I edited the typo, Essentially ; marriage by definition is a permanent bond of two things which become inseparable. If you allow anything or anyone to get in the middle, you've started the separation. Family, friends, kids, work, hobby... I really do think that the issue comes down to the fact that people change who they are over time to make the other person happy, they stop being themselves, and ultimately lose the attraction that brought them together. (Like magnets). I also think that people…

@OP Not to be grim but your story sounds like the beginning of the same story that has been told here many times. There were problems but nothing is perfect. One day, she's done. Nothing can change it. It's all your fault. (You are here). Prepare for her to move very quickly to a new relationship (she probably has someone in mind) , prepare for her to become a totally new person and treat you like a stranger, prepare to see her as a stranger. You'll recover but you will need to focus on you. <<<…

If no paperwork had been filed, do so at your own risk. Mine was sleeping with another man before I started using the apps and it was held against me as "proof" she was in the right.

Use the honeymoon phase of her new relationship to your advantage. Get your paperwork signed and filled. I wish I had done this.

The best female to male ratio I've found is at line dancing. The women are young, capable, and in short shorts and boots... I'm not really into country music but it's fun, cheap, something to do, and there are 3:1 women to men (prior to this post 🤣) On the other side of the coin. I've also been separated for about 18 months. 3 dinner dates that went nowhere, the apps ... If you like being ghosted... As others have said, find yourself again and get out of the mindset that you need a woman. Like y…

If it were any other person, what would you do? Either report it or don't. You shouldn't sit on it either way. You either believe what she is doing is wrong or you don't. Hell, as a taxpayer, if I knew her, I'd report her. Although I'd like to see the corporations and billionaires go first .... I digress. Make your choice, move on.

This/\ based on your income. This is a win. I was in a similar boat and forked out 150k. Kids/house/etc. Never blended the finances. Same tactics, they'll milk you for legal fees if you fight.

It didn't matter in my divorce. My ex sat on the stand and admitted to making more money. She even admitted to quitting a job "because I just didn't like it". That job was 40% increase in her income. The judge ignored all that and went straight on. Use the fact in negotiations but don't expect a favorable outcome unless you just have a kick ass lawyer.

Maybe I'm toxic but that snake would be a dead mofo... Live and let live, bite and get bitten... This isn't about revenge, it's about weeding out bad behavior without prejudice. Although it sounds like you're already doing well, good luck on your journey. Men who end up here were most likely undervalued by their spouse and already have the willpower and intelligence to make life anything they want. Now you'll accelerate without the freeloader. (Mostly😅)

Similar story here. If it isn't the current fad she put no energy into it. Her friend talked her up, she talked to a lawyer and the lawyer made it really easy.

You are grieving your marriage. What you're feeling is natural and like most grief, you will outgrow it.

We (like a lot of people) have security cameras in our home. Once she told me she wanted a divorce I refused to talk to her or be in the house with her if we weren't in front of the camera. We even went through a couple of months of her unplugging the damn thing claiming "muh privacy." Finally I asked her by email what she was hiding and stated all the illegal/harmful things she might be hiding by doing so. She stopped and moved out immediately. In our case we've literally had video in our home …

I think that mindset is what makes us men. We tough it out and take care of business, but you should know that she's probably not happy if you're not. The day will come when she drops you like a bag of feces. She won't hesitate when she has a better option. So, fix it or start preparing yourself to pull the plug faster than her. P.S. sunk cost fallacy.

You may be right but for me it was the principal of the matter. I didn't want a divorce, I wanted to fix my marriage. I should've filled first; hell, I should have never married her. 2 years, 150k +

This. Out of principal I made her file first. In hindsight, to save time, and to have last say in a court room scenario, I should have filed first.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
