I started being really critical of music!! So much of popular music caters to unhealthy relationships and patterns, either sexualizing and objectifying women, or glorifying poor self esteem (such as literally begging for a man, insinuating that a relationship is women’s ultimate purpose, ignoring red flags, gaslighting themselves, pitting women against each other, etc)...it’s actually hard to listen to now.

Omg I had this happen once! I went on a date with someone I had known for a while and I didn’t feel the sparks so I told him that at the end of the date and he asked for reimbursement of half the dinner cheque to “make it more fair” as though I owed him something...?

https://www.jordanbpeterson.com/media/on-the-new-york-times-and-enforced-monogamy/ A direct quote from Peterson: “So, let’s summarize. Men get frustrated when they are not competitive in the sexual marketplace (note: the fact that they DO get frustrated does not mean that they SHOULD get frustrated. Pointing out the existence of something is not the same as justifying its existence). Frustrated men tend to become dangerous, particularly if they are young. The dangerousness of frustrated young me…

Most of his “rules” are geared towards young men, who he believes are marginalized and oppressed in today’s society. He’s extremely anti-women, believing in ideas like the need for “forced monogamy” and that incels are created by selfish women who won’t perform obligatory sex with men...

Ask them about Jordan Peterson and joe Rogan. If they’re cool with those guys — run for the hills!

No girl. UNACCEPTABLE. Reciprocity is key. I was in a relationship like this for three years and he got bjs almost every day and every time we had sex— but I got oral 3 times. No wonder I was so dissatisfied 🤣 selfish in bed = selfish everywhere else too. Life’s too short to settle for someone who doesn’t want or care to get you off how you want. NEXT

This is so sad. Women are expected to provide emotional labour and basically unpaid therapy, but men can’t be expected to see a therapist once in a while? This is such a dealbreaker for me. You don’t want to be with someone who can’t accept help, and who maybe can’t accept that they have real problems. That’s when the problems start to fester and grow and unchecked it can put YOU in a worse mental health situation. It’s almost like an ego thing, built up by years of societal pressure for men to …

I’m reminded of a time when I cleaned my ex’s house for him while he was working late. A few days later I asked for him to do a bit more in the relationship and brought up the fact that I was constantly doing things like cleaning his house for him, while he had never even wiped a counter in my place. He got upset at me for “keeping score” and I ENDED UP APOLOGIZING for cleaning his house because “he didn’t ask me to”. I apologized a lot in that relationship. Never again ✌🏻 Edit - he hated cleani…

Here to agree with this comment. In my last relationships] I gave A LOT - my time, money, sex, emotional support, etc. - and I didn't feel like I was getting the same back from my partner. Any time I would bring it up he'd get angry and tell me that I was wrong to "keep score" and that I "shouldn't do things for him if I expect something in return." I went to a lot of therapy for this because I genuinely thought there was something wrong with me for expecting something in return. But it turns ou…

Came here to agree with this! He sounds great and I’m really happy for you, but make sure he’s at least sustaining this level of attentiveness after several months AND when times are more difficult (e.g when you’re arguing, when there are external crises, etc.). Good luck!! 🤞❤️

I've never understood the logic of fighting over a man. If he doesn't want you - k bye.

Girl ARE YOU ME...this is so accurate it hurts panic attacks and depression have virtually disappeared. I used to have agoraphobia and now have no problems; and I had insomnia and sleep like a baby :) I’m so much more social and have really reconnected with the people that care about me, which is honestly one of the best things that happened. I used to be nervous and on edge all the time which meant I was too drained to focus on relationships other than with my ex. Now I have all the time in the…

Same ladies, broke up with my boyfriend of 3 years and all of a sudden all my friends have come out of the woodwork to tell me all the things they disliked about him, and it made me realize that it was for the best. Thought we were going to get married, but there was literally no reciprocity in our relationship (i.e. I did most of the work). Not worth it. I feel very sad sometimes, but most days I just feel relieved. Anxiety has gone way down, I'm sleeping better and I've reconnected with so man…
