I literally agreed with you that those things you named happened, happen. Then I returned to the original argument and it appears you confused me returning to the original argument as something else? I have no interest to argue about something that is irrelevant to the discussion at hand. That is a misunderstanding on your part imho and a massive assumption. A simple clarifying questions such as “hey, I am reading this and thinking your conflating the two. Are you?” I would have said “no.”

I’d recommend you go read about how Reagan changed the core components of education due to racism and racist propaganda. His staff was quoted many times stating they made it more expensive exclusively to reduce black people from accessing higher ed. Way more complex than the elementary way you’re viewing education and why the system is broken.

Yes more women are entering the space of gov’t positions ****Despite record-breaking numbers of women running for office, women only hold roughly 30% of the seats in the U.S. Congress. The vast majority of governors, supreme court justices, and lawmakers remain male. patriarchy is an institutionalized social system, while misandry is a cultural attitude or prejudice. Prejudice without power is fairly weak. Prejudice + power is where we see the danger for women. Indicators of patriarchy: -Leaders…

The current administration made it their crusade to focus on merit. Based purely on merit, girls and women outperform men in majority of academics. The administration got rid of equity and fairness with representation. They purely wanted to focus on merit. Currently…. Focused on merit… girls and women beat out made in majority of academics. Not only that, but they are also buying homes long before their male counterparts do. These women do it single. This is why I wish Trump didn’t go full bore …

The interesting part when referencing the field of psychology and psychiatry: -Psychiatry (medical doctors specializing in mental health) was overwhelmingly male for most of the 20th century. It began shifting in the 1980s and 1990s as more women entered medical school. Today, women make up roughly half of practicing psychiatrists in the U.S., and among younger psychiatrists and residents, women are the majority. -Psychology (particularly clinical, counseling, and school psychology) experienced …

I did not imply what has been filtered into the conclusion you came to. Scouts honor. The point I was trying to make is to say how dismissive and flippant it is to say to a woman “well after you give birth just drop the infant off somewhere” without acknowledging the 9 months of pregnancy which can be absolutely hellish followed by birth which can lead to death. To imply that committing 9 months of carrying an embryo —> fetus —> to an infant and to term/birth is no biggie is so so dismissive and…

The answer is literally 2 sentences in. I give up with you. The level of commitment to misunderstand and deny is unfortunate. Regardless - this study now exists. It will be used to continue further studies in this area and more and more studies will come after to continue to substantiate the validity of this publication. There will be meta-analysis on this current and future publication further solidifying (probably even expanding on) the finding of this research. I wish you the best of luck and…

You’re demanding information from me. I need to understand what information you’re demanding from me and your reasoning behind the demand (typically this would be because you’re making a claim against it). So - refer to the end of my previous comment and answer that and I will, one last time, provide you with exactly what you need to accept your claim(s) have no substantial backing or scientific basis or reasoning and thus are simply opinions. While I can respect your opinion and frustration a study like this is now peer reviewed and will absolutely be used to further study this topic… I don’t really care. I do not see you making a claim against the validity of it - all I see is you expressing your feelings related to the existence of the data. I respect your opinion and you’re free to hate this publication to the end of time.

Be very specific what you want me to quote. I wish you’d simply go read the study yourself as in general respectful debate decorum it is not on me to do your work for you. If you are making a claim, the onus of responsibility is on the person making the claim (you.) Therapy was created by men and nearly all of the modalities used today were created by men. The only thing which has changed related to the field of therapy is sex of the therapist. Women make up the bulk of therapy. Regardless, pretty much every single common modality used in therapy was created by a man for men. Therapy was primarily offered by men, for men. That changed around the time Carl Rogers began including women in some studies with her framework and theory. Regardless of Rogers includ…

While I agree women absolutely have done that, would debate to the end of time the majority of people who do this and engage in this behavior are men. With that being said, there are absolutely numerous women who have internalized the patriarchy and uphold it by the examples that you named. Where they cannot hold the same level of empathy and compassion towards men as they can towards women who have experienced the same traumatic event. I am well aware there are real events where an adult female perpetrates and victimizes a boy. Absolutely. No one is denying these events exist. These are underreported as well and in the same way it is underreported when girls and women are victimized. This is exactly why the study was conducted promising anonymity. The issue here is… 9 months of pregnancy is devastating to the female body and the woman’s body changes in an unbelievable way and many of those changes are very unpleasant. 9 months…

