself. I have found that what is found in porn is too extreme for me. I am a gentle dom. Sex is still a lot about emotional connection for me, even when it is super kinky. I like to focus on my partner, usually a lot of praise involved. I don’t think mommydom is as commonly found as the more dominatrix type? I have trouble getting into porn i…

You would want your wife to be "proactive" about sex when she is actively uninterested all of the time? As a woman with a high libido, I cannot imagine my partner faking interest in sex to please me. I could never be pleased with sex unless he were also satisfied with the situation. If you expect a woman to be proactive when she doesn't want sex, that would be prioritizing male satisfaction over emotional wellbeing, and how can you expect a woman (in a LTR) to want to ever have sex if she doesn'…

Your "If men treated emotions the same way women treat sex then I can just bounce..." argument is so strange. Obviously, you wouldn't treat them the same. They are different. Additionally, men don't put in all of the emotional work and it is silly to think so. If all you have experienced is someone not returning your emotional efforts, you need to dump them because they aren't as interested in you as you think (or don't have enough maturity for a LTR, regardless of their gender). It is weird to …

Ah yes, I am so emotional and incapable of logical thought! Can you actually respond to my point, though? Your "evidence" does not match your argument. Additionally, now I am concerned that you do not understand what consent is. Naturally, a woman only wants to have sex when she wants to have sex. The expectation put upon this hypothetical wife to always give her body to her husband, can result in serious coercion, blurring the lines of consent. If her libido is lower than it once was, as most o…

I support sex workers but disqualify men that subscribe to OF models. If a man wants to pay for sex or OF, that is his choice, but I have a preference for men that don’t do that. It really isn’t that deep. I wouldn’t date an OF worker either, even though I support sex workers. My support for people doesn’t have to align with my preferences in a partner. My support of sex workers isn’t limited to only women, either. There are plenty of men that are involved in sex work, but are rarely discussed.

OP says “bait and switch” but then discusses the many valid reasons why a woman’s libido could be negatively affected (stress, children, hormonal changes over time, etc.). OP also talks about different stages in life, alluding to legitimate changes over time. I am sure there are women who exist that use their sexuality to get what they want, but with the examples given here, that does not seem to be what OP is talking about.

I will always find it weird when someone’s sample for the entire population of women are OF models. If your perspective has been altered by how many naked women you see, I think you should go outside and actually interact with people. That isn’t a diss or anything, I just think everyone can benefit from actually meeting people. Additionally, people changing over time isn’t a new concept. If a man can’t find it in himself to love a woman after her libido changes, he probably shouldn’t have gotten…

Can I ask what you mean by “problem”? I think it is reasonable to support sex workers but not want to date someone that buys their services, but I am not sure if that is what you are referring to. If by “problem” you mean that they find men that buy services from sex workers reprehensible, I would argue that is hypocrisy, but not misandry. This hypocrisy exists within men as well! Some men condemn women for being sex workers and go on to pay for their services, which I wouldn’t consider misogyny…

There was an instance when I was about 19 involving a group of friends. Wasn’t dating or seeing anyone before, and it’s not like I am going to now lol. This choice doesn’t really have anything to do with men or politics, I just am happy only focusing on my education and family/friends right now. If that changes, I would just search for men that have the same values as me (politically and future wise) because I would be looking for something long lasting. I mean that what they strive for is an open relationship that is purely one sided, as their counterpart is expected to stay completely faithful. They claim that this is what the peak male form looks like and that a man cheating on his partner isn’t a big deal because he doesn’t actually care about the whore in the scenario. The issue is that they pick unwilling women, because there are very few women that would agree to that arrangement. So it is cheating, it is just that they deny and hide it l…

Wow, there is a lot to unpack here. First of all, a lot of what you have mentioned that plagues men have historically been issues for women as well. Most western systems were created with only men in mind. The female body is still somewhat of a mystery because it hasn’t been studied to the same extent as the male body, for example. Many women have been and still are rejected from jobs that they are overqualified for because it resides within a male dominated space. Women’s spaces are often boyco…

From what I have seen “helping” or “protecting” means different things to men and women, as a lot of men here typically think that to protect a woman they must use violence or brute force. However, the few times that I have found myself in a situation in which I felt unsafe, I was protected by women (and once protected by a man) just because they offered their presence. There is often safety in numbers. A few months ago, I was walking out of a movie theater late at night with my best friend when…

Look at prominent voices within the manosphere that regurgitate this rhetoric. They are certainly red pill, and they have often spoken about how they should be able to openly cheat on their partner. TRP ideology is a spectrum. Not every red pill man thinks that way, but don’t pretend like it doesn’t exist. Same with Blue Pill. I am not going to act like there isn’t blue pill rhetoric that perpetuates misandry, but I am also not going to act like every blue pill person thinks that way.

