Well said! Logic armor is a big part of the problem. That book shines a light on the need for validation, but it's just the first stepping stone in doing anything about it. IMO at least.

The opposite of the people pleasing nice guy is not 'mean'. This is a misunderstanding of what a nice guy is.

It sounds like she liked you a lot. There are a lot of reasons she could have floated that to you. For instance, she could have floated that to see what YOUR thoughts were on if you're seeing other people. Like - maybe she liked you enough to go "lets make this exclusive" right away. So I'd just ask her straight up. It's bothering you. Or even meet up with her and just ask directly: "Hey, you brought up this guy. Why did you discuss that on the date?" or however you want. Life is for living. Eve…

I’d frankly be miffed someone presumed I owed them any time. Dates don’t have to go your way or your style. It’s up to you to communicate what you want.

It's not illegal. If you feel there's something that could affect your kid, then it's worth bringing up. Otherwise, nah.

Lift. Don't dance around it: lift. That's a rule. You read it, so do it. Don't overcomplicate things with weight loss and body building tactics. We are talking basics here: lift. Get strong. Second, yes you need to get your diet in order. Even a sedentary individual will be at a healthy weight with their diet in order. Follow starting strength or another beginner program while you keep your body on a high protein diet with a small caloric deficit. You will lose weight, and retain if not gain noo…

Solid, but never ever ever to be bought at full price. Their dress pants fit as tailored but the quality matches the price point.

"I always had strong legs. I ran under 9 minutes for my 1.5 mile in basic, but now my back hurts too much" - Heard this morning in the desert from a fat kid in the unit, as he drank a Rippit with his lucky charms. Me? I'm 32 now, and I don't have physical accomplishments of my past to brag on. I was a shit bag. I found myself fat at 28 (240 lbs, 5'9), having just been fired from my management job of 9 years, and losing my girlfriend of 2 years. Even my daughter said I was fat, at that fun age wh…

Great post, and awesome breakdown of categories. Start lifting!!! After a novice starts reading, they will quickly understand why. Clothing can be fixed in 1-2 days, a mindset can change in a week, but the body takes time. Eliminating the sedentary lifestyle makes you look better and more desirable, which immediately boosts that critical confidence level. Behind the scenes, it WILL also cause a integral boost in testosterone. What good is this? It makes the entire mindset more of a second nature…

I definitely recognize my #1 goal is to only work on me right now. I've got a solid plan for career and fitness that I'm hitting in the next year. This is my first deployment while married. How did the transition back work for you? My plan is to maintain only positivity for at least the first week. I can understand walking on eggshells, as they have developed a new routine that works without me. Defend our country, and lose all power? What bullshit.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