I’m curious about how often men can go decades not paying a dime in child support despite being 50% of that child’s DNA and can get off Scott free with no custody if the opt to not fight for custody. That leaves the woman will full responsibility of a child she could not have created without the man participating and his sperm ovulating an egg. In this case - men are the ones who have more rights over women as they have the right to skip off with no legal ramifications after creating a human bei…

Of course Ghislaine Maxwell assisted the ongoing rape and trafficking of children. The behavior though was Epstein using having her and other children around as a way to get what he wanted. There are many coercive things that can be used to try and coerce someone to give you something they do not want to. Personal attacks to lower self-esteem is not uncommon. That dynamic is clearly research and understood as to why it takes many years, and sometimes many attempts, to leave someone who is active…

Yes I have been intentional to use that word as it brings about a sense of shock and most men pause when they read it as it’s more clinical and causes pause because of reaction to it. It’s much more difficult to say or laugh off penetrating another bother without consent and crack jokes about it than replacing the word penetrate sex. The study was very very specific at defining items. I’d highly encourage you to go read the paper. It’s not overly academic word wise so it’s quite easy to comprehend in my opinion. That study could be made into a quantitative study if the researchers zoned in on a specific hypothesis and were able to meet the standards for it to be approved by the board to move forward with actually interviewing volunteering participants. Again - in this study I will ask you to find the exact question (it is in the paper clear as day) and, again, the man endorsed asking over and over again even though he knew she was not interested with the intent to coerce a yes. If a yes comes from coercion it is not consent - this is legally defined by your state law. It is classified as coercion as this behavior mentally wears down someone. This why certain interviewing techniques are illegal and inadmissible in court. Humans can be worn down…

Yes, potentially as 65% of the reported behaviors endorsed by the male participants were successful and would constitute some form of criminal sexual conduct based on the present study (first sentence of that part of the publication.) Nowhere in that study is that claim being made. The authors have named this many many times over and over to critics of the publication. I see you have been unaware of the context with which these questions were asked via the survey. So I think what is happening here is you are confusing that force can be synonymous with non-consent in this context. If I do something to you against your desires and wants, I am forcing my will over yours = doing something to you non-consensually. I can empathize and agree with the confusing way they phrase the first claim.. however, that claim still stands even though it could have been worded better. Hopefully that helps. Words can be confusing sometimes if you are in an emotional state.

This is exactly what the study set out to research. It outlined various behaviors which fell into different distinctly defined categories. Pretty simple I’m not sure why you’re confused?

The tactics have been outlined in the study. Go read it and it will outline it clearly.

19 out of 20 men are not predators. 95.1% of the men surveyed did endorse engaging in at least ONE of a coercive and/or forceful tactic *to try to have sex with a woman they knew did not want to and had not consented. 65% of the tactics were successful. The fact you’re comfortable with this and laugh about it is tragic. I’m not sure if you’re close to your mother, have any sisters, have a daughter(s)…. If you do, you need to understand that of the 2,689 men surveyed… 95.1% of them would have att…

I fully agree a study on this exact same thing should be conducted! No one has argued against that, ever. I’m not sure anyone has ever argued this. Ever. At all. What I do see happening right now though is instead of accepting the results and acknowledging the conclusions and the information brought to light …… you want to talk about a different thing. Go start a new thread with that topic. Because THIS thread is about THIS study. Do you accept and agree with the conclusions of the study named i…

I don’t think you understand that penetrating your body with an object is very different than a kiss. The law understands this and I would say neither you nor a woman who has been kissed without consent have been SA’d. Do you not read legal definitions of things before you try and debate it?

The conclusions this study came to are exactly in line with what it states. All questions were asked with all men understanding the women they were attempting to have sex they knew did not want to and had not consented. Majority of tactics used were non-forceful - they were defined and identified as verbal manipulation. You stated exactly what it reports, and I am lost as to how you do not comprehend that? All tactics identified as coercive or forceful were effective 65% of the time. In total, o…

The fact you sent me that link is gold. Oh my gosh. So, here is a study which you deny all numbers and yet you want me to accept the numbers outlined by what is on the page from that link? You hit the nail on the head!! Studying this topic is extremely difficult and getting accurate data is hard. Here is a study which was able to find a way to get the data through an anonymous online survey. Yet you disregard it and say it cannot possibly be true. I can’t make this stuff up oh my gosh this is co…

They are studying human behavior of 50% of the human population…??? When studying sexual violence, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, and sexual harassment men make up the majority of perpetrators. Women make up the majority of victims these perpetrators offend against. In the event of male victims, men make up the majority of perpetrators who offended against them. This is what “people” do - they found the sex which makes up the “people” who commit these crimes are primarily men. Get it?