There is always a spectrum to ideology. I am not saying the entirety of TRP holds that view, but there are extremists that certainly do, especially those within the manosphere (which has gotten more and more mainstream). Andrew Tate is often referred to as a redpill thinker and he has openly discussed the ways in which men should be able to have sex with whoever while their woman stays faithful. No worries! She probably didn’t explain a lot because this is a very common talking point within feminine spaces. The connotation that comes with “female” is not something that women typically enjoy, is all.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/11/24 06:44 AM

I would argue that it does impact spaces outside of the internet, to an extent. There have been many accounts from teachers of young kids that young boys have adopted the ideology of figures such as Andrew Tate, negatively affecting the ways in which they treat their classmates and teachers that are women. Yeah, the scale online is much larger, but I think that there are still real world ramifications.

Something to consider is that what is considered attractive varies from woman to woman. Taste in men isn’t universal. All of my friends have their own preferences. One likes men that are brooding and paints their nails and wears eyeliner, one likes loud and outgoing men, I am personally attracted to the more shy/softspoken type, and the other is a lesbian lol. Being “naturally attractive” just means you are being yourself and someone finds you attractive.

Men aren’t going to die if they don’t have sex lol. They aren’t entitled to their female friends bodies just because they are friends. If both parties would like to enter a FWB situation, that is up to them, and I think would result in both if them getting the benefits. Giving someone sex just because they say they need it, even if you don’t really want to, is a super weird concept.

God forbid I use anecdotal evidence to counter a sweeping generalization, I guess. I think it would be shitty to let anyone confront danger alone, regardless of gender. That is serious lack of support from someone who is considered a friend.

I really don’t think I am muddying the water lmao. My friendships are based around good conversation and laughter, that is where my enjoyment stems from. I expect of male friends the same that I expect of female friends. While I have been in danger around both genders before, the situation was handled similarly. I prefer real, passionate people to surround myself with in general, but I guess maybe that is a personal thing. I don’t think that “what women want” can be truly generalized, as it is so varied. Why not think about your criteria for a woman first and go from there, rather than just go for a bunch of women constantly?

This is a really interesting take. Can women not share the same interests as men? In your experience, are women not loyal friends to men?

I would argue that being friendly is not the same as seeking a friendship or having a friendship. I think it is pretty natural to be friendly to someone when interested, but to create a bond as a friend within that situation is a risky move lol.

I am pretty similar, honestly.

What “boyfriend services” have female friends expected from you as an act of friendship? Like if you go out to lunch, do they expect you to pay for their meal or something? Because that is something that I have never witnessed within my social circles. And yes, there is a transactional aspect to every voluntary relationship, as enjoyment of each other’s company is typically the basis of one. However, I do not see the benefit that women as a whole receive from being friends with a man that the ma…

I agree, but having desires is not what I am referring to here. Men and women want things, that is human nature. This conversation revolves around more than just having a crush or being attracted to someone. I do not know a single woman that evaluates every single man she meets to this extent, as this commenter does (I am sure there are some that exist, but maybe are not as normalized). This impacts the way he views friendships with women. In my experience, that is not the case for women, and th…

I personally have been single and friends with someone I am attracted to. It wasn’t difficult for me. I just enjoyed their company regardless. What about the situation is difficult for you?

I agree to an extent, but if you read the post of the commenter above, he is clearly focusing on what having a girlfriend vs having a friend “gets him” and evaluating every woman he interacts with. Naturally, relationships of any kind, platonic or not, are based in mutual enjoyment of each other’s company, which can be considered transactional. I would consider this commenter’s point to be more extreme than that, which relates to my question purely pertaining to men’s perspective. I never meant …

Currently, I am not in school with my closest friends. One lives a couple hours away and the other still lives 5 minutes down the street but we are all busy (we have been close since about 13 years old). Even this change was hard to navigate, but honestly I have faith. I have the kind of friends that makes time inconsequential. I hope you feel as involved with your friends as you would like to be!

Does that relate to gender at all, or are you just referring to friendships in general? I am 21 so I haven’t experienced this to that extent yet.

That was a point that I was kind of getting at with my post: the transactional aspect of men’s relationships. Oftentimes in sizing up women in terms of a potential partner, it seems that the thought process surrounds what exactly the man gets out of the relationship, rather than just spending time enjoying conversation even if it is about something trivial (like “how was your weekend”). I find a lot of fulfillment out of interacting with people of all kinds, no matter if I am attracted to them o…

If that is your sole focus, that makes sense I suppose. I guess I just value friendship more than others, so it seems kind of foreign to me?

I am sure there are a few women like that, but in my own personal experience, I have mainly heard from women that they wish men cared about friendship the same way that they did.

This is similar my experience as a woman in regards to befriending men. Do you find it normal or typical to befriend women with no motive or expectation?

