You're either concern trolling or you completely, completely missed the point. I'm not complaining that this woman wasn't convicted or that she's being referred to as "wrongfully accused." Both of those things are as they should be and good on her for getting treated that way. What I'm complaining about is the blatant, undeniable double standard toward men that is evident by the way this woman's story is being treated versus the way false accusations against men are treated.

It's not just Lifetime. Google Jodi Barrus and look at the hits that come up. Nothing but sympathetic articles. You would never see the same thing about a man found innocent of underage rape, even with smoking gun evidence of his innocence (which this woman does not have). And you would never see Spike TV make a movie lionizing the guy.

I think everything in this article is correct except that it won't be sexbots. (And I think 2020 is way too optimistic for when fully-functional sexbots will show up. If you were serving a 20 year sentence for rape that you didn't commit and your accuser came forward after a year offering to recant as long as she wasn't charged, do you really think you'd give a damn about what harm it would cause society not to charge her? That's a different type of situation, though, and I'd agree he should be charged in that case. And as was said, his confession didn't do nearly the good that getting someone out of prison would.