This is not pseudo-science. Peer reviewed and published by a very reputable journal. Zero official academic rebuttals or revision requests.

Nope not in this case if you actually understood and could comprehend the study. It is a complex and dynamic thing - conceptualizing and understanding motivators for human behavior. But if you are not an idiot I believe this paper is quite easy to comprehend.

Forming a relationship = consent. No convincing or coercion. So, no. Again. You have to be able to comprehend what you’re reading and clearly you cannot so I’ll help you out. The entire paper needs to be read through the goal of these behaviors men endorsed trying (whether successful or not) were to penetrate a woman’s body who was not interested in being penetrated. The goal of these men was not to build a relationship with said women. Use your brain.

Actually, no. Men are majority of rapists and abusers. Women are majority of victims. In the cases of male victims, men are the majority of perpetrators still. Now what?

Uhm, no. Existing is non-problematic. What is problematic is a man engaging in one or several manipulative tactics to coerce or convince someone to do something she does not want to do.

We are not discussing nonsexual things. This paper is discussing a very specific goal and the multiple behaviors men endorsed attempting to achieve that goal. What the heck does your comment have to do with a male penetrating a females body when we’re talking about a male penetrating a females body. Go take your whataboutism elsewhere. I guarantee you.. if I took an object and penetrated you with it when you said no, and you got mad and I said “but you made me buy you pizza yesterday and didn’t …

Gislaine Maxwell is a great example of how men use women to lower the defenses of girls and women. There is your answer.

Correct. This is a study on human behavior. Hence the reason behind why the questions were asked the way they were. This is not a study on how a cell reacts to a substance. Humans are complex and dynamic - human behavior is complex and dynamic. One human may employ several different behaviors to achieve a goal before ceasing attempts whereas another may only employ 1-2 behaviors before ceasing attempts. Humans are motivated by different things to engage in the same behavior.

I am so sorry you were unable to comprehend the meaning of the results with this research paper. The research papers conclusions reflected the spectrum of manipulative and/or aggressive behaviors men will openly admit to when granted absolute anonymity. It also was able to identify and understand a map of calculated, non-consensual strategies rather than mere "miscommunication" or relationship ambiguity. Private sex is not rape. If both parties are consenting, it is not rape. Isolating a woman a…

This was not the claim being made. Clearly you’re triggered and I need you to ground yourself before attempting to read my reply and before you go and read the study. Uhm. No. Studying human the **motivators of specific behaviors requires more flexibility because there are several motivators for a singular behavior. Did you not ever take any basic social science courses ever?

The several questions with ambiguous wording was intentional as the study set out to understand what drives behavior. Human behavior is driven by many many things because every human is unique from one another. There are thousands of studies which ask vague questions which you wouldn’t pause and critique because it is not on such a difficult topic for men to read. Men have a very difficult time reading about their sex’s behavior as a whole. If your knee jerk reaction to reading this was not a pa…

Clearly your amygdala took over super fast because you entirely misunderstood the words you looked at but could not comprehend due to your frontal lobe not functioning in its full capacity. They were not claiming the micro-tactics to be sexual violence. They were categorizing micro-tactics as a set of behaviors to coerce or convince. Neither of those behaviors meet the definition of sexual violence - they would meet sexual misconduct and simply are indicative of manipulative behavior to get some…

This study was published in a very reputable journal. Also this study is not stating 95% of men commit sexual assault. What this study highlights WITH its methodology, sampling, etc. was to better understand behavior. What the data revealed was the spectrum of aggressive behaviors men will openly admit to when granted absolute anonymity. The study was able to identify micro-tactics. The researches argue that identifying these "micro-tactics" is necessary to understand how sexual aggression escal…

The majority of rapists are men. The majority of victims are girls and women. Most male rape victims are raped by men. I’m not sure why you think this comment is relevant? It’s like a study comes out about men’s suicide rate and someone coming along saying “dolphins commit suicide too it’s so telling such studies never study dolphins as well.”