I recently just got out of a LTR, so I haven’t been in the dating scene for a while and plan on staying away from it. However, I think that while dating, marriage is something important to discuss. Hookup culture has influenced the ways in which people commit to dates/relationships and I think that it is necessary to make sure both parties are on the same page. When I was dating, that was something that I brought up fairly soon because I was worried about putting energy into a relationship that …

Within this subreddit, generalizations are so insanely common (from both genders, about both genders) that I feel like there is rarely a valuable discussion to be had. I think that this may stem from a negative connotation surrounding anecdotal evidence. I have seen many discussions (in many different spaces, not just reddit) in which the response to a woman’s personal story boils down to something along the lines of, “well it actually just isn’t like that at all and you’re wrong”. It is possibl…

The thrill of the fantasy doesn’t translate to the type of thrill that would be experienced in actuality. Within a space in which someone can suspend reality, things that are not typically enjoyable can be. I have friends who read romance and enjoy the male lead being a problematic type within that hypothetical and fantastical space, but that does not at all match the kind of men they date or are attracted to in real life. The kind of fiction someone enjoys is trivial in this argument because ev…

From connecting with other women and what I have experienced, I don’t think that the bad boy archetype is a common turn on unless it is purely fictional. I have friends that enjoy romance books with a problematic male lead, but their taste in a partner is completely different. Within a fantasy, a girl who can suspend reality has the capability to enjoy a true bad boy. I am sure there are women out there that have a type for bad boys, but I haven’t met them. To be fair, I have almost completely s…

While I have never understood the attraction to a bad person, I think that the archetypal equivalent of a woman’s badboy fanstasy may be the manic pixie dream girl. I don’t think that the outright bad girl is sought after much, and in comparison to bad boys, is not as prevalent in the dating scene (correct me if I am wrong ofc). The manic pixie dream girl is the slightly crazy and most likely toxic woman that sometimes can come off as a damsel in distress or a figure that will enrich a man’s lif…

It doesn’t sound like you got out of the dating scene, it sounds like you successfully distanced yourself from hookup culture! Within hookup culture it is very rare to find people wanting to make genuine connections. Congratulations on your healthier lifestyle! I hope the best for you and your partner.

This is interesting to think about, but I am not sure how it exactly relates to my post ? Everyone has their own lines, their own perceptions, and their own preferences. There isn’t one viewpoint that everybody looks at to base their perception of others on. Where I draw the line has nothing to do with people assessing others in relation to what they want in a partner.

I think it may be a stretch to state that all men who focus on body count don’t have high body counts themselves.

My whole post was about how preferences are okay to have. The rest of my sentence that you did not include was having preferences out of ideology, i.e. judging others morally based on these things. Women who go for tall men don’t think that other men are morally corrupt because they are short. It is when the preference comes out of patriarchal superiority (thinking ALL women should be sexually pure for the man’s benefit) that men are insecure.

It’s not like I can speak for what all men want and I wouldn’t wanna generalize an entire population of guys, especially when the amount of porn that one consumes is so varied. A religious man who sees porn as an evil would absolutely want a woman on that same level. A man who ingested so much porn that anything even slightly vanilla doesn’t turn him on anymore probably doesn’t, but it is possible that he would look for someone with a similar amount of openness so that he can try the things he w…

I am pretty sure I have only seen the, “men shouldn’t care about sexual pasts” argument in response to discussions of a “high value woman” needing to be sexually pure in every way. I think it is pretty common to want someone sexually compatible with you, no matter your gender. Part of sexual compatibility is having similar levels of experience. Not everyone has this preference of course, but it is a valid preference to have. Sexual past does not matter, no one should be judged (on morality) for …

Nah, I have never really liked this advice and wouldn’t personally give it out. If people will only like you once you are ripped and rich, maybe you should expand your circles and meet new people. Diversify who you interact with and explore new spaces. Additionally, it may be a good idea to try to make connections platonically as well. Once I started attempting to connect with others where I would usually be reserved, I found out just how much community I was missing out on, which actually led t…

You make it sound like there is somehow a way to justify rape if there is enjoyment involved somehow. I doubt that is what you mean, but that is how it comes across.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/09/24 10:45 PM

I understand what youre saying and agree, but this still sounds fucked. When it comes to this, it shouldn’t be about what is fun, but what is morally correct.

As a woman, I can honestly say I have never been involved or even overheard friends or other random women graphically describing the sex they had. Maybe it is because I keep my circles somewhat small and keep to myself ? But I have never experienced this. I like to keep my closest friends updated about the goings on in my life, but the conversation was just me informing them what had happened without any detail. There was the follow up question of, “Was it good?” to which I replied yes. They wer…

Lying to women to get them to like you is clearly not the solution, though. I only see how it would even work for a really short term situation with very superficial motive. The truth comes out eventually. This behavior is a serious blockage for real connection and I can imagine must add to the loneliness epidemic. Additionally, it is strange to generalize women like that. Every girl has her preferences and they vary person to person. The women that only look at a man and are interested in him b…

I think it may be possible that bad experiences with men have affected the ways in which some women set their expectations, which is in no way an excuse, but a reason that may be good to think about. My ex wouldn’t take interest in any of my hobbies, not asking about them or participating in any way like I would for his, which made me understand that he wasn’t as invested in our relationship as I was. My current boyfriend and I have some shared hobbies, but honestly I love the fact that we have …

This pretty much sums up the problems I had with dating before getting together with my boyfriend. Not trying to generalize the entire population of men here, but I have noticed a trend in men playing a role in order to be more attractive to women. In my own personal experience, I have had men try to befriend me (and did), putting up a front of a kind guy, with the intention (unbeknownst to me) to hook up. Situations like that made me extremely uncomfortable and resulted in me being wary of guys…
