Meditation. Some eastern practices like zen and buddhism try to deal with the problem of letting go from stuff in general.

Mindfulness meditation is an expansion of this technique you are describing. Besides the breathing, meditation brings you closer with the present experience. What this means is that you can truly enjoy the moment without being clouded by anticipation, excitement, anxiety, worries, etc. It puts you in total control of your mind and the things you are feeling. Maybe breathing techniques are enough to solve this problem, but if anyone needs a deeper solution, meditation can be nice (beside all the …

There is no need to express overtly your high status saying something like that. It shows how much it affected you. If you are truly high status, why bother with comments and teases like those? You are validating them by responding that way. What OP describes should be treated like a shit test. When a girl says: "You are short", You don't reply with "pardon me, I don't tolerate being disrespected in a social environment like this". You just laugh it off or simply ignore it. If a kid insults you,…

I believe you are overanalyzing everything. And this may sound like some stocked advise, but you just need to relax dude. Forget about extro/introvert, leader/follower/rebel classifications. You need to get out of your mind. Just be present, and you'll find yourself vibing just well with the cool kids at school, in groups, solo or with chicks. But you don't have to believe me. Just take a look into mindfulness, zen/buddhist shit and self-hypnosis (with visualization techniques). Or if all this s…

I don't think I'll be forcing it. Being as passive and shy as I am it's as untrue to my self as faking agressiveness. In both escenarios I'm lying and making an act. I belive it's all about context, like you said. But what happens when you are still learning about those contexts and how to behave properly? What I'm reasoning is that maybe going overboard can give me the perspective to later come back down and calibrate myself in social interactions. What do you think?

Of course, but I feel like I'm really stuck calibrating and finding the right amount of playfulness. And maybe going overboard (and kinda going over the line) and then coming back down afterwards could work. What do you think?

Yes, I get this. I absolutely don't want to be an asshole forever and I fully agree with everything you said. But specifically with interactions, I feel like I'm stuck taking really small baby steps towards the right amount of assertiveness. And maybe going overboard and then coming back down afterwards could be helpful. Do you think this may work?

Not OP, but usually you start with the classics: Socrates, Plato, Aristotle. They are the fundation of western thought and are easy to read. Then you can go to the rest.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
